As reported yesterday, Jenny Sjodin retained the EVE Championship by defeating Shanna and April Davids at XWA.

The event which took place in Cleveland, Ohio, was headlined by Sara Del Rey challenging Mickie Knuckles for the AIW Women’s Championship. Also in action were Mia Yim, Marti Belle, Veda Scott and others.

Canadian wrestler Cherry Bomb was originally advertised for the event and due to face Allysin Kay, however, she wasn’t in attendance.

Talk about a shocker!

Kharma returned to WWE television as a surprise entrant during the Royal Rumble match making her only the third female in history to compete in the Rumble.

Kharma, who has been away since late May 2011 due to pregnancy, eliminated Michael Cole and Hunico before being eliminated by Dolph Ziggler. However, before her elimination, she managed to hit him with the Implant Buster.

For the second month in a row, the Divas got an impromptu pay per view match. This time Beth Phoenix lead the team of the Bella Twins and Natalya against Kelly Kelly, Eve, Alicia Fox and Tamina.

The Divas Champ scored a big victory for her team by pinning Kelly Kelly for the second month in a row in a pretty good 8-Diva tag team match up.

Other highlights included Kelly hitting a crossybody to the outside on all of the Divas.

Hiya everybody (insert “Hi, Dr. Nick” reply from you all) and welcome to another one of those rare FCW related segments that does not take place on television.

This weekend I attended another thrilling, chilling live event from the developmental territory, which featured some pretty stellar matches and a meet and greet with former WWE Women’s Champion, Layla, who was nothing short of awesome. She was easy to talk to and very great to meet, as she talked a little about how frightening her recent injury was and that she’s on the road to recovery. On top that, there was also an assortment of FCW Superstars and Divas around the arena to meet throughout the show as well.

But as always, there was also a match involving the Divas of FCW, which saw current reigning Queen and Divas Champion, Raquel Diaz team up with former Tough Enough standout, Sofia Cortez (Ivelisse Velez) as they took on the fan favorites Audrey Marie and SmackDown Diva, Kaitlyn. Not only that, but the special guest referee was none other than new signee, Saraya (Britani Knight), who was decked out in her finest stripes to officiate the contest.

Check out some highlights and pictures below:

* Danielle Moinet covered the announcing duties and did a great job. She would get a lot of “woos” from the crowd every time she entered the ring, which was pretty funny (especially considering the main event was a “no ring ropes” match so she pretended to enter through them anyways to get the reaction).

* Saraya made her way out from the back as the referee which immediately caused me to erupt in a round of applause in her presence.

* Raquel and Sofia entered to Angela Fong’s old music randomly, but they were full on heel during their entrance and looked great together.

* Kaitlyn and Audrey entered to “You Make the Rain Fall” I believe, which is of course the greatest song known to man.

* Before the bell sounded, Saraya hilariously checked all four girls for weapons, which included slapping Audrey on the bottom and irking Sofia when she did the same to her.

* The match was actually pretty awesome. I remember one spot where Audrey Marie did a matrix to dodge Raquel’s clothesline and then flipped herself backwards into a whirlybird headscissors (while in chaps… now that takes talent).

* Sofia and Raquel worked Audrey over for the most part, as the crowd kept getting behind the cow girl to tag in Kaitlyn.

* Once Kaitlyn got the tag in, she erupted all over the duo. Off the top of my head, I think of this one shoulder tackle she did that looked like a jet because she flew so fast. All of her moves were great and she looked really comfortable in the ring. She’s improved dramatically since her season of NXT and hopefully she gets some more matches on TV to show it off.

* The end came when Raquel hit a Thesz Press on Audrey to take both of them out of the equation and leave Kaitlyn and Sofia (who have insane chemistry together) alone. Kaitlyn lifted Sofia up into the air in an elevated full nelson type submission, but Sofia managed to roll through it into a victory roll for the three count.

* After the match, Raquel and Sofia ran up the ramp as the Divas Champion snapped at Danielle to not take so long bringing her crown and title next time.

* Overall, definitely a great show and time at the event. Anyone who lives in a Florida area (as they pretty much travel all over the state) should check one out whenever they can.

In the first bracket is Savannah Summers vs. Nikita Naridian (debut) and Melody Summers vs. KC Cassidy (another debut). Kudos to RCW!

January 28th, 2012 – MCW (Thornbury, VIC):  Shazza McKenzie vs. Eliza Sway vs. Savannah Summers in triple-threat action

Other tidbits: It looks as though PWAQ’s second “Queen of the Warriors” tournament has been cancelled, with the company announcing a temporary hiatus until April… From February 15-18, Niki Nitro will join EPW India for a tour, wrestling UK’s Erin Angel… Shazza McKenzie will be touring America for a few months starting February – her first international match has been announced (vs. Simply DVyne at IndyGurlz in Lebanon, PA on March 10, 2012)… Much like future WWE developmental star Tenille, Nikita Naridian will also be temporarily relocating to Canada to attend Lance Storm’s Storm Wrestling Academy.

This past weekend saw what is being considered the final wrestling event at the infamous ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA, and one woman can boast that she was part of the historic double-header which featured shows from CZW and EVOLVE. Mia Yim effectively became the last female to compete in the ECW Arena, facing Greg Excellent during the CZW portion of events.

