WWE.com Introduces Eva Marie

Total Divas fever is spreading everywhere, and WWE.com has caught the bug!

WWE's website has published an extensive interview with Total Divas star Eva Marie, who has lit a fire under the Divas division as of late with her blaze-red hair and hot temper.

Despite the danger of being slapped, two reporters caught up with Eva and first asked her about when she decided she wanted to become a WWE Diva. Eva replied:

“I would say it started in September. I went to a Divas search because I live in L.A. It continued from there. The final portion was in-ring training. I fell in love with it the first day. I couldn’t wait to get in the ring, and then from there, I was lucky enough to be picked for developmental. It all turned out pretty good. Being a Diva, you’re a professional athlete and then you get to entertain. It’s the best of every aspect, all in one. That’s why I fell in love with it.”

Eva Marie also made it perfectly clear that she hasn't joined the WWE just to star in a reality show – she's after the Divas Championship. Regarding the butterfly belt, she said:

“There’s so much that I want to do. I want the title, of course. Who doesn’t want the Divas Championship? AJ, I'm coming for you!”

In addition to her goals inside the ring, Eva also talked about her family life, particularly her ex-Marine father's battle with cancer. She said that her personal matters have inspired her to get hands-on in WWE's charity work. Eva stated:

“What also attracted me to WWE is their charity and how they do so much with the military. My dad was a Marine. I want to be able to serve the troops and go overseas to support them. I also want to have my own nonprofit organization because my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer when I was 15. He’s still fighting it. It’s a constant battle. Sometimes he’s in remission and sometimes he’s fighting it, like now, and he’s fought it for so long. I just want to be able to help people out there, as well, with that. That’s one of the main things I’d like to do, get the word out there and be a good role model.”

Eva also discussed secrets about the Divas division, changing her hair color and advice her fellow Total Divas have given her.

Girl bye! I stopped as soon as she said she wanted the divas championship. I just want to know how she expects to get a title when she hasn’t wrestled at all. I mean its nice to dream and all but honey you’re REACHING!! She can want but she can’t have. I want to give her a chance but ch…

    • Matty “EVA MARIE’S #1 FAN!” Ryan

You’re taking that comment way too seriously, every girl has said at some point that they want the title, so before you ‘girl bye’ anyone, check yourself boo, BYE FELICIA!

      • jtiera

LMFAO I know you are not tryna start. Hop off her NIPS she just got here with your overly sensitive ass. Chill don’t do it

        • Matty “EVA MARIE’S #1 FAN!” Ryan

          Bye Felicia, being extra A’F’

    • DJsol

    • http://www.facebook.com/qcevolution qcevolution

You are being kinda extra. Its every Divas goal to be the Champ. Like why wouldn’t she wanna be? You may now have several seats.

  • Matty “EVA MARIE’S #1 FAN!” Ryan

I have Eva’s fans name, MARIEnes! (pronounced like marines!)

I’m going to Smackdown tomorrow and if she is there I might BURST!

    • Wrestling.fan.from.France

      Erh… You are….really…..I mean….Erh…
Your love for Eve Maria…I mean….Eva Maria…I mean whatever her name, the red hair girl who didn’t show us ANYTHING good make me SICK!

And aren’t the SD tapping today?

      • Matty “EVA MARIE’S #1 FAN!” Ryan

No SD! has a taping in Houston tomorrow.

ANYTHING? Seriously? She showed more attitude and personality, than Rosa, Tamina, Alicia, Layla (She has personality, she just doesn’t put it to use), Kaitlyn, Natalya, The Bellas, Naomi, and AJ.

        • SomebodyCallMyDaddy

Ummm not trying to knock the new girl but Eva has a long way to go to even be compared to some of the girls you mentioned.
Even Tamina’s “I’m gonna make a statement ” promos were excuted better than hers .

        • rideordieBEEP

She said about 10 words, how has she shown more personality than all the divas roster apart from Aksana and Cameron?

          • Matty “EVA MARIE’S #1 FAN!” Ryan

That says something if she show more personality in 10 word than the TOP diva has in 2 years.

