While on the media rounds promoting Total Divas, the show’s stars were asked about Darren Young making history as the WWE’s first openly gay Superstar.
Brie and Nikki Bella, when done jawing with Extra host Maria Menounos about their SummerSlam Axxess match, were asked about Darren Young coming out.
Brie said she is “so proud” of him and think it’s “awesome” that he is standing up for who he is.
Nikki doesn’t think he’ll have any trouble in the locker room, as she says the WWE is actually one of the most accepting companies, saying that they’re like a big family.
While appearing on E! News, Natalya, Cameron and Naomi were asked the same questions.
Natalya says it is such a “proud moment” for the WWE and that they’re really happy for him.
Cameron’s best friend is gay, so naturally she was very accepting of Darren’s decision to come out.
Naomi is close friends with Darren, but was shocked to hear that he was gay. She thinks his decision to come out was very “courageous” and she is very proud of him.
On top of that, in both interviews, the Divas talk about their SummerSlam weekend bouts and what’s coming up on Total Divas.