The intergender match, rather fitting considering the arena’s history of gender-bending violence (Bill Alfonso vs Beulah, anyone?), saw Yim and Excellent face off in a rematch from their fantastic match at November’s Night of Infamy show. Once again, however, Yim lost the match, but did win over the fans and her opponent. The crowd rather aptly chanted, “She’s hardcore!” while giving Yim a standing ovation, meanwhile, Excellent took to the mic after the match calling the femme fatale a “tough bitch”.

Given the history made in the ECW Arena and the numerous females to compete in it, it’s a pretty cool feat for the young rising star to be the last female to wrestle there. (Well, for now at least.)

Elsewhere, WSU and SHIMMER star Sassy Stephie defeated Cheerleader Melissa to become the #1 Contender for the Women’s Championship in Billy Corgan-fronted promotion, RESISTANCE Pro.

RESISTANCE Pro, which boasts the Smashing Pumpkins singer as its creative director, held its second event this past weekend in Chicago following a debut show last November.

Stephie picked up the win in rather controversial fashion as champion Melanie Cruise cost Melissa the match just as the SHIMMER Champion had Stephie beat. It looks like Cruise, who won the title in November during a battle royal, is looking to avoid Melissa at all costs — and who can blame her?

Earlier in the night, Cruise defeated Serenity in her first title defense.

Citing ‘personal reasons’ as her choice for leaving, Sakura went out with a bang by wrestling Tsukushi – her most recent tag partner – in a fifteen minute match in Sendai, Japan. Tsukushi picked up the victory.

Classed as the ‘matron of Ice Ribbon’, Sakura – whom founded the company in 2006 – is a previous two-time ICEx60 Champion and co-held the International Ribbon Tag Team Championships a whopping five times (each time with a different partner – Kaori Yoneyama, Nanae Takahashi, Ray, Makoto, and Tsukushi).

She made her professional wrestling debut in August 1996 and has wrestled for a plethora of different promotions, including IWA Japan, FMW, JWP, NEO, AJW and more.

The match, which the crowd was reported to have been very into, was said to have played host to a lot of stalling, with Jackie as the heel and Winter as the babyface. Once the match got off it’s feet, Haas is said to have dominated the majority of it. When Winter battled back, Charlie Haas interfered on Jackie’s behalf, leading to Eric Young appearing in Winter’s corner as an equalizer.

Winter ended up winning the match by surprising Jackie with a backslide pin.

Not only did Jackie previously appear on a FWE show, winding up in a face-off with Melina (in Melina’s first post-WWE appearance), Jackie also used to work for TNA in from the end of 2005 to mid-2006 (even winning their “Knockout of the Year” for 2005!). She was a part of a storyline with Jeff Jarrett that consisted of her having a secret about him that management would “love to hear”. Jarrett countered this by having Alex Shelley and “Paparazzi Productions” follow her for blackmail of his own, then forcing her into becoming the valet for Planet Jarrett. She and Jarrett’s manager Gail Kim were often at odds. Haas ended up falling pregnant in real-life and quietly exited from TNA and the storyline was never wrapped up. What was on either tape still remains a mystery to this day.

Talk about an eleventh hour addition!

In an unadvertised Divas Championship bout, Beth Phoenix and Kelly Kelly once again did battle, rehashing their long rivalry over the summer and early fall, as 2011 comes to a close.

The match stemmed from this past Monday’s Slammy Awards where Kelly and Beth had an altercation after Kelly won the Divalicious Moment of the Year award.

In a good match between the two — their fourth on pay per view this year — there were several near falls, especially the heart-stopping final few seconds where it seemed like Kelly nearly had the title back in her possession. Ultimately, the Glamazon is still your Divas Champion!

It’s that time of year again! WWE pays visit to all of our fighting men and women of the armed forces, and puts on a bonus two hour program for everyone to enjoy. This year TTTT is being held in an actual arena as opposed to the fresh open air of years past. We witnessed Divas Champion, Beth Phoenix, Natalya, and the Bella Twins (Brie & Nikki) team up for an 8-Diva tag team match against the group of Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, Alicia Fox, and making her return to the WWE ring, Extra co-host and best-selling author, Maria Menounos! Lately, Beth and Maria have engaged in quite the Twitter war, but who can put their money with their mouth is? Let’s check out that match, as well as some extra Diva related segments.

After a video package showing the Bella Twins visiting the U.S. military academy, we head to the arena as the devious duo make their tag team entrance together in a pair of “Bella Boot Camp” shirts. Up next, we have the Divas of Doom, who pretty much kill me with the addition of tissue boxes to their entrance. Seriously, I don’t know who thought of that, but kudos because it’s an awesome touch! As the two of them enter the ring, Kelly, Eve, and Alicia Fox all come out together. (I guess not everyone can get their own entrances.) Rounding out their group comes Extra’s Maria Menounos, who you may remember back in 2009 facing off with Beth in a six Diva tag team match.

The four of them all make it to the ring, as Natalya and Beth offer some tissues to their opponents. Nikki and Eve remain in the ring, but Eve instead decides to tag in Maria Menounos to kick things off. Nikki applies a waist lock to her rookie opponent, before transitioning it into a headlock takeover. Maria fights out of it and executes a headlock takeover of her own! She then tags back out to Eve, as Nikki scurries to the other side of the ring to tag in Brie. Brie charges, but Eve ducks a clothesline and plants her in the stomach with a kick. A snapmare follows up, followed by a devastating kick to the jaw.

