The website states that Torres was rushed backstage after tagging out of the match as she was bleeding profusely from her nose following a clothesline from Divas Champion, Beth Phoenix.

Early word, according to the report, is that she may have suffered a broken nose.

Layla and Sgt. Slaughter appear on NBC Miami.

Injured WWE Diva Layla has told NBC Miami that she is training for her in-ring return to WWE following an ACL and MCL tear last year, however, there is a chance that she may not be back by WrestleMania 28 on April 1st. The event is set to take place in her hometown of Miami.

Layla, who was injured in May last year, has been rehabbing and recently began wrestling training to prepare for her return. The former Women’s Champion didn’t reveal when she’d be returning to TV, but “hopes to return soon”, says NBC Miami.

The website adds, however: “There’s still a chance, however, that Layla may not be able to compete in the annual extravaganza”, referring to ‘Mania in Miami.

Additionally, the British star commented on her eventual return: “I’m going to bring excitement and entertainment, and I want people to want to watch the divas wrestle. And I’ll be back stronger than ever, and ready to take over the diva’s division.”

Thoughts: With an injury as serious as this, Layla shouldn’t come back too early just for the sake of it, but make sure she is fully healed and ready to return to the ring. In the past, WWE has rushed other Divas who’ve suffered ACL tears into returning sooner than they should have and it doesn’t help anyone. It would be sad if Layla missed ‘Mania in her hometown, but her being 100% healed is what is most important.

WWE physician Dr. Michael Sampson is quoted as saying:

“AJ is pretty beat up, as you can imagine. She has head trauma, a cervical sprain/strain and also multiple contusions all over her body.”

Still, no matter when the numerous physical injuries subside, is it possible that the emotional scars could run much deeper? An impact like the one AJ experienced would be a traumatic situation for anyone. With that in mind, could the sheer memory of it keep the spunky beauty out of action indefinitely? If she does return, will she be the same positive force inside the ring that she was before she was run over by the 441 pound behemoth?

Fans tweeted their concern for the Glamazon last night as a trainer was spotted running to the ring after the match to check on Beth. It looks like Foxy’s somersault leg drop did a number on the champion.

Beth commented on the injury via her Twitter page, writing: “@AliciaFoxy tried her hardest to destroy my face. There will be hell to pay for trying to tarnish my beauty.”

She then added: “Another angle of @AliciaFoxy ‘s damage. After hours in the trainers room, I broke a lot of mirrors with my fists.”

Serena has had to pull out of a match for CHIKARA next weekend as a result for her injury. She is due to face former WWE Women’s Champion Melina in a high profile match for WSU next month. No word on whether that match will change.

Serena wrote:

A message to all my supporters- I recently sustained a rather serious concussion and following my doctors instructions, will not wrestle for a period of time. I apologize to those who were looking forward to seeing me anytime in the near future. I will keep you all posted.

I met with my surgeon today and she said everything is perfect. There’s a little bit of fluid inside by the incision and where the repairs were done, but its totally normal apparently. The scar healed really good and there is no infection. So the surgery was a total success. I’m sooooooo happy!!!

Good to hear. Hopefully Maryse will be back on TV soon.

Maryse had abdominal surgery last week for a hernia that has been troubling her in recent weeks.

Following her surgery, she provided a status update via her Facebook page, writing:

I am home now, and feeling good, still very tired from the anesthesia, but its normal, i will be posting pics of my tummy when they remove the bandages, my doctor did an amazing job and the scar should be very small in my belly button! be sexy

Maryse announced the injury, which has prevented her from competing in the ring, a few weeks ago. Today she revealed that she’ll be having surgery tomorrow.

TNA Knockout, Mickie James suffered a slightly separated shoulder at last night’s TNA house show in Jacksonville, Florida.

James competed in a match against Madison Rayne. ProWrestling.net reports that a botched spot during the match led to the injury.

Mickie is still scheduled to appear tonight when TNA heads to Savannah, Georgia.

WSU Tag Champion Tina San Antonio twisted her ankle & tore a ligament last night by slipping on a wet staircase. Her doctor told her not to put weight on it for 2-3 weeks. As a result, it looks like Tina may not be able to wrestle on 3/5 at WSU’s Four Year Anniversary Show iPPV event on GoFightLive.tv. WSU has told Tina to take the show off & recoup, rather than worsening the injury and affecting her other bookings.