        • Wrestling.fan.from.France

          – Rosa is waaaaaaaaaay more charismatic than her and show her attitude and personality EVERYTIME she is the ring(even if she is awful) or at ringside (and that why she is the most interesting thing about the team of Epico & Primo),
          – Hum, did you miss ME last week? Alicia showed WAAAY more personality in that match than Eva ever show. Another example, her first title reign in 2010. She showed more AGAIN personality than
          – Naomi showed TONS of personality and attitude on NXT3 and more than Eva. She showed more attitude and personality in her matches and in backstage segment when she is able to talk.
          – Even if I hate them and they are boring, The bellas showed way more personality and attitude than Eva on matches or on the mic or backstage segment.
          – Layla? What joke! She is one of if the most charismatic diva! Please, she she showed more personality and attitude than Eva, first in her Laycool run, when she was with Regal, flirting with Jamie Noble, in her Ecw days and NOW.
          – Same for Nattie and Kaitlyn(in NXT3 and during her feud with Aj).
          – THE JOKE OF THE YEAR, she showed more personality and attitude than Aj…….WTF?! Did you miss her promos? Aj with Steph on Raw, the secret admire thing, the contract signing oozed of what Eva don’t have! She also she more on her matches.
          – Even Tamina show more personality and attitude in her \I’m gonna make a statement\ promo, recently in her matche and as a face!

          END OF STORY!

          • http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/WWE_Divas/ art

@Matty “EVA MARIE’S #1 FAN!” Ryan LAWLS..ROFL all those women have better mic skills/attitude than eva freaking marie who can’t even perform a slap lol……

          • Matty “EVA MARIE’S #1 FAN!” Ryan

I can’t even with this whole comment! You trashed Rosa, & The Bellas, yet you’re for them now? Girl bye.

You’re living in the past with Layla & Alicia.

            Natalya has no personality.

Just because AJ was ALLOWED to cut a promo, doesn’t mean she is good at it.

            Tamina, no.

I’m gonna be laughing when Eva proves you wrong and you move onto the newest girl.

          • rasharexx

You really need to let that Rosa thing go. She barely even gets mic time and I know why. Even though Eva did bore me, Rosa should have been released two years ago. And yes, I like Rosa, so dismiss the fan/hater thought. I just think her time been up, especially when Epico and Primo haven’t made a huge impact, nor has she since she has been signed. Other women have done at least something while she has just been standing that looking sexy. Give the new women in NXT her role. Even Summer Rae can deliver a better performance, inside the ring and on the mic. And the woman has less experience, that is what makes Rosa soooooo disappointing and with all that potential…but oh well. At least she was something in FCW for a while. The truth be the truth and nothing but it.

          • http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/WWE_Divas/ art

Their better than eva & no i don’t have to like them to give them credit over some hanger on who think she can challange aj for the title with no wrestling ability when jojo is better than her & wwe doesn’t even give her any videos or anything….
so #GurlBye yourself & check the door before you walk through it….

          • rasharexx

Eva has yet to challenge AJ and has admitted that she is not in a good position as far as wrestling goes by stating that Jo Jo is doing better at training. So it will be a while before Eva is lacing any boots. In the mean time, let’s just wait and see what is to come. And hopefully, if God is listening, we get a better division cause this AJ and Kaitlyn storyline needs some polishing. Jo Jo in the mean time, as I said before, needs to be doing more singing for the WWE and playing with the mic before she even gets promoted. She is only known for the show and her curls. That’s about it. When the WWE is ready for her, they will let that be known. Until the meantime, let’s watch Jo Jo on this scripted show and see if she has a character or at least potential.

  • http://aksanahq.com Dylan

    Jo-Jo who?

  • Wrestling.fan.from.France

Hum, I’m sorry but I still don’t see the passion! I mean she saying her blah blah but it was an interview by WWE. com so it was OBVIOUS that she was going to talk about Aj and her “dreaming” of the title. This reminds me more of a speech from a girl who want to be Miss Usa especially at the end. She is AWFUL on the mic, AWFUL at acting and I can not even imagine her in-ring work! She can keep saying that she is here because she want to be a diva I don’t buy it. A for now, I feel like she just want to make a name fo herself and be a star just like the bellas!