With Brie in position, Eve proceeds to set up for it… and yes! Pop, pop, pop, she goes with some booty action, before flipping over with her patented standing Torresault for a near fall until Natalya distracts Eve. Brie attacks from behind and makes the tag into the Divas Champion, who takes it to Eve with some kicks and slaps. Eve tries to kick her in the stomach, but Beth catches her foot. Eve hobbles for a bit, before leaping up with a sick enziguiri and tagging in Kelly Kelly. Kelly heads to the top rope and soars with a nice Lou Thesz Press. She ducks a clothesline and executes her whirlybird headscissors, to the BEST facial expression ever by Maria Menounos. Beth is face-planted into the top turnbuckle, as Kelly capitalizes with a bulldog until Nikki breaks it up.

Alicia Fox then charges in with a clothesline, until Brie dropkicks Alicia so hard, she may have lost some hair on the way down. Eve Torres runs back in and proceeds to throw Brie from the ring, but Natalya blindsides Eve and tosses her as well. Eve manages to hold on long enough to sweep Natalya outside the ring, as Maria Menounos blind tags herself in and goes for Beth. Beth grabs Maria and asks if she knows who she is, before shoving the Extra co-host into the turnbuckle. Phoenix charges forward, but Maria leaps up with a sunset flip and the SHOCK victory over the Divas Champion! Her group celebrates the stunning win, as Beth and Natalya seem downright insulted!

Also, as surprising as it may seem for those of you who haven’t been checking out Superstars lately, Rosa Mendes has found herself busy as of late, managing the new team of Primo and Epico. Check out the two of them as they square off with Air Boom in a non-title match below!

Thoughts: Is it weird to say that this has been my favorite Divas match in a while? Granted, it’s been the only Divas match in recent memory to exceed around fifty seconds in length, I thought it was fun. I was pretty impressed to see Maria Menounos actually working a match as opposed to doing a few spots, and it seems like she’s actually grasping wrestling. I didn’t mind her pinning Beth considering it was through a roll up, and the two had been going at it on Twitter for some time, although I can see why people would see that to be a bit skeptical. I just think that with Tribute to the Troops, they are there to put on a show for the men and women of the army, and storylines aren’t really an issue. I don’t think Beth loses credibility from it or anything.

Also, Rosa, Epico, and Primo are becoming one of my “must watch” segments of the week. Whether they’re on Superstars, SmackDown, or Tribute to the Troops (they are on all three this week so WATCH) they fit together so well, and actually look like a group. I feel like this has really given Rosa some needed air time, and she could be brilliant if they give her the microphone one week or something. I hope these two eventually win the Tag Team Titles because they have got some great matches ahead of them.

The “hot potato” streak is officially over! Following title changes on the last four consecutive pay per views, the reigning Knockouts Champ Gail Kim proved to be a worthy champion by retaining the belt in a match against Mickie James.

Gail can perhaps thank Madison Rayne — with whom she also holds the Knockouts Tag Team Championships — for helping her end the streak as Rayne interfered on Kim’s behalf, distracting Mickie and allowing Gail to hit the Eat Defeat on her.

The belt previously changed hands at Turning Point last month when Gail won, Bound for Glory in October when Velvet Sky won, as well as No Surrender in September and Hardcore Justice in August when Winter won. The last champion to retain on a pay per view was Gail’s opponent tonight, Mickie James, who defeated Angelina Love in July at Victory Road.

Overall, the weekend has to be considered a smashing success. Absolutely great shows and well worth going out of your way to get the DVD”s of. Speaking of DVDs, Smark Mark video announced tonight that the DVDs will go on sale in 48 hours, which means by Wednesday morning. Typically, most CHIKARA shows take 2 weeks or so, so this is really fast. I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed each show. It was something truly special and for anyone who is down on women’s wrestling because of the way its portrayed in TNA and WWE, I urge you to check these shows out. Such a great collection of talent.

Throwback vs Los Ice Creams was the opener and had the surprise of a replacement member of the Throwbacks since Sugar Dunkerton was MIA. In his place, we had the debuting Saturyne who is no one I have heard of. She wore a blue, pink, and purple outfit and a mask similar to Jamilla Craft. Some comedy here with the usual Ice Cream shenanigans. Poor Saturyne got beat up most of the match. However, she should a lot of fire and energy and I am really dying to know more about her. Good opener.

Gami vs Portia Perez was next and another solid match. Since Portia is everyone’s favorite heel, Gami was the defacto babyface in this match. Although, she too heeled it up during the match including slapping the ref on multiple occasion while being put in a submission hold. Portia must have been hungry, because she was biting the hand of Gami a lot in this match.

Next women’s match was Cherry & the Colony vs Uematsu and the Batari. Uematsu was in full green Batari facepaint here which was awesome. She really fit in well with her male teammates which in itself is a little scary. Really fun match here which saw Cherry and two of the colony do the running dropkick into the corner spot the colony usually do in their matches. Sadly, Cherry did not have any matching attire with the Colony in this one.

After intermission, we had Yoneyama vs Ozaki in a really good match. As you would imagine, Ozaki cheated… a lot. Yoneyama was her typically energetic self and is easily one of the most popular Joshi stars this weekend.