Tina is going for a 2nd opinion on Tuesday. As of right now, it looks like Tina will now miss the 3/5 show. WSU will have more on her injury on our upcoming UNCENSORED TV show which will be out tomorrow. WSU will make a decision on how to handle the upcoming “Fans Bring the Weapons” Uncensored Rules Three Way Dance match for the WSU Tag Team titles that Tina was scheduled to be in, and defend her WSU Tag Titles in. WSU does not like false advertising, which is why we are putting this news update out now. WSU is going to wait to hear from Tina on Tuesday once she gets her second opinion. However it does not look good that Tina will be able to compete on 3/5 and we wanted to give fans advanced notice.

Thoughts: It sucks to see anyone injured so close to the show, especially since this match has been in the works for quite some time. Hopefully the company will be able to come up with a solution. Get well soon, Tina!

Doc is going to try physical therapy before prescribing surgery. Let’s hope that is the cure. I have appt with Physical Therapist at 7AM.

As you’ll have seen, Tara has been wrestling with a brace protecting her elbow in recent weeks.

On her Twitter page, Tara wrote: “Tore a ligament in my elbow last night in a match against @mickiejames. It was my good elbow, but we made history. We were main event.”

The match in which she was injured will air this Thursday. From all accounts it was a very, very good match but I won’t spoil the exact details here.

The Glamazon has been out of action since May with a torn ACL. Beth has been working out in FCW in Tampa, FL over the past couple of months preparing for her comeback.

Thoughts: That sound is David (Mr Glamazon) letting out a sigh of relief! I wonder if Beth will be this year’s post-Survivor Series return? For the past two years, we have seen a Diva return on the first show back after Survivor Series (Melina, Maryse), so it seems to make sense that Beth would be placed on the first SmackDown after that pay per view. Obviously, it’s expected that Beth will pick up where she left off against Lay-Cool and rightfully so. That storyline never ran its course due to Beth’s injury and I’m excited to see them pick it back up. It’ll be interesting, to say the least, to see Beth go after the Divas Title (lulz). The question this then leaves is, where does this leave Natalya?

Beth has been sidelined since May.

Interestingly, the Observer says the feud will be Beth vs Michelle, with no mention of Layla. I want to assume that it’ll be a feud with both Lay and Cool since the now co-Unified Divas Champions have shown no sign of splitting up anytime soon.

Kong competed for the WSU World Championship at EVOLVE on Saturday followed by SHIMMER on Sunday. According to Mike Johnson, Kong opted not to back out of her commitments but her matches were re-worked around her injury.

Yesterday, Kong made her return to SHIMMER at the Volume 35 taping, defeating Kellie Skater.

TNA Knockout, Sarita may be injured according to reports in various lucha libre publications.

Sarita, who competes as Dark Angel in Mexico, was due to appear for CMLL yesterday but was replaced on the card due to an arm injury, reports Luchablog.

Meanwhile, the magazine Ovaciones also reports that Sarita — real name Sarah Stock — had to pull out due to injury.

We are hoping to hear more about this soon. If true, it would be a big blow for Sarita who is on quite a roll in TNA at the moment. It seems like the Knockouts Championship was the next stop for her, but this would obviously be a major setback.

SmackDown Diva Kelly Kelly was apparently injured during her match last night at a house show in Portland, Maine.

Kelly faced co-Women’s Champion Layla and at some point in the match, tweaked either her shoulder or neck reports PWInsider. The match was stopped and the ‘X’ sign signalling injury was thrown up by the referee.

Injured Knockouts, Angelina Love and Daffney have been given the all clear to return to action, Dixie Carter has announced via her Twitter page. She writes:

Great news. Angelina Love and Daffney have been cleared for action & will be back in the coming weeks. We have missed you guys.

Love was injured in a triple threat match involving now former Knockout Tara and Knockouts Champion, Madison Rayne during an Impact taping in late April. She suffered a partial bicep tear and complete ulnar collateral ligament tear.

Meanwhile, the Scream Queen was hurt during a tryout match with Team 3D Academy student, Betsy Ruth who went on to be signed by TNA and will debut as Rosie Lottalove on this week’s episode of Impact. Daffney suffered badly bruised sternum after Ruth reversed a sunset flip by sitting on her.

Great to hear both Knockouts are ready to come back, the Knockouts division is obviously in need some of steady hands. Love seems to be the clear choice to be the top Knockout and lead the division as a former three-time Knockouts Champion. However, it looks like it’ll be a while before we see them. TNA taped three/four weeks of television last week, we should see the pair back following the Slammiversary pay per view on June 13th.

