Tonight at Payback, two championships were put on the line, but only one Diva sacrificed her career for one.
Brie Bella, whose career was hanging in the balance if her husband Daniel Bryan didn’t relinquish the World Heavyweight Title to Stephanie McMahon, took her fate in her own hands. Instead of letting Daniel make the decision, she quit, slapping Stephanie in her shocking last action as a WWE Diva.
Meanwhile, Paige put her Divas Title on the line against Alicia Fox. The match was as physical and attention-grabbing as any of Alicia’s recent tantrums, the Divas putting out all the stops. In the end, it was the PTO that sealed Alicia’s fate, and she tapped out. Thus, Paige retained the Divas Championship and Alicia was left to air her frustrations… again.