Next up was match of the night by far. 6 woman tag with Toyota/Shimono/Nakamori vs Kong/Shirai/Kuragaki. This match lasted nearly 30 mins and every single second of it was gold. Possibly the best match in a CHIKARA ring this year. Match even had the crowd chanting “THIS IS AWESOME” and “PLEASE COME BACK”. Kong brought her metal container, but never used it unlike in Night 1. Kong and Toyota teased starting the match off until Kong sprayed water in her face and tagged out. Too much action to describe, but at one point it spilled over to the stage where I was sitting and I had to dive out of the way to avoid getting trampled by 6 ladies. Can’t say enough good things about this match. This is the match you would want to watch above all the others if you can only afford one DVD to buy.

That left Sara Del Rey for Hamada in a 15 minute classic. Overall, I’d say the match before it was better but that was also twice as long and had 6 women instead of 2. This match was all about stiff kicks to the head because I lost count on how many times they kicked each other. Crowd was pretty evenly split between cheering for Sara and Ayako. It was on par with their previous match in SHIMMER, so if you are a fan of that match, you’ll enjoy this one. Sara won, which gave her 3 victories for the weekend, the only one I believe to have such a claim.

Attendance was around 400. The Highline Ballroom is a tiny place, but a great atmosphere for wrestling. And Joshimania was an amazing experience which I hope CHIKARA can do again next year.

Last night, CHIKARA kicked off its three-night JoshiMania extravaganza in Philadelphia, PA, in a show headlined by Sara Del Rey facing her idol, returning to the US for the first time in years, Aja Kong.

Plus, Manami Toyota was presented the Diva Dirt Legacy Award.

Great show. Sara Del Rey nearly DOMINATED Kong the majority of the match. The only time Kong took control was after a ref bump when she used a metal bucket to whack over Del Rey’s head. The Toyota/Uematsu match was match of the night, in my opinion. It got the most time and had tons of near falls. During most of the matches, the JWP team, Gami, and Uematsu came out to act as “seconds” or managers for the other girls. All the girls were out before, and after the show selling all kinds of merch and taking photos with fans. Aja Kong by FAR had the longest lines. I’d estimate the crowd to be around 500 or so. Not as many as I’d have expected though, but not a small crowd either.

Yim challenged Mickie Knuckles for the AIW Women’s Championship as Gail served as special guest referee.

Mia, as the heel, lost the bout after being hit with a spinning powerbomb at the 16 minute mark.

Afterwards, Yim got in Gail’s face only to be hit with several forearms and a flying clothesline by the double TNA champion. Gail then ended the segment with an Eat Defeat on Yim’s manager.

Yim posted a picture of herself and Gail on her Twitter page.

Plus, Becky Bayless (TNA’s Cookie) will be in action as well as many other stars.

WSU Tag Team Championship: Boston Shore vs Rain & Jetta
Before the match, Jetta & Rain engage in a dance-off, joking around with the Boston girls. Jetta & Rain do “rock, paper, scissors” to determine who will get in the ring first. We start with Lexxus and Rain.

Rain & Jetta with good tag team working, tagging in and out a lot, controlling Lexxus and not allowing her to tag out to her tag team partner, Amber.

Lexxus finally tags in Amber who works over Rain by raking her eyes over the top rope. Amber with the control on Rain now. Rain finally manages to break free and hits a unique submission on Amber. Lexxus hits the ring and breaks it up by kicking Rain.

Stream dropped. Looks like we’re having technical difficulties.

Loser Leaves WSU: Niya vs Jennifer Cruz
Niya with a lot of fast paced action taking it to Cruz. Crowd is firmly behind Niya too. Niya with a nice dive to the outside on Cruz. Very impressive in this match.

The two women get back into the ring. Cruz grounds Niya with a hard clothesline and begins working her over. Cruz goes up top but Niya gets to her feet and hits a snapmare on Cruz to the mat. Pin attempt but Cruz kicks out. Niya with inside cradle, but Cruz kicks out again. Cruz takes Niya down again & goes up top again. This time she goes for a headbutt but Niya rolls out of the way.

Niya with a nice belly-to-belly suplex. Niya with a beautiful handspring splash, goes for a cover but only a two-count.

Cruz gets up and hits a chokeslam variation and goes for pin but Niya kicks out.

Niya with a kick to the head and goes up top & hits Cruz with a crossbody and goes for pin but Cruz reverses and pins Niya.

Brook goes for covers on both Gabby and Syxx but both kick out. Gabby & Brook team up on Nikki, then fight each other. Brook with a nice armbar submission on Gilbert. Submission broken up. Gilbert in the corner and Brook with a running knee. Pin attempt but Gilbert kicks out. Gabby with a crossface on Brook. Jessie Brook eliminated.

Syxx vs Gilbert now as the last two standing. Syxx with a side chokeslam and pin attempt but Gilbert kicks out. Backbreaker by Syxx. Nikki with a senton attempt from the top but misses. Gabby takes advantage and goes up top and tries a senton of her own but also misses.

Both ladies try to rise to their feet and exchange blows. Gilbert with an overhead suplex on Syxx. Syxx goes for a kick but misses. Gilbert with Samoan drop attempt but Nikki reverses into a roll-up and wins.

Next up Belle Saints vs Soul Sisters.