When I see or when I hear Aj, Natalya, Naomi, Alicia, Tamina, Kaitlyn, ROSA MENDES( yes, even her because even if she is awful, I see the passion for this), Cameron and Layla talk, I can see/hear the passion in their eyes/her voices while in Eva and the bellas, I see NOTHING but the wanting to be STARS! Not WRESTLER which make angry.

  • DJsol

So she is asked when she decided she wanted to be a diva, and she says september, then her next answer she says she’s wanted to be a diva her whole life. How old is she???

    • Wrestling.fan.from.France

The fact that she said September and not something like “10 years ago” shows that she DOESN’T CARE about WRESTLING, SHE JUST WANT TO BE FAMOUS!

      • shameronstar

Ah yes, the “model vs wrestler” topic has always been an interesting subject to me! I think they all have a place and purpose in wwe, Although, the inconsistent booking has been a problem for awhile and because of that it can sometimes be difficult to take the product seriously! Hopefully, the fruits of labor from the recent improvements in developing talent start coming to fruition soon and some level of proper hierchy are restored because you can have both a Jazz and a Torrie Wilson but they need to be used in the role that they’re best suited to!

      • rasharexx

So…. that’s her business and she is the one signed. I have yet to hear every diva on the roster say that they watched wrestling as a child. Some didn’t and still are decent wrestlers. Don’t ever say that Rosa has passion when she can’t even get her damn life straight so that she can do her job. It’s sad when you are more excited to see the new girls without experience in NXT wrestling than watching a woman who has been on the main roster a while and still is just another pretty face. Like damn…just release her. Any woman can do her job.

      • Kaledrina.

oh, please. the whole allure of wwe in itself is fame and riches. whether you’re a natalya or a eva marie – you’re in the wwe for the celeb status and the perks that come with it.

do you think sara del rey joined NXT as a trainer ‘cos all her life she wanted to train divas? no. she’s doing it for the money LOL. there’s nothing wrong with.. life is, unfrotunately, all about the moolah. just don’t get it twisted.

      • Matty “EVA MARIE’S #1 FAN!” Ryan

You do realize that when Aksana, Alicia, The Bellas, Cameron, Kaitlyn, Layla, Naomi, & Rosa only did it cause they wanted to be famous and ended up loving the business. Also how do you know she doesn’t care about wrestling? Just cause you haven’t been a life long fan doesn’t mean you don’t love it. People said that they were tired of models who don’t care about wrestling when WWE signed Naomi & Kaitlyn, and look at them now, two of the best divas.

    • Ambrose-DivaFan

I’m not a fan or anything, but some people don’t know how much they love something until they do it, maybe its a case of that, but I’m not gonna hold my breathe that she’ll be here more than a couple years. I’ll wait to judge her in-ring until I see what she is like in their!

    • xXxUniquelyiXxX

      She’s 28. She’s far from old, but that’s a late start.

      • Wrestling.fan.from.France

Agree, there is a place for the models and the wrestler in wwe but some models HAVE passion when they debut but her, I don’t see anything. That’s my problem. She is there since January and she didn’t even show a litte passion for wrestling, soo….

Hum, NOT AGREE! SDR is not here for the money, it’s because she love this and it was her dream to be there. Girls like Aj or Nattie or not for the money but because they love this and they dreamed about this their whole career!

Some models had the passion to do it. Kaitlyn had the passion because when you say that your insperation are or is somebody other than the easy choice whichvis Trish stratus on interview, that mean that she know a little about wrestling and Wwe. After for the other, I don’t know.

  • BarbieBlank

Meh . After watching that segment on raw I really don’t wanna hear about Eva unless it involves her going to nxt.

  • rasharexx

LOL Yall still read about topics that relate to the WWE roster knowing damn well you don’t like that specific person. Let the one’s who want to enjoy it, enjoy it. I know everyone has an opinion, but damn can we get one day without yall. If she isn’t serious, that’s within her mind and we don’t know facts. So get out her red hair and find something to do with your damn life.

