Tonight’s AEW Dynamite is the two-year anniversary of the show and a huge women’s match is set to take place. Returning from injury, Serena Deeb will be facing the former and longest-reigning AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida.
Not only is this Dynamite’s two-year celebration, but Shida is looking for her 50th win. If achieved tonight, Shida will become the first woman in AEW history to reach this goal. And as crazy as it sounds, this will be Shida’s first match back on Dynamite since losing the title to Dr. Britt Baker in May. She has been racking up wins on both Dark and Elevation.
With Jade Cargill’s win on last week’s Rampage, she is currently sitting at the top of the women’s rankings. Despite not being on the rankings at this time, we have seen that it may not be over between Baker and Ruby Soho, so hopefully, we get more insight into that tonight.