Belle Saints (Marti Belle & Tina San Antonio) vs Soul Sisters (Jana & Luscious Latasha)
The two teams shake hands before the match. Marti and Jana kicking things off. The two have a back and forth exchange. Marti with a headscissors and tag out to Tina. Jana takes control of Tina with a leg-scissors wrapped around her opponent’s neck. Jana tags out to Latasha.

Tina with a powerslam on Latasha for a pin attempt but no three count. Side headlock. Latasha now begins offense with a dropkick, snapmare and nice front dropkick. Tina blind tags Marti and they hit a tag team clothesline on Latasha. Marti with a front headlock on Latasha & tags in Tina. Double team side-Russian leg sweep. Tina with a snapmare and neck snap. Pin attempt but no three. Tina with a cartwheel bump into the corner on Latasha & Marti with a running knee. Suplex by Tina. Commentator says tension between Belle Saints.

Latasha begins fighting back but Tina wrenches her arm and tags in Marti, but does it in a harsh way, teasing dissension. Marti back in the ring against Latasha. Frustration between the Belle Saints. Marti tags out to Tina. Latasha tries to tag Jana but Tina blocks her. Latasha finally begins fighting back and Tina tags out. Marti now taking it to Latasha but Latasha counters into a neckbreaker.

Tina and Jana get hot tags. Jana with lots of offense on Tina and hits a cartwheel splash. Pin attempt but Tina kicks out. Tina begins fighting back with elbows to the stomach, she runs the ropes but Marti blind tags herself in. Marti & Tina argue. Meanwhile, Latasha & Jana hit a double team dropkick on Marti which knocks Tina off the apron. Jana with a front headlock submission and Marti taps.

Winners and new No. 1 Contenders for Tag Team Titles: Soul Sisters

Tina takes to the mic and begins trashing Marti. Marti grabs the mic and says she knows Tina’s secret and it’s time it comes out. Amy Lee hits the ring and shows some footage on the titantron which reveals that Tina faked her attack earlier in the year. Marti begins crying and says Tina turned her back on her and the WSU fans. Tina asks for forgiveness. They hug but Tina takes out Marti and leaves her lying in the ring.

Really great angle. Strong acting from both ladies.

Rick Cataldo vs Becky Bayless
Before the match, Cataldo takes the microphone. I love this guy! So funny… He says he doesn’t give a f**k about Becky and will break her nails, face etc. He calls her a “drunk whore” and brings up her past DUI.

Out comes Becky and gets on the mic. Becky says he’s a joke and while she was working and traveling around the world in TNA, he was watching gay porn in his mom’s basement. She says he’s disrespecting WSU, the women backstage and the fans and she’ll beat some respect into him.

Cataldo slaps Becky but she fires back with several slaps of her own and a hard chop. Cataldo leapfrogs Becky and tries to pin her but she sits on his face which makes him squeam! He jumps out of the ring and Becky gives chase. They get back in the ring & Cataldo takes control now. He chokes her over the middle rope. He rakes her eyes and then tries to bite her nails off but Becky hits a jawbreaker and goes for a pin but doesn’t get a three. Cataldo rakes her eyes and goes to work on her but Becky with a hard slap and a bulldog. Pin attempt.

Becky with an Oklahoma roll but Cataldo kicks out. Cataldo hits her face first against the mat. Side backbreaker over Cataldo’s knee on Becky. Cataldo in control, but Becky soon fights back by slamming him head first several times on the top turnbuckle while she’s sitting there… Pin attempt but Rick grabs the ropes.

Such a fun match! The pre-match promos were epic. Best segment so far.

Out next is WSU commissioner Amy Lee. She teases the reveal for Melina’s opponent. She brings out Serena to address the fans. Serena apologizes for not being able to perform tonight. She says she was looking forward to the match with Melina and calls her an amazing performer. She says she had a bad concussion. Serena says she gives it everything she has when she gets in the ring and never half-asses. Serena says she will be back and we will see the best of Serena.

Serena says she came here tonight to warmly welcome Melina to WSU and is excited to see who her opponent is. Serena says she wants to join Cindy Rogers on commentary for the match. She says she’s excited to see this match.

Amy Lee announces Lexxus as Melina’s opponent. Amy says she picked Lexxus because she survived 73 minutes against the greatest champion in Mercedes Martinez. Tonight is her chance to wrestle a former WWE Women’s Champion and not to make her regret the decision.

Lexxus trash talks Melina. Melina gets back in her face. They tussle on the mat for a moment and then begin locking up. Melina with an arm lock submission but Lexxus breaks out of the hold. Melina and Lexxus exchange blows.

Lexxus begins offense on Melina with kicks and an Irish whip into a hard clothesline. Pin attempt but no three for Lexxus. Lexxus begins stomping on Melina and slaps her in the face. Lexxus rams Melina’s head into the turnbuckle and begins choking her out with her foot. Lexxus trash talks as Melina recovers and hits her with a back elbow and then hits a move off the second rope. Pin attempt by Melina but no three.

Lexxus gets to her feet and begins taking it to Melina. She goes for a baseball slide but Melina moves out of the way and Lexxus ends up on the outside. Melina with a clothesline from the ring apron on Lexxus. Melina rams her into the side of the ring. Lexxus begins fighting back and slams Melina against the hard floor face-first.