The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix underwent surgery at 7am ET this morning and has tweeted, presumably from her hospital bed, that she is doing fine and that the surgery was successful.

She writes: “All done!! They said they used extra parts from RoboCop’s knee surgery and spare tissue from a Liger [sic]. I feel great!!”

Beth was injured two weeks ago during a WWE Superstars taping and was later diagnosed with a torn ACL.

Three-time WWE Women’s Champion, Beth Phoenix has posted a lengthy blog on her injury, which as reported earlier in the week was much more severe than first thought — Phoenix tore her ACL. She writes:

Two weeks ago on Superstars, I had a match against new SmackDown Diva, Rosa Mendes. During the course of the match I was able to reverse an Irish Whip into the corner and counter Rosa with an Up and Over maneuver where I jump out of the turnbuckle, over her and show her what The Glamazon is made of. However, when I landed, feet side by side, as I have thousands of times over the course of my career, my left knee buckled to the side and I heard a very distinctive, “Crunch.”

My first instinct was to retain the WWE Women’s Championship at all costs and found the opportunity to dodge Rosa’s attack and get the pinfall victory. However, as I tried to stand to get my hand raised, I could tell something was definitely not right.

I was immediately examined by our WWE medical staff whom decided it would be a good idea to get things checked via an MRI. As I sat in the doctor’s office, waiting for the results, all I could think about was the WWE Women’s Championship and how I was not about to let anything get in the way of working to bring prestige to the title that I cherish so dearly.

Then I received the devastating news. My injury was much worse than I would let myself believe. The doctor explained that I had a generous bone bruise, torn and displaced Meniscus, sprained my MCL and had completely torn my ACL. The prognosis from him … surgery.

Unfortunately it’s not good news for WWE Women’s Champion, Beth Phoenix. The Glamazon has been diagnosed with a torn ACL after suffering an injury at last week’s SmackDown tapings in a match against Rosa Mendes.

It had been hoped that the injury was a minor ankle injury and Beth was taken off last week’s Mexican tour in order to rest up and return in time for this week’s SmackDown taping in her hometown of Buffalo, New York. However it became apparent that the injury is much more severe than first thought. Sources suggest that Phoenix could be out of action for an upward of six months.

Fans will see how WWE handles her injury on tomorrow’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Phoenix’s injury is the same one that fellow three-time Women’s Champion, Melina is currently on the sidelines with.

Though Phoenix insisted on her Twitter page that she is fine, it looks as though there is more to the story as Beth was scheduled to travel to Mexico yesterday for the scheduled tour.

The champion has been given time off to tend to what the Observer refers to as a ‘minor ankle injury’, with hopes of returning at next week’s SmackDown taping in her hometown of Buffalo, New York.

New WWE Women’s Champion, Beth Phoenix was injured last night during the WWE Superstars and SmackDown taping, it has been confirmed.

Phoenix wrestled Rosa Mendes in a match taped for Thursday’s episode of Superstars. During the match, Beth went down and the referee threw up the ‘X’ arm gesture to signify an injury. The champion did however, continue the match which was quickly wrapped up.

One source tells us that Beth was seen on crutches following the taping. We hope to have more soon.

Of course, the timing of this injury is extremely bad with Beth just being crowned the new Women’s Champion. Plus, with the release of Mickie James, WWE is light on popular babyface Divas right now. Let’s hope this isn’t serious.

Looks like this could have just been a ‘stinger’. Great to hear that she is okay because this could have been a disaster for the already depleted SmackDown Divas division.

TNA Knockout, Daffney, who was hurt during a dark match at Tuesday night’s Impact taping, posted the following on her MySpace page:

I sunset flipped my opponent but she stayed standing – then she sat down which caused the bruised sternum. Honestly, after that, I went into auto-pilot mode. I do not remember the rest of the match – even the finishing move (sitdown spinebuster) and the 1-2-3. You can ask any wrestler if they have finished a match while they were unconscious, and almost everyone of them will tell you they have.

Next thing I remember was Andrew Thomas (our awesome ref) saying, “Trainer!” He said I was laying there with my eyes wide open and asked me numerous times if I was okay – but I must have been in my own little world as I recall nothing of that.

