CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler Talk ‘Total Divas’, Being on the Show

WWE Superstars CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler have been hard at work on the media rounds leading up to Sunday’s SummerSlam, so it was inevitable that they would eventually be asked about the E!’s new hit show Total Divas.

Sport Illustrated spoke to the two men and asked both of them about the show and if they’d be interested in being featured on it.

Dolph’s response was full of praise, but he says he’d have to “think about” letting the cameras follow him around during his day to day life.

“Even knowing all those people, I think it’s a very intriguing show. When I first watched it, I was like ‘Wow, I can get into this show.’ I would think about doing a reality show. However, as much as I want to be in TV, movies and crossover, I saw those cameras around for a couple of months and it’s huge invasion of your privacy. I’d have to think about it. I wouldn’t mind being a guest star or a bit player, but I’d need 24 hours at home in silence sometimes.”

Punk, however, was not so keen on the idea:

“Reality show? What the hell is reality TV any way? It’s as scripted as anything. I wouldn’t want my life acted out on television in some weird drama. If somebody wants to follow me around with a camera, I do think my life is pretty entertaining on its own without trying to spice it up. But it doesn’t sound like anything I’d sign up for. I do like the small sliver of privacy I’m afforded.”

We can’t say we’re surprised at Punk’s response. Dolph’s, however, is great to hear. It shows that Total Divas has appeal beyond the typical reality show audience.

Would you want to see CM Punk or Dolph Ziggler on Total Divas?

Punk’s right, but Dolph nailed it cause he actually praised the show and with this he’s basically complimenting the divas involved.

Ziggler never belittle any Diva so far that I’m concern… for him everyone is a good worker. I love his passion for this business :)

  • Sha95

    • Black Widow

      -Devious Diva
      -Divas 365 and other.

      • Black Widow

        • BorisG

I want too see Punk because if hes on we can see Lita. And this can actually make her have backstage segments with Natayla, Bellas, Cameron and the new lita Naomi.

  • wwestarlee

well i like what dolph had to say lol but punk well he’s cm punk he’s gonna say whatever he wants i guess

  • Black Widow

Well said Punk! Eventhough I really wanna see how Punk and Lita drama is played out on TV… LOL

    • Rebecca Blackett

I’d love to see Lita on the show, but i her love life should stay private, it didn’t end well last time.

  • PopOff

I love how Dolph never badmouths the Divas, it’s great to see some superstars support the Divas and don’t treat them as inferior.

  • oh-wow

The only reason I’d like to see Punk on total divas is so that I’ll get to see Lita, and it’ll be a reason for me to actually watch the show. However,he and Lita aren’t into that kind of stuff. Lita is a private person and no way she’ll air her love life on that.

  • JoeWWE

I agree with Punk! Good for him for telling it plainly. I like the show, its great but he does have a point in saying that he wouldn’t want his life acted out on television. I mean it must be great for the gals with all the publicity but when it comes down to it, they’re lives and themselves are being exploited by the WWE by something it/they aren’t.

  • PrinceArtie

Surprised at cm punks reaction why?? because he wouldn’t do a scripted show about his life?..

  • Makenzie

Finally someone is not afraid to speak the truth what Punk said is right. And how is he putting down the divas by saying he doesn’t want his life to be shown on television and scripted.

  • JJ

As much as I would like to agree with CM Punk, isn’t that technically what WWE is?

Just your wrestling career is acted out and not your entire life. Either way, they get reactions from audiences in and out of filming, or in this case, the ring. Most people believe what’s in the shows, even if it is scripted, or keyfabe. AJ Lee…enough said.
