We can all agree that, with a few exceptions, Divas get the short end of the stick when comes to entrance themes. While the male superstars get music from actual bands and artists or custom made songs with lyrics, Divas get stuck with crappy production music. If I had the chance I would change all the Divas music to something a little… well, better. Hence, Diva B-Sides was born; a Diva Dirt exclusive where we match WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts with new entrance themes. This week I’m covering ECW Divas Katie Lea and The Bella Twins.

THE BELLAS TWINS – “PATRON TEQUILA” BY PARADISO GIRLS

ECW’s resident dynamic duo debuted a new theme this Thursday on WWE Superstars, and boy was it awful. Not as bad Jenna’s music, but still cringe-worthy nonetheless. Sounds like these girls are in need of a emergency B-Side.

As Melanie pointed out on the Diva Dirt Twitter, their new theme sounds like cheap Pussycat Dolls rip-off. That said, what better than an imitation PCD to sing their B-Side?

Honestly speaking, I should be ashamed that I know (or like) this song, but I really think it’s energy and danceable beat suits the Bellas quite nicely. The subject matter may be a bit questionable, but who’s really paying that much attention to The Bellas. Really…

Katie’s B-Side after the cut

KATIE LEA BURCHILL – “I GET OFF” BY HALESTORM (Submitted By Diva Dirt Reader Randy Sommers)

Katie Lea also debuted a new entrance theme this Thursday as well and it also left me less than satistfied. It just sounded so generic, and for someone as unique as Katie, that’s a no-go.

This particular song was suggested by a Diva Dirt reader, and I couldn’t agree more. The song’s intro is sultry and mysterious and goes straight into hard guitar riffs in the chorus. I think it reflects Katie’s sinister, sexy image as well as her hard-hitting style. From start to finish, this song is all Katie Lea.

<Which B-Side were you feelin this week? Do these tracks have you pressing 'repeat' or 'delete'? Vote below!

[poll id = 418]

P.S: Look out for a very special Diva B-Sides surprise in the coming weeks!

This week, I tag with Melanie once again to find some B-Sides for SmackDown’s dark horse, Eve Torres:

STEVEN’S PICK: “WORK (DIVA DIRT MIX)” BY THE SATURDAYS

I’ve never been a fan of Eve’s entrance theme. It seems like the production team just did a eeny-meeny-miney-mo when they picked a theme for her. As she continues to rise through the ranks of WWE, I think she needs a new theme that better suits her character.

As a former dancer, I think the best choice for Eve would be an up-tempo, hip-hop track. I had not originally chosen ’Work’ for Eve’s B-Side, but the more I listened to it, the more it seemed to fit her. I truly think that coming down to the ring to a track like this would really help to bring some sass and personality out of this rookie Diva.

NOTE: I edited this track (badly) to the exact version that I would use for Eve’s theme. Enjoy!

MELANIE’S PICK: ‘DANCE BAILALO” BY KAT DELUNA

It might seem a bit stereotypical to pick a latin track for one of WWE’s resident Latina, but I have to agree with Melanie’s choice. Like ‘Work’, ‘Dance Bailalo’ has a upbeat rhythm that would definately fit Eve. Maybe she could get in touch with her roots and incorporate some ’Latina Heat’ into her entrance.

I also think that this song could work for Rosa Mendes, because Lord knows she’s in need of a new theme.

So what do you guys think? Do these tracks make you wanna dance or die? Let us know in the comments and vote for what B-Side you think is the best.

This week’s lucky girl is Jenna Morasca, who’s in desperate need of an emergency B-Side. Let’s get right into things:

Â

PICK #1: “SURVIVOR” BY DESTINY’S CHILD

I don’t have to tell you guys that Jenna’s current theme is a masterpiece, do I? A pure piece of musical genius! *COUGH* But seriously, the only thing worse than Jenna’s match at Victory Road was her entrance theme. Therefore, I decided to give Ms. Morasca a Diva B-Side intervention.