When the trainers & everyone came to the ring, our TNA on site trainer came up near my head and I told him that my lower sternum hurt. I also told him my neck hurt – yet felt weird and it felt very warm. He then told me to go ahead and straighten my leg. From the hush that fell and tense vibe in the air, I said, ” It’s not moving, is it?” They all distracted me with other routine questions. A few minutes later he asked me to wiggle my toes. Same tense air that could be cut with a butter knife. Me: “They’re not moving, huh?” The whole time I just stared straight to the top of the Impact Zone and prayed. Everyone around me was saying reassuring things so I just stayed still and answered questions. The next time I was asked to wiggle my toes, I could feel them going – and there was a collected sigh of relief. Stingers – (especially bad ones) can make you go numb for a short while – so once the sensation came back I kept praying, “It’s just a stinger. And NO – my sternum/ribs aren’t broken…” X-rays at the hospital showed just that. :)

Are you there God? It’s me…Daff. :)

SO! Not much one can do for those injuries. A stinger is just VERY scary at first. Then your neck tightens up and is sore – so I have already begun some stretching. The sternum is a deep bruise. So that will just take a little while…. But ya’ll know me…I’m a fighter!

It sounds like a really scary moment to be laying there motionless, but thank god Daffney is okay. Here’s to a speedy recovery, Daff!

As well as Daffney, now former Knockouts Champion Angelina Love was hurt at last night’s Impact tapings confirms TNA President, Dixie Carter. She writes on her Twitter page:

TNA Knockout Daffney is doing okay according to the company’s president, Dixie Carter on her Twitter page. Dixie wrote:

Daffney has been released from the hospital. She has a deeply bruised sternum & a severe stinger (temp spinal trauma) but no nerve damage.

Daffney was hurt prior to last night’s Impact tapings in a tryout match with Team 3D Academy trainee, Betsy Ruth. Sources that have worked with Ruth in the past tell me that she is known to be a stiff worker.

Reports are circulating that Daffney has been injured in a tryout match prior to tonight’s Impact taping (to air next Monday). The following report is courtesy of WrestlingNewsWorld.com:

TNA Knockout Daffney was seriously injured in a tryout match prior to the start of tonight’s Impact taping from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Daffney was working with independent worker Betsy Ruth (who also works as Miss Betsy). Rosie is a student of the Team 3D Wrestling Academy.

The injury occurred when Betsy hit a bonsai drop off the ropes, crushing Daffney. Daffney laid motionless for several minutes as an ambulance was called and a stretcher was brought out. The bottom ring rope was removed to get her out.

Upon loading her on the stretcher, Daffney was moving her hands. Ring announcer Dave Penzer addressed the crowd, saying she is going to be OK but everything was done for precautionary purposes. Daffney is being transported to a near-by hospital.

We hope to have more information soon. Between this and the news about LuFisto, it seems like a very sad night. We hope Daffney is doing okay.

Fans have been questioning ODB‘s whereabouts ever since the Knockout disappeared from television over a month ago. Her absence, according to WrestlingNewsWorld.com, is due to a ruptured breast implant suffered earlier in the year.

Apparently, she put off surgery until after the Genesis PPV, where she dropped the Knockouts Championship to Tara. A date for her return is not yet known, but she did work a show over the weekend, so that could indicate that she may be ready to grace the Impact Zone again. I would say get well soon, but it seems as though she already has!

Breast implant ruptures seem to be a work-related hazard, as far as Mickie James, Gail Kim, and even Chyna are concerned. It seems like those things need to be reinforced with titanium, lest we have an epidemic on our hands.

Five time Women’s Champion, Mickie James has pushed back the release of her debut album ‘Strangers & Angels’ which was due for release next week. In a new blog, Mickie told fans that the album will now be released in mid-May.

She writes: “I have come to the decision to push back the release of my album “Strangers & Angels” to mid May. After WrestleMania, after the Draft, after the tours… . main focus now, as it should be, is to get myself 150% for WrestleMania first and foremost.”

Mickie, who was treated for staph infection earlier this month also discusses the extent of her injuries which threatens to take her out of the WrestleMania mix:

Then, this is the second time in 2 months that I have ever been sent home from the road, both for the same reason. A Staph Infection, but not just any, as I found out in the hospital it’s MRSA. The first was from the most recent Mexico Tour where I was sent to Tampa to be treated. Then it came back worse than before this last time during the live event Loop in Texas where I was sent home. Then immediately admitted to the hospital in Richmond. To all the WWE universe who came to any of the shows or have watched in the last few weeks to see me. I am truly sorry and please know that I wanted to be there more than anything. Both times I tried to fight it, I fought with the doctors. I fought with my boss.. to just let me work through it, “its just an infection.. No big deal… I’ve worked through worse with a smile on my face” but thankfully for me, they wouldn’t hear of it! I cant express how truly grateful I am that they didn’t listen to me.