  • xXxUniquelyiXxX

I just don’t get a vibe off of her that makes me think she has a passion for WWE. I honestly get that vibe more from Jo Jo even though she’s so young.

    • rasharexx

Jo Jo needs to sing some entrance theme songs and that is about it. I only say that because Eva only has been known in the WWE for a very, very short period of time. So what makes Jo Jo special in terms of passion? Singing? Yeah…but not wrestling. The new women signed to NXT have more passion.

      • xXxUniquelyiXxX

It was just an opinion. Jo Jo seems fascinated by it all, Eva seems like she’s just there for the time being. No need to be so defensive…

        • rasharexx

Not defensive…she is not my family so I’m not bothered by your opinion, I just rather state mine and make a valid point. I’m just honest, you d.d. readers will come to understand that as I make more post. Jo Jo may become or may not become a good wrestler and that is to be seen. I just rather people understand that not every diva has to be a fan or have the passion that some of you hopefully want them to display to your liking. It’s not going to be that way, point blank period. Even some of most decent, Nidia for example, thought that wrestling was cool and enjoyed her time, but never really had all that much of a passion. It was another job to her and that is fine. I think Eva should be left alone, despite the fact that I’m no where near a fan of her’s and that is my own personal view, because what did the woman prove? She is new and hasn’t gotten nothing but prejudgments. As I said before, if you don’t like, stop reading and watching something that deals with a specific person that you don’t care for. And just so you understand that I’m not being defensive, this applies to everyone in the world, not you. But that is just my opinion….

          • Bubbles

You say you’re not being defensive yet you comment on every post with her name in it. Give your keyboard a rest LOL

    • SomebodyCallMyDaddy

Yes! For some reason I feel like jojo will be the better wrestler while Eva will be more of a charecter

  • http://twitter.com/LuckiNumbr7 Ericboi34

I think you guys shouldn’t count her out yet. If she says she wants it, maybe she does. You all do realize that she’s still new, right? Everyone starts somewhere. Maybe sometime down the road, she’ll get better on the mic and maybe she’ll be good in the ring too. Anyway, she’s got the looks for sure. Nice character. She’s a diva alright. If she’s serious about getting in the ring, then she’ll learn. If not, she’s out. But I don’t think you guys should count her out for her 1-time live Raw appearance. I have high hopes for her, Jo-Jo and any other Diva who gets in the business.

  • jadeleela

I honestly didn’t mind her as much then she opened her mouth on monday….chick’s got a Looooog way to go…

  • divaindemise

The general tone of commentary on here seems to sway between the kind of dialect you’d expect warring drag queens to volley at each other and a whirlwind of diatribe. The new slang, maybe? Anyway, I don’t find Eva Marie’s declarations very convincing. She comes across as a pretty starlet/beacon for the sassy drama required of US reality TV and if she delivers, then at least she can say she’s done her part. Maybe she will progress into the ring, but I doubt it.

  • VelvetLoveFan

Don’t all be so quick to judge .. Geez, she just started for Gods sake

    • FameHooker18

I agree!!! there are seriously some VICIOUS VULTURES gunning for blood on the site. The girl has said all of 10 words on Television, Had 1 interview and hasn’t wrestled yet, and people are acting like she killed their first born child.

  • KaitlynLover<3

    * AJ comes out with Big E Langston. They call Dolph Ziggler out. AJ mocks Ziggler and trashes some of his belongings. Kaitlyn ends up coming out and spears AJ while Ziggler takes out Big E.

  • DaDivaQueen

WTF is up w/ all these people saying she’s the next Eve?