I think it was obvious that TNA was trying to tie in Jenna’s history on ‘Survivor’Â when they made her theme: “I will, I will survive!!!” While their efforts were admirable, it came off as some sort of weird gospel/disco hybrid that split the audience between laughing and cringing.

If TNA wanted to go the ‘Survivor’ route, the obvious choice would be this song by DC3 or something similar. Not only does it fit the theme, it’s a great song overall. The fact that it doesn’t make me want to stab myself in the ears with the nearest pointy object is an added plus.

Â

Pick #2: “WHEN I GROW UP”  BY MAYDAY PARADE

If Jenna did anything right at Victory Road, it was selling sex. Everything from her Beautiful People-esque entrance to that awkward, hard to watch pin, Jenna oozed sexuality (or skankiness depending on who you ask). So what’s the musical equivalent to that, you ask? The Pussycat Dolls, of course!

To be honest, I don’t really care for the PCD version of this song, so I picked a cover done by the Florida based band, Mayday Parade. This version has a little more edge than the original, but keeps the catchiness that makes it such a popular track.

So what do you think? Are you pressing ‘repeat’ or ‘delete’? Let us know in the comments and vote for what B-Side you think is the best.

This week I’m getting a little help from the one and only, Melanie. I also have a bonus B-Side for everyone’s favorite *cough* Diva. So let’s kick things off with today’s B-Side for TNA Knockout, Vict… er, I mean Tara.

Â

STEVEN’S PICK: “MOVING TO SEATTLE”  BY THE MATERIAL

Let me start of by saying, even though TNA’s stock music is the bane of my existence (see Jenna Morasca’s music), they’ve done a pretty good job with Tara’s music. It fits way better than her WWE music ever did.

That said, if I had to pick a new song for Tara, this would be the perfect choice. Like her current theme, ‘Broken’, “Moving To Seattle” starts of slow and dives head first into a guitar intro. It has that rock and roll feel that I always thought suited her more than her hip-hop-esque WWE entrance theme. It even has female vocals, which seem to be present in all of her entrance theme since her debut.Â

MELANIE’S PICK: “UNTOUCHED” BY THE VERONICAS

The chords in the intro of this song are reminiscent of “All The Things She Said”, Tara’s first ever theme. Because of the softer verses, this song would probably need a good edit before it’s entrance theme worthy. Maybe have the intro go right into the chorus?

Bonus B-Side after the cut

BONUS B-SIDEÂ FORÂ MARIA: “DEARÂ MARIA, COUNT ME IN” BY ALL TIME LOWÂ

I don’t how I overlooked this for Maria’s last B-Side. I mean, it has her name in it!

Like “Drop The Girl”, this song has the same punk rock theme as her current theme. And it has her name in it!

Couldn’t you just see her prancing down to the ring to this, in her animal print and fingerless gloves? And did I mention it has her name in it?

Â

We can all agree that, with a few exceptions, Divas get the short end of the stick when comes to entrance themes. While the male superstars get music from actual bands and artists or custom made songs with lyrics, Divas get stuck with crappy production music. If I had the chance I would change all the Divas music to something a little… well, better. Hence, Diva B-Sides was born; a Diva Dirt exclusive where we match WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts with new entrance themes. Today B-Side is for Smackdown’s resident (and I use this term loosely) fashionista, Maria:

PICK #1: “DROP THE GIRL” BY HIT THE LIGHTS

Maria actually happen to be one of the only Divas on the roster to have an actual song for her entrance theme. Unfortunately, that doesnt make it any less annoying.

I was never a fan of Zebrahead (the band that made her theme),  so I was cringing long before I heard the entire song. I decided to pick a band that is equally nasally, but half as annoying.

“Drop The Girl” sounds strangely similar to “With Legs Like That”. They both have a punk rock feel that compliments Maria image, or at least the image she’s trying to convey. The best part however, is the subliminal messages not-s0-hidden in there. “Drop the Girl/She’s not worth the time”. Hmm… I’ll leave it at that.