Back in the ring, pin attempt by Lexxus followed by a camel clutch. Lexxus chokes Melina over the middle rope using her leg, then Melina reverses and does the same to Lexxus. Lexxus with a back elbow and snapmare on Melina followed by a hard kick to the back. Pin attempt by Lexxus but no three.

Lexxus with a hair toss on Melina. Melina begins fighting back and gets to her feet as the crowd will her back into the match. Melina with a backslide but Lexxus kicks out. Lexxus takes control again and goes for a pin attempt of her own. Lexxus with a strike across the chest. Melina fights back with forearm shots. Melina goes for her splits kick but Lexxus moves out of the way. Lexxus hits her with a dropkick and pin attempt but no three count.

Lexxus begins choking out Melina. Melina gets to her feet and hits a hair toss and dropkick on Lexxus. Melina fights back with forearms and another hair toss. Melina whips Lexxus and hits a spinning heel kick. Eye rake by Lexxus. Melina with a drop toe hold onto the middle rope. Lexxus with a double knee smash. Front faceplant by Melina and a pin attempt. Lexxus reverses an Irish whip and hits a jawbreaker on Melina.

Both women try to will themselves back into the match. Melina goes for the Sunset Split but Lexxus’ tag partner Amber comes out to ringside with a chair. Serena leaves commentary and flees Amber from ringside. Lexxus hits her finisher and goes for two pins but Melina manages to kick out.

Melina finally hits the Sunset Split for the 1, 2, 3!

Winner: Melina

After the match, Amber jumps in the ring and attacks Melina. Melina is laid out. Serena can’t make the save due to her concussion, but Rain comes out and chases off the Boston Shore.

Steel Cage War Games Match: Midwest Militia vs Team WSU
In all honestly, I have no idea what the rules are for a match like this and they were read out too quickly for me to understand. Anyhoo, Stephie and Martinez kick things off while the other four ladies stand outside the ring. Martinez with the early control, taking it to Stephie. Martinez lights Stephie up with hard chops. Stephie with a nice sitout takedown. Stephie with a headlock but Martinez hits a jawbreaker on her and gets out of it. Martinez in control now, smashing Stephie’s head against the cage. Stephie eventually begins fighting back & has a chinlock applied as another entrant enters the match — Allysin Kay. Stephie and Kay double team Mercedes but she begins fighting back and lights up Kay with chops. Mercedes clubs Kay across the chest several times and then grates her forehead on the cage. Kay reverses and grates Martinez’s forehead on the cage. Stephie & Kay work over Martinez as a double team. They try to keep Martinez grounded with chokes and smashing her head against the mat. Kay with a camel clutch as Stephie talks trash.

Brittney Savage now enters the cage with a clothesline on Stephie. Kay goes for a backbreaker but she reverses into a backstabber. Stephie vs Brittney now. Clothesline from Savage. Kay attacks her from behind. Martinez back on her feet and chops Kay again. Kay chops Martinez back. Exchange of blows. Meanwhile, Stephie is battling Brittney.

Jessicka enters the cage now and goes straight after Martinez with a kick and several forearm shots. Jessicka tosses her across the ring. then she picks up Brittney for a twirly-birdy and slingshots her into the cage. Kay & Havok pick up Brittney and ram her into the cage. Another double team move as Havok hoists up Brittney and Kay hits her with a codebreaker. Havok with a superplex on Martinez.

Alicia hits the ring and takes down Kay & Stephie. She throws Kay into the side of the cage. Two Michinoku drivers on Kay and Stephie. Alicia whips Stephie into Kay and then hits a superkick on them. They slump to the canvas and she hits a running butt bump. However, Havok then hits her with a big boot. Brittney hits Havok across the back but Havok picks her up by the throat, pinning her against the side of the cage. Martinez makes the save and hits several suplexes on Havok.

Kay is trying to climb over the top of the cage but Alicia and Martinez try to bring her back in. Kay ends up in tree of woe position hanging from the top of the cage!!! Martinez hits her with chops. Brittney climbs up on middle rope and hits her with kicks to the stomach. Martinez with a running kick to the head and Kay falls to the floor.

Brittney applies a camel clutch on Kay, and Alicia does same to Stephie. Meanwhile, Martinez and Havok brawling. Martinez grates Havok’s head on the side of the cage and kicks her in the head.

Havok and Martinez find themselves on the outside of the cage!

Kay once again cimbs up top and Alicia tries to pull her down. Havok has a pair of handcuffs and cuffs the doors shut while Martinez is still stuck outside!

The Militia take out Alicia & Brittney but then Mercedes hits a triple crossbody on all three members. She tosses them into the side of the cage. Team WSU makes a comeback by taking it to all three members of the Militia.

Martinez and and Alicia hit a double team move on Stephie. Alicia holds her up in powerbomb position & Martinez jumps off the top rope to assist.

Alicia & Havok battling. Havok is busted open.

Kay unlocks the handcuffs that had locked the cage door. Kay flees and Brittney runs after her. Back in the ring, Martinez climbs the turnbuckles and hits a missile dropkick on Havok.

Havok & Stephie handcuff Brittney to the bottom rope. Alicia is also handcuffed on the other side of the cage.

Havok tries to get on the mic. Havok says “now the takeover starts” and Amy Lee is no longer the top dog in WSU.

