Exclusive: Former NXT Diva Anya on Her WWE Release, Moving From Russia, Her Future in Wrestling & More

Last May, the WWE went through the ranks of its NXT developmental territory and released a number of wrestlers, Superstars and Divas alike.

Among the released was Anya who, like fellow released NXT Diva Audrey Marie, was just starting to develop her skills as a wrestler.

The Russian native was signed by the WWE last summer and moved all the way to Florida to being wrestling training. Being an accomplished kickboxer, Anya already had an extensive athletic background and seemed to be bursting with potential.

Speaking exclusively to Diva Dirt’s Jake in her first interview since her release, Anya–real name Anna Bogomazova–discusses what led up to her release, including if she believes her injury caused her to be let go.

Anya shares details on the character she was developing, speaking on the much talked-about “female Shield” promo that leaked on the internet. She also talks about the potential of NXT’s Divas, describes what could have been her finishing move and tells us if she would consider an offer from TNA.

It’s a unique look into the life of an NXT Diva–one that traveled a long way from home to forge a new career and, despite her setbacks, is determined to make her mark.

I was sad to see her go, hopefully she makes it to TNA.

  • DJ8946

I’m about to listen now but do one with Audrey.

    • DivaDestiny

I would love one with Audrey too. :)

I was curious to see how the WWE would impose her unique look and abilities into the division, so I’m disappointed for her that she was let go. I hope she sticks at her craft, however, and that she achieves what she sets out to do. All the best to her.

  • shameronstar

Her accent reminds me of when Maryse was learning English:)

  • SherriShepherdWWE

I feel like, she didnt really have the passion for the wrestling, it was kinda like a fluke and everything and also feel like her arm begin so broken and damaged plus with her thick accent even though she was taking english lessons, were alot of the reason she was released

i wish you call the best in the future Anya, was a huge fan of yours in NXT even though u never debuted

Can someone tell me what she said about her future on wrestling and what she said about TNA? I don’t have the flash player on mobile so I can’t listen.

Based on her look alone, I think she is really unique.

From what I can understand (I’m not great with strong accents when I can’t lip read) she seems really sweet. I’m disappointed they never really gave her a chance to show us what she can do. Maybe now people can finally stop speculating about the female Shield promo. :P

  • DaDivaQueen

    Omg she is so greasy.