Hear Maria’s B-side and my second pick after the cut:

PICK #2: “WHYYAWANNABRINGMEDOWN” BY KELLY CLARKSON (submitted by Melanie… Kinda)

In my last Diva B-Side, Melanie suggested this song for our current Women’s Champion, Michelle McCool. However,  I feel this song is better suited to our flame-haired Diva. It has a spastic energy to it, which is appropriate because ‘spastic’ is one of my top five words to describe Maria. It also has that feminine touch that my first pick is lacking:

So what do you guys think? Do you you want to add these songs to your playlist or are you ready to flip the record. Leave your thoughts and suggestions in the comments. If you have Diva B-Sides of your own e-mail to me at steven@diva-dirt.com with Diva B-Sides in the subject line. Maybe you’ll see your pick in a future post.

Welcome to Diva B-Sides, the Diva Dirt exclusive where we match WWEÂ Divas and TNA Knockouts with new entrance themes. In honor of this Sunday’s PPV, The Bash, I’ve decided to take exception to my new one-Diva-per-post rule to bring you guys a B-Side for both the champion and the challenger. Let’s get right into things with the #1 contender Michelle McCool:

MICHELLE’S PICK: “BREAKING DISHES” BY RIHANNA

I think we can all agree that Michelle’s current theme has long wore out it’s welcome. It just doesn’t fit her new persona. She could also stand to change that tron, because running along the beach in a skimpy bikini just doesnt scream ‘heel’ to me. Alas that’s another post for another time.

At first listen, this song might not seem to fit Michelle, but I think it’s message of being a powerful woman, girl power etc. fits her perfectly. I think that a song with so much character such as this one could help McCool make up in the charisma department (where she is somewhat lacking).

 Melina’s Pick after the break:

MELINA’S PICK: “STARSTRUCK” BY LADY GAGA

I’m pretty sure that this is going to spark up some debate, as Melina’s theme, ‘Paparazzi’ is one of the most popular Diva themes. However, like Michelle’s theme, I feel that it’s run its course.

No one can deny that Melina is a star in her own right, so it’s only fitting that I pick a song with ‘Star’ in the title. I feel Melina could really work this bass-driven tune while strutting down the red carpet like only she can. With any luck, Melina can make sure Michelle is Starstruck as well, so she can pick up the win.

What did did you guys think? Are you putting these tracks on ‘repeat’ or are you searching for the ’skip’ button? Leave your thoughts and suggestions in the comments. Also if you have any Diva B-Sides of your own, send them to me at steven@diva-dirt.com with Diva B-sides in the subject line.
Welcome to Diva B-Sides, the Diva Dirt exclusive where we match WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts with new entrance themes. This week I’m introducing a slightly different format for Diva B-Sides. From now on I will only cover ONE Diva/Knockout per post, but I’ll provide at least two songs per Diva/Knockout. Now that we’ve got the formalities out of the way, let’s get right into things. This week Diva B-Side is for SmackDown Diva Alicia Fox.

PICK #1: “SUPERSONIC” BY FAMILY FORCE 5

Alicia really hit the jackpot when she got sent to the blue brand in this year’s draft. Unfortunately, she crapped out again when it comes to her entrance theme. The Diva Dirt Team, as well as the majority of you readers agreed that Alicia’s new Nelly-esque theme is not doing the job. I know I already did a B-Side for Alicia, but her new theme in conjunction with her recent heel turn more than warranted a second go-round.

I usually wouldn’t have picked a rock song for Alicia, but this song in particular has a really cool hip hop beat meshed with some hard guitar riffs. It’s a really unique song, but I think Alicia has the personality to rock it out.

Pick #2 after the break:

PICK #2: “GOODIES” BY CIARA

When I first heard Alicia’s FCW theme I thought “This sounds like Goodies”. While I love her FCW theme, why not just just spring for the real thing? I would love to see Alicia strutting down to the ring to this tune, especially with some gold around her waist. * hint hint WWE*

So what do guys think? Do you like my choices or are you ready to press fast forward? Laeve your thoughts and suggestions in the comments. Also if you have any Diva B-Sides of your own, send them to me at Steven@diva-dirt.com with Diva B-sides in the subject line.

