SummerSlam Predictions: Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon

Tonight at SummerSlam, Brie Bella faces off with Stephane McMahon. Who will come out on top? The Diva Dirt team weighs in:

Adrian: I’ve not been able to empathise with Brie at all in this storyline. I don’t find her entertaining and most of her actions are done with frustratingly poor judgment (slapping a helpless decoy in the most obvious set-up in history anyone?). It doesn’t help her that heel Steph is literally the best thing ever at the moment either. Also, what exactly is on the line in this match? Sure, Brie has bragging rights if she wins but Steph’ll still be her boss, she’ll just have an even bigger chip on her shoulder than before. For this reason, my money’s on Stephanie McMahon to win – but with the help of Brie’s sister Nikki. Nikki’s had to watch her twin hog the spotlight for weeks while making mistake after mistake – what better way for her to get her own back? Sad as it is to say, a Bellas feud is one of the few Diva-related angles the average WWE fan would actually be interested in watching – and this is the perfect place for it to start.

Bobby: Ignoring this past weeks Raw, this feud has been unreal and amazing in all sorts of ways. They’ve done a tremendous job building it up and I can’t wait to see what the two bust out at SummerSlam. Personally though, I think Stephanie McMahon has to win if this program will continue and it’s just too hot of a commodity not to. I’m not going to say KharmaPaige, this allows Brie to have momentum in continuing on in order to seek revenge, whereas if she wins I just don’t feel the same sort of excitement in seeing it go on if Stephanie gets her comeuppance this soon. It seems like this is either going to be amazing or an extreme letdown because of how high our expectations have been set from most of the past few weeks of TV, so I’m praying they make the most of it and truly shine as the stars they are.

Chris: I’M GONNA MAKE YOU MY BIT-! Oh, sorry. I just had to do that. This has been one of the best built Diva storylines in years, and my queen is finally returning to the ring. As much as this pains me to bet against my all time favorite, I don’t think there’s any way Stephanie picks up the win after one upping Brie two weeks in a row….unless she has something up her sleeve. Brie Bella wins via Yes! Lock.

Cryssi: This might be the most excited I’ve ever been for a match, period. My two all-time favorites facing off against each other at my all-time favorite pay-per-view in a match that has been more hyped than almost any other match on the card. This is a career making moment for Brie and she has been fantastic this entire angle. She has really fed off Stephanie’s energy and charisma and I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table. Part of me is feeling a swerve ending, with Nikki turning on Brie and costing her the match. But the other part of me sees Brie walking out the winner, with the “Yes” nation firmly behind her. I will not pick a winner for this match because I honestly don’t care who wins. I respect both of these women more than anything and I just want to be entertained.

Eleri: Brie has to win here, right? I don’t expect her and Steph to go for round two, so I don’t see Steph picking up the victory. Either way, I am mad excited about this match. The Queen is making her return in what has been an on point, incredible (let’s forget the adulterer claims, okay?) story. For me, it has to be Brie Bella.

Erin: Stephanie got the last laugh on Raw, so by traditional wrestling standards, Brie has to come out on top, right? Provided there are no extra shenanigans up Stephanie’s sleeves, Brie Bella has to have that underdog, Daniel Bryan-esque moment where she overcomes the odds and wins. It’s not as exciting as other scenarios I’ve pictured, but at the moment, it’s the most realistic.

Jack: I have been blown away with the spotlight this feud has been given and Stephanie has been solid gold throughout. I just cannot see Brie winning though, at least not yet. Similar to her husband’s situation, Brie will be tormented and not get her revenge properly and then months down the line, she’ll get her payoff. I’m praying for Kharma and predicting Stephanie McMahon will come out on top after revealing one of the many tricks she has up her sleeves.

Steven: While this storyline took a cheesy turn for the worst on Monday, it still has the potential to be one of the biggest Diva matches of all time. We all know that Stephanie isn’t really that qualified to wrestle, but I doubt she would agree to a match at one of her companies biggest PPVs, and make a fool of herself. I expect she’s been putting that fancy Performance Center and her world renowned Diva Trainer to work. I’m betting that Daniel Bryan will somehow come into play, judging by the not-so-subtle hints dropped on Raw (Brie’s new gear, Brie using the Yes Lock). My money is on Daniel running out to neutralize Triple H (who will certainly be interfering), helping his wife Brie Bella pick up the win.

BREAKDOWN: 4 for Brie, 3 for Stephanie.

Who do you agree with? Who is just dead wrong?
