Beth Phoenix returns as Divas of Doom reunion is teased

Tonight at WWE Fastlane, Bayley and Sasha Banks successfully retained their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. However, the challengers Tamina and Nia Jax were sore losers by attacking the champions after the match.

Beth Phoenix – who had been playing play-by-play commentary during the match – took exception with this lack of sportsmanship. She scolded the two powerhouses, only to get swiftly knocked down for her troubles.

Following a leg drop from Nia Jax, Natalya attempted to make the save, but her efforts were for naught as she, too, got taken out. Tamina and Nia Jax left the ring to leave the champions, Nattie and Phoenix laid out. Could a Divas of Doom reunion be in the works?

For those who may be too young to remember, Beth Phoenix and Natalya formed a tag team called the Divas of Doom during late 2010. A highlight from the union was when they defeated Laycool at TLC 2010 in the first ever women’s Tag Team Tables match. Natalya also valeted in Phoenix’s corner during the Glamazon’s late 2011 run with the Divas Championship.

Their partnership quietly dissolved by the spring of 2012, but it seems like the besties might be bound for a comeback judging by how tonight’s angle played out.

Stay tuned with Diva Dirt as we provide updates on the nature of a potential Divas of Doom reunion match.