We can all agree that, except for a few exceptions, Divas get the short end of the stick when comes to entrance themes. While the male superstars get music from actual bands and artists or custom made songs with lyrics, Divas get stuck with crappy production music. If I had the chance I would change all the Divas music to something a little… well, better. And that’s just what I’m going to do. Here’s a few changes I would make to the Divas’ soundtrack:
Â

THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE – “DRAMA QUEEN” BY FAMILY FORCE 5

The name say it all. If there was a phrase to describe this malicious trio, it would be “Drama Queen”. Besides the name, the song’s rock and roll feel fits their image perfectly. I originally picked “Bad Girl” by Danity Kane for them, but I didn’t think it complimented them as well.Â

Â

• • • • •

GAIL KIM – “DIRTY DESIRE” BY UTADA (submitted by Melanie)

This song was brought to my attention by my favorite editor-in-chief, Melanie. I agree that this is an awesome match for Smackdown’s newest diva, Gail Kim. It has that WWE entrance theme feel, without being cheesy. The “Love you long time” line is borderline offensive, but I guess it’s OK since she said it . Anyone who has heard Gail’s new theme would agree this is a welcome change, I’m sure. Â

• • • • •

SOJOURNER BOLT – “LIKE ME” BY GIRLICIOUS

With Sojourner Bolt’s new face turn, I think a upbeat new theme would fit her great. The song has a good beat, even if the group who sings it is massively annoying. The lyrics support Sojo’s theory that Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed are  out to get her. Too bad a great theme won’t help Sojo get over with the fans.

Leave your opinions and suggestion in the comments. Enjoy!

We can all agree that, except for a few exceptions, Divas get the short end of the stick when comes to entrance themes.
An obvious choice for Raw’s resident pop star, Jillian Hall. I could see Jillian strutting down the ramp to the tunes of her idol. Hopefully she’ll take a page outta Britney’s book and leave the live singing to those who are actually good at it.

LAYLA – “RIGHT ROUND” BY FLO RIDA

A throwback to her Extreme Expose days, “Right Round” is perfect song for Layla. With her background in dance, I’m sure she could make the best of the song’s pounding hip-hop beat. Too bad we won’t be seeing her dance much while she’s with William Regal.

TIFFANY – “PRICE OF COMPANY” BY THE WHITE TIE AFFAIR

From what we’ve seen on ECW, Tiffany doesn’t seem to have much of a personality. That’s why I chose a equally generic and unknown band for her B-Side. I’m sure Tiffany would have no problem making this surprisingly good (albeit unoriginal) techno-esque track her own.

Â

Alicia Fox- “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga

The name says it all. This would be the perfect song to fit Alicia Fox’s disco dancing gimmick. Not to mention, it would be a welcome change from her current Jacko-esque theme.  The lyrics fit her outlook totally: “Just dance/ Gonna be OK”. This would have to be her theme alone, because the thought of DJ Gabriel dancing down  the ramp to this is laughable.

Â

LADY GAGA “JUST DANCE”

Kelly Kelly- “Take Me Away” by Fefe Dobson

This song is a guilty pleasure of mine, but I think that it has a youthful energy that compliments Kelly Kelly well. Right out the gate, the song hits hard and it’s sure to get the crowd behind K2. All should be well as long as she doesnt try to dance to it. *shudder*

Â

FEFE DOBSON “TAKE ME AWAY”

Â

Katie Lea – “Breathe Today” by Flyleaf

An underated band for an underated diva. I think the song’s hardcore feel work well with Katie Lea’s mysterious, sinister attitude. I originally selected Evanescence for ECW’s incestual Vixen, but the slower songs just didn’t do her justice. The smashmouth sound of Flyleaf is just the right style for Katie.

Â

FLYLEAF “BEATHE TODAY”

So what do you think? Agree with my choices? Comment and leave suggestions for these and other Divas. Â