I didn’t realize the severity of the infection and how bad it was. When i was admitted into the hospital I went straight into surgery to get the infection out of my body. They also told me I wouldn’t make it to Wrestlemania. I told them they were wrong.. Watch me! When I woke up i was devastated… My leg was in an immobilizer, my knee was sliced open with tubes coming from it t help drain it. As the days passed in the hospital I found out more and more about the infection, about how bad mine truly was. The nurses also explained to me what could have happened if it had gone a little longer untreated. The infection had already gotten into my bloodstream and I was extremely ill.. A few more day meant I could have lost my leg.. Even my life… So I really want to take this moment to say thank you to them all from the bottom of my heart… To our Doctors, the Dr.’s who treated me, and my Boss(who always has to deal with my stubborn ways..haha)! It is because of you that I am getting better everyday, That I am able to write this, that I have my leg, that I have my life, I love you, God Bless You!

In what should explain her recent in-ring absences, Mickie James just broke the news on her Twitter that she underwent surgery on Monday, accompanying her tweets with a picture of wrapped up right leg. PWInsider reports that the cause was a staph infection, which doctors have been working to clear out with this and a previous procedure. According to them, there is no timetable for her return to the ring, though she mentions WrestleMania in one of her tweets, so one can only assume she’ll be in fighting shape in time for a WrestleMania appearance.

The staph infection could have any number of causes, but it is great that doctors detected it and have moved fast to treat it, and Mickie’s optimistic tweets are a good sign as to her condition. Staph infections can be extremely dangerous, as is common knowledge, so it is fantastic that she’s addressed it and is on the road to recovery. We wish Mickie all the best of luck and health!

Melina, then-Divas Champion, was hurt at a house show just days after Christmas.

A successor to her title run was only crowned this week.

One half of the newly crowned TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions, Hamada sprained her ankle during the Knockouts tag team match on Monday night. Hamada was noticeably limping around halfway through the match and it was also picked up by Taz on commentary.

Being the incredible athlete that she is, Hamada worked through the rest of the match with relative ease and won’t miss any ring time, she wrestled again at the Tuesday taping. Nonetheless, get well soon Hamada!

After suffering an injury in a match on Dec. 29 in Manchester, N.H., Melina underwent an MRI today, which confirmed that she tore her left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Due to this, she will be out of action for six months and have to forfeit her Divas Championship.

Melina actually had an MRI last week, I’m guessing results came in today is what they mean. Anyway, get well soon, Melina!

Diva Dirt has independently confirmed reports that Divas Champion, Melina has torn her ACL. The newly crowned Diva Dirt Diva of the Year was given a full diagnosis yesterday.

As of now, Melina could be out for three to five months, though it is too soon to tell. Melina is awaiting results of an MRI undergone yesterday before choosing a course of action.

A source close to Melina tells us that the Divas Champion is in good spirits though obviously upset.

As for her title status, Melina will be in attendance at Raw on Monday night. It’s expected that she will relinquish the Divas Championship on the show. This is just conjecture on my part but it’s likely a new champion will be crowned on the same night.

The extent of Divas Champion, Melina‘s injury is not yet fully known after she was hurt in the ring at a house show on Tuesday night. The Diva will undergo an MRI exam at some point today for a full diagnosis.

After the incident, Melina received medical attention and continued to travel to Syracuse, NY for last night’s final house show of the year. She was however, kept out of the ring and has been using crutches.

Divas Champion, Melina was injured at a house show last night during a six-Diva Santa’s Little Helper match.

Melina visibly hurt her right leg during the bout and had to be helped to the back afterwards. The match was given a quick finish after the injury, at this time trainers came down to the ring and threw up an ‘X’ sign signifying an injury. PWInsider reports that there is a fear that Melina may have torn her ACL.

Newly returned TNA Knockout, Roxxi was injured last night at the New Year’s Knockout Eve taping. TNA President, Dixie Carter wrote on her Twitter that Roxxi broke her ankle in two places.

Reports suggest that Raw’s Alicia Fox may be injured with a dislocated shoulder. The injury took place last weekend and one site reports that Fox will miss two-three weeks of in-ring action.
