With wrestling heavyweights like Trish Stratus already chiming in on the controversial run-on joke that is Natalya‘s flatulence gimmick, it was only a matter of time until her uncle Bret Hart was asked to comment on the angle.
In a recent interview with theScore, he said:
Sometimes things aren’t always in your control. Sometimes they do things to test you to see if you’re good enough to do something else.
You know, you can only imagine what it takes sometimes for someone to throw you a bone in wrestling, and what you have to do to get someone to throw you the bone and I think that they’re coping with it the best they can. Whenever I watch Natalya or even Tyson Kidd, when I watch them wrestle, I always go, ‘They’re probably still technically two of the better wrestlers on the show but they never seem to get a chance’.
I also know from my own career that it took a long time for me to get my break and I had to kind of swim in the bottom current for a long time, but hopefully it’ll get better for them. God knows how they push some of the guys they push on the wrestling shows these days.”