Oh wow, she’s Latina and her name is almost identical she must be the next Eve…

  • SherriShepherdWWE

hahahha, people on this site, make me laugh, some people on here think they know everything about the wrestling world and everyone that is in it

You guys are all judging a girl, who has made two wrestling appearances, and you guys already have her figured out, like seriously its time to take a step back, and give the girls a few months and matches, before judging her, saying she is gonna be sloppy, cant talk, just a fame whore!!!,

I think i will gotta what a while, to see how she develops, everyone on here did the same thing a few years ago, when Naomi was signed, saying she wasnt gonna be a good wrestler, didnt want this, just wanted to be famous, NOW look, everyone is just drooling over her, and wrestling, so PEOPLE stop judging these girls

and as far as the fame part, every Diva, male superstars, they all sign because they wanna go to WWE, and become famous, weather there indy wrestlers, or jo blow off the street,

but Eva is stunning, so beautiful, kinda reminds me of Megan Fox

    • FameHooker18

      • Matty “EVA MARIE’S #1 FAN!” Ryan

        ^Used at an appropriate time!

    • FameHooker18

I was going to write a comment about all the unnecessary HATING!!! But you just said everything I wanted to perfectly, and so my hats off to you.

  • FameHooker18

I really don’t understand why people are so offending, clearly they don’t have anything more interesting in their lives. What I got from this interview is that while she’s not a wrestling fan, I feel she will become one. I don’t understand this STUPID rule book that you have to be a wrestling fan for life to be a wrestler. Some wrestlers get the passion and love of wrestling more when they become it. As long as your passionate while your doing it, it doesn’t matter whether you were 13 or 30 when you became a wrestling fan.

What I got from this interview is that she’s a girl that has passion and is extremely dedicated and persistent. And she’ll want to be the best in what she does. I also feel like she wasn’t big on wrestling before, but she seems to love it now, and I think that WWE or not, she is now a fan.

Lord knows she has work to do, but perfection doesn’t come in months. And for a girl that’s been in a company for months only, her confidence and willingness to go at it impresses me.

I do think some people overrate her to much already though. You can’t act like she’s the best wrestler in the division, when to haven’t even seen her on TV for more than 5 minutes, let alone wrestle. Some people are acting likes she’s the second coming if Jesus. I can understand if people like her look, I personally love it and think she’s is BEAUTIFUL, but I’m not going to get hyped over her until she proves to me in all aspects that she is a WWE Diva, and not just a very pretty face.

I do hope is as strong and determined as she says to prove all you BITCHING, WHINING, MOANING HATERS wrong!!!! And I hope she is as dedicated to the craft as much as it seems.

To the Bitches – Get a fricking life please :)

    Rant Over Beeyotches

    • charovnica

Oh,the irony…it seems like you don’t have anything more interesting to do either, because you’re writing long paragraphs commenting and judging people that do not have the same opinion as you.

      • FameHooker18

Babe, firstly I’m a quick typer so it really doesn’t take me long to write these long paragraphs, so it’s not really time consuming. Secondly I’m not judging anyone at all, I can completely understand that people have different opinions to me, but when you use your opinion to spew hatred and unnecessary rudeness & bitching, then I have a problem. I’m not judging I’m taking the information I already know from the comments and countering it.

And thirdly what’s truly ironic you jumping quickly to use the word judging, when people are so quick to judge Eva on absolutely nothing, and no information they know about her.

I’m not saying you have to like her, but at least let the girl have a match before you judge her for God Sake.

        Lastly, thanks for commenting :)

        • charovnica

Um,I never once judged her.If anything I was one of the few that realized that she was a newbie with no experience,so there is that.Don’t call me “babe” it sounds very condescending since we don’t even know each other.

          • FameHooker18

If you carefully read what I posted, BABE! I said it’s ironic for you to use the word judge, when that’s all PEOPLE are so quick to judge Eva, I never focused on you, I said people. And by that comment I was saying how funny it is that you’re quick to post about me ‘judging’ other people when there’s a whole page of people judging someone based on an interview. So before you come quick to comment back, actually read the comment babe.

  • http://www.twitter.com/PocketxBarbie brave barbie.

Why such hatred towards a girl who didn’t even have the opportunity to be in a match? It’s disgusting.

    • Monkey Tennis

It’s more indifference than hatred. This is standard corporate approved interview where she’s clearly been briefed to say all the right things and tick a few boxes.