Kay & Stephie prop up Mercedes as Havok screams at her. She says come March at the 5th Anniversary Show, Martinez will no longer be WSU Champion. Havok begins trashing all the women and laying in kicks to the handcuffed women. Havok gets in Martinez’s face but she spits in Havok’s face. Havok goes crazy and grabs the machete and threatens Martinez.

Havok hits a Samoan drop on Martinez. Kay & Stephie hold down Martinez as Havok stands over her threatening to stab her with the machete.

Not sure how the finish came, but I believe Brittney said “I quit”, giving the Midwest Militia the win.

Winners: Midwest Militia

Havok holds up the machete and WSU World Championship over Martinez’s fallen body.

The Militia admire their handiwork before leaving ringside as officials come to check on Team WSU and Amy Lee.

I really don’t know what to make of that ending. It was extremely dramatic and over the top to the point of WCW flashbacks, but at the same time, Jessicka Havok is so deliciously evil, that it somehow works. I really don’t know how I feel about the ending…

Final Thoughts
I felt this show was more hit and miss than some of the past couple of iPPVs. I have to say, the June iPPV, from top to bottom, was very cohesive and this one seems to have lost that cohesiveness throughout the show. I definitely enjoyed the Becky/Rick match, which was the highlight for me. Just an entertaining match. Not exactly technically brilliant, but very fun and lively. The pre-match promos were great. The ending of the main event was just crazy — I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. The match, however, featured a ton of hard hitting action. Good stuff, but kind of hard to keep track of everything that was going on. Melina vs Lexxus was okay. Serena’s promo was very heartwarming.

Brandon here, and HISTORY WAS MADE at ACW’s 6th Annual Lone Star Classic with Portia Perez winning the ACW Championship from Darin Childs and Rachel Summerlyn in a 1st round match in the Lone Star Classic. This makes Portia the 1ST FEMALE to ever hold the company’s top prize. Portia Perez elimitation then champ Darin Childs with a flurry of Superkicks, then eliminated Rachel Summerlyn with a roll up with feet on the ropes to make history for the company.

But her history making reign came to an abrupt holt in the Semi-Finals (about an hour later), when she fell to JT Lamotta due to a distraction by Robert Evans. Afterwards he came in the ring and hit a Tombstone Styles Clash on Perez, and announced that on 1/15/12, Robert Evans will face Portia Perez at Guilty By Association 6 (ACW’s Flagship Show).

Also in American Joshi Championship action, the champ Athena successfully defend her title against Angel Blue in a good back and forth, heel on heel match. Things got real before that match when Athena got on the mic and she said that as the ACW American Joshi Champion, she felt insulted she had to put her belt on the line against Angel Blue. She also added that if Jessica James was a stepping stone, then Angel Blue was the “sore beneath her feet.” OUCH!! She offered and opprotunity to avoid the ass whoopin she was about to give her, and the offer was to just leave. She concluded that the fans don’t want Angel there (myself included. Angel Blue, next to Portia, is the most hated in ACW). Angel respond to Athena to “Go F*** Yourself, B****!”

Thoughts: It’s no secret the ACW presents equality to both the guys and girls, and has develop the strongest women’s division in not only in Texas, but in the world. But when Portia won the ACW Title, my jaw dropped, thus solidifying that anything can happen in ACW. Portia has been the most cunning, vindictive heels in wrestling for years, but here in ACW, she is 10x as vindictive as possible. Putting the belt on Portia show how the company has a lot of thrust in the girls to carry on with the show on their own. It’s been proven in the past with Queen of Queens, main eventing the December 2010 show, performing show-stealing match (i.e. 10,000 Thumbtacks Match with Athena and Rachel Summerlyn), and most importantly getting down with the tough males as well. Speaking of Athena, I can go all day with her. After that show, all I can say is this: GIVE HER A PIPEBOMB! We all know how great she is in the ring. But when she’s on the mic, she is just on point. The way she grilled Angel Blue, so eloquently and so “in-your-face” like, proves that she is indeed the total package. Though I’m not the biggest Angel Blue fan, she gave a fight to the Goddess. And she gets heat like no other.

People get a bad impression on women’s wrestling because of what they see on TV with WWE and TNA, due to the demographic the mainstream follows. But if you love seeing women being on a top star level, check out ACW’s American Joshis, because the girls are the stars in their own right.

Nevertheless, this weekend I attended another live show for FCW, which featured some top notch matches, entertaining segments, and wedding crashers… but that’s all for another day. The Divas match of the event was a six woman match featuring the heckled team of Raquel Diaz, Caylee Turner, and Leah West facing off with the fan favorites, Cameron Lynn, Divas Champion Audrey Marie, and competing in only her second FCW match, Tough Enough’s Ivelisse Velez.

Check out some highlights and pictures below from the show:

* Ivelisse was announced by her real name, although so was Ariane the first time I saw her, so I’m guessing she will probably change ring names soon.

* Caylee and Ivelisse started things off and allowed me to relive the greatness of Tough Enough all over again. They did pretty solidly together and definitely looked good in the ring.

* Audrey worked a majority of the match for her team getting beat down by Raquel, Leah, and Caylee. She is improving nicely.

* Cameron and Ivelisse really got the crowd going trying to get them behind Audrey. Cameron was bouncing up and down and Ivelisse was firing everybody up.

