Exclusive! Former NXT Diva Anya on Her WWE Release: “I Wish I Had Known” It Was Coming

WWE parted ways with two talented prospects last month and at least one of them was completely blindsided by her release.

6’1″ Russian kickboxer Anya — real name Anna Bogomazova — was released alongside Audrey Marie and she tells Diva Dirt exclusively she didn’t see it coming.

In her first post-WWE chat, to be released this week, she tells Diva Dirt’s Jake: “I wish I had known [it was coming]. I always asked my coaches what to work on but they always told me I was doing well. Honestly, I wish I had an idea that it might come but I didn’t.”

The former NXT star was recuperating from a broken arm at the time of her release and adds that she has already set on her sights a return to the ring — or the MMA cage — when she’s better.

She said: “For now, I need to take a break until I heal but I’m always open to opportunities and to do MMA or wrestling.”

In the detailed interview, Anya also opens up about her injury, that promo featuring her, Summer Rae and Paige as a female version of The Shield, and just how she got her start with WWE.

Stay tuned for the full audio interview this week only on Diva Dirt!

I was always curious about that female Shield promo. It’d been great had it became reality. Can’t wait to hear this interview.

apparently it was someone from NXT who posted those few clips of the girls doing promos but people found it quick so there were taken down but recently a fan reposted them but I guess they were taken down again

There was several like a Sheild-esque promo from Paige, Anya, and Summer Rae, another was Anya cutting a promo in russian, Charlotte was acting as a authority figure and Emma was in it too. Dani was in one with Percy Watson.

It wasn’t anything to look into, it was just promo class however it does give a what if?

Somebody needs to teach WWE how to handle the divas division. So much talent is just going to waist!

It’s rather shitty of WWE to release someone when their injured; especially when they haven’t even debuted yet. They basically signed her for nothing.

TNA should use her, she would be perfect as a Knockout with more training! :D

Laughing at the fact that 95% of this board wouldn’t have seen her wrestle due to the fact she never made television and was off with injury but can somehow gage that she was a breakout Superstar from seeing nothing at all.

It’s harsh though WWE seemed to fob everyone off and tell them that they’re doing fine then releasing them the next moment – I think Jenny Cash said something similar and was really heartbroken by it. If you know there’s a reason to release someone then at least make them aware it’s as if they don’t want the talent to improve and avoid being released in the first place.

I have a feeling once the Kaitlyn/AJ feud is done with Steph Mcmahon will come back out and critise how all the divas have been acting lately and once she calls them out all the nxt divas come in and attack. It would explain why none of them had been called up. If its true its just a shame Anya wont be a part of it, maybe Sarah Del Rey could come in for a one off storyline

I never expected her to endeavoured. They included her in the ones to watch or whatever it was called on WWE.com with Paige.

I saw the female Shield promo on Vimeo. It’s still there just google “Anya Paige Summer Rae Shield”

I’ve never seen her do anything beyond that Shield promo that got released so I can’t judge how big of a loss this truly is. Though with the coaches that told her she was doing fine, maybe they didn’t know she was going to be released? That’s kind of a decision that goes above a training coach’s head.