I agree, it would be both premature and obviously unfair to ‘hate’ her. I simply don’t care about her yet. So far, she hasn’t done anything worth caring about.

    • rasharexx

Some of them, yes the d.d. readers and “specialists”, are disgusting. I know you aren’t saying they are, but some are. And not to forget, rude, half of them are uneducated and it is annoying. I first saw this post and I figured, let me come in and speak my mind because this lady is about to be ridiculed for getting time to speak in character while at the same time, share something with us. As a fan of all divas, I wasn’t going to ignore the post or hate. Heck, I’m waiting to see what she can do.

  • charovnica

Um…okay. But Eva,before your untrained ass gets a shot at the title,Naomi,Natalya,Paige,Bayley,Emma should have a decent run. Then maaaybe if you train your ass off to prove everyone wrong, you can have this title shot.

  • http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/WWE_Divas/ art

I don’t get why wwe isn’t promoting jojo when shes picking up wrestling quicker than this maryse 2.0……

    • rasharexx

WWE can promote who they want. Let’s just deal with it and stop complaining that we actually see any diva get promoted.

      • http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/WWE_Divas/ art

i actually wasn’t complaining either just stating the obvious….Both of them are on total divas yet they can’t give jojo can videos at all or anything??.when all eva is being portrayed at is being easy….

        • rasharexx

Jo Jo got her shot, remember when she sung? Yeah, that is about much promotion she is going to get for the time being. Eva looks more diva like…if you get what I mean. That is why she is being pushed, so unless Jo Jo straightens those curls and glam up a bit, WWE nor the fans going to be checking for her and that is just how the business is. So yeah, the comment about complaining doesn’t apply to one person or another, It applies to whoever has a problem with Jo Jo not being promoted and Eva is. As I said before, let’s be happy that the WWE is promoting any diva at this point. If they had no division, then it’ll be more of a whine. Just stating the obvious. No offense.

        • DaDivaQueen

I read a report a while back that Eva was going to be pushed because WWE is high on Latina Divas given the recent success of Eve Torres, AJ Lee and the Bella Twins.

          • rasharexx

If WWE does, then Eva will be booed out the building. I think she is beautiful and quite a vixen (look wise), but she has yet to display any basics. Once we, the fans, see that. Then maybe, just maybe, Eva should work her way up. But I’m sorry, no fan is checking for Eva until she does more than star in a reality show and slap Jerry.

  • BorisG

When WWE stops pushing her and not mentioning JoJo, I won’t stop hating. I mean, all Divas get Total Divas promo, except JoJo. All praise Eva Marie because of her looks, while she said in interview that JoJo is learning faster than her. Not a JoJo biggest fan either, but both of them deserve some credit, not just one of them. They signed 2 Divas, not one.
Everybody think she will be big because of her looks.

  • Spike7000

The trend continues when one with no previous experience in pro wrestling gets hired and starts getting overrated by individuals because of looks mostly and fashion for instance. You can easily tell someone from that type of background that likely might not care for it because it’s transparent

There has been cases of those who have left wrestling because oh it wasn’t their thing when actually wanting to use it as a vehicle for getting into Hollywood or more modeling

There is no telling of what Eva Marie showed because she showed little action on monday.

Mostly all talent in WWE have a passion for the sport because they grew up either with it and are from a infamous family also it’s their dream to be there. Natalya, AJ, Tamina, Paige, Charlotte, Emma, Sasha, Bayley, Rebecca Knox, and Rachelle St. Claire all those women worked hard to get into WWE because of their determination to get there not because oh of a specific look. Sara Del Rey is down there in NXT training people because wrestling is what she loves.

I know there’s been a few successes from the Model thing ex. McCool and Naomi while bringing prospects like Kaitlyn, Alicia Fox, Layla

  • princesschocolate

I hate how WWE hires women with no passion for the business. You’d be doing a great honor by letting a female named Sara Del Rey join your roster. She is guaranteed 1000x better than this faker.

  • cage1

does anyone know what pics the other divas are bugging her about. The scandal like one