* Raquel executed Eddie Guerrero’s “three amigos” during the match which was a great touch. I also recall Caylee hitting a running double knee to the face on Audrey I believe.

* The finish came when Leah West was in control of Audrey until the champion finally managed to make the hot tag to Cameron, who cleaned house. I believe (a bit sketchy as this took place on the opposite side of me) Audrey walked over and pulled one of the heels off the apron, as Ivelisse took out the other. Cameron went for a monkey flip in the corner but Leah held onto her and they turned around away from the turnbuckle. Leah went to flip her over (like Natalya used to do), but Cameron managed to stay on top of her and push her backwards to get the victory for her team. (Note: apologies if my description is terrible as I was trying to take a picture when it was close to ending.)

October 15th – NAW (Albion, VIC): Nikita Naridian (also known as Kellyanne English) def. Lowzen to retain her Women’s Championship.. this match was the main event and the stipulation was that of the Falls Count Anywhere nature… both girls were attacked by Vixsin after the match.

October 22nd – NAW (Melton, VIC): Iron Horse Morrison and Vixsin def. Lowzen and George Julio via DQ… babyface Lowzen used a chair on Vixsin while the referee was watching the men… the referee then disqualified their team… Julio decked the referee for the “presumptive call” – what presumptive call? Lowzen did use the chair…

October 22nd – MCW presents “WrestleClash 3″ (Thornbury, VIC): Shazza McKenzie def. K.C. Cassidy… Cassidy was Madison Eagles’ hand-picked replacement for herself… Sway attacked McKenzie after the match was over… this event can actually be purchased for viewing over at GoFightLive.tv!

November 11th – PWAQ (Chermside, QLD): Baby Devine is scheduled to defend her Women’s title against Niki Nitro…  if Niki loses the match, then she is “banned from wrestling in Queensland for any company”… as Niki has already been announced for the “Queen of the Warriors” tournament in January (see below), it’s sadly not hard to guess who the victor of this match might be… Brandy Alexander has been announced as making her debut and Sara Jay will also return to PWAQ.

November 12th – NAW (Albion, VIC): Nikita Naridian vs. Lowzen vs. Vixsin is on the cards in a non-title match.

January 21st, 2012 – PWAQ presents “Queen of the Warriors” (Chermside, QLD): Imogen Jane, Brandy Alexander, Harley Wonderland, Mighty Mel, Sara Jay, Storm, Niki Nitro and Baby Devine have all been announced for the revived “Queen of the Warriors” tournament… the once-off tournament was last held in February 2009 and the winner was Tenille Tayla, whom ended Kellie Skater’s undefeated streak in Queensland… the competitors in 2009 were Tayla, Skater, Jessie McKay, Sway, Aurora, Shazza McKenzie and Giselle Gunn.

Recent SPARKLE debutant KC Spinelli last night defeated Nicole Matthews at ECCW’s “Halloween Hell” event to win their Women’s Championship. Matthews was just one day shy of a year long reign.

As previously stated, she made her debut for SPARKLE at the recent SHIMMER tapings on October 1 and 2, and was featured on the first season of Canada’s TV show “World of Hurt” as one of Lance Storm’s trainees (she will again be appearing on their second season, this time trained by WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper). The past season of “World of Hurt” have showcased the likes of recent WWE signees Tenille Tayla and Taya Valkyrie.

Spinelli debuted for ECCW a few years ago and has been consistently improving her craft – the victory is most certainly a well deserved one.

Velvet’s match was previously announced as being of the “Lucha a Oscuras” variety, which, roughly translated, means “struggle in the dark”. The competitors wear fluorescent clothing and wrestle under a black light, making them glow in the dark.

Velvet, who made her debut for the company in June at TripleManía XIX, teamed up with La Sociedad and La Legión Extranjera members Jennifer Blake and Sexy Star to take on Cynthia Moreno and Faby and Mari Apache in a six woman tag. The match ended when Sexy Star pinned Mari Apache after hitting her with a chair. Referee Hijo Del Tirantes (a fellow La Sociedad member) also made a fast-count. The heels then celebrated by dancing in the ring.

Moreno, the Apaches, Blake and Star appeared again later in the evening as lumberjacks for the tag match between Alan Stone, Mini Histeria and Polvo Estrellas against El Elegido, Octagóncito and Pimpinela Escarlata. Also on the show was Karen Jarrett, managing husband Jeff Jarrett. The dance troupe Reinas del Ring performed mid-show.

* Jetta comes out to ringside with the European Empire. She says that she said they would get rid of the old and that’s what she’s done. The old are no longer in EVE and now it’s about a new generation. Jetta informs the crowd that as the title is now in the Empire, that they are all champion. Jetta takes the title off Jenny Sjodin and announces herself as the EVE Champion before passing the belt to Nikki Storm and announcing her as champion also. Jetta says that as the title is already in the Empire, there is no need for Jenny to defend against April Davids tonight.

As April & Jenny demand that their match take place, Rhia O’Reilly enters and said she is fed up of losing but by tomorrow she will have more wins than losses. Rhia demands a title match and says she will beat Jenny for the title, then beat Super Jane and then beat April Davids. Jetta says Jenny will not defend the title against Rhia. Jenny grabs the microphone and says she can speak for herself and accepts the challenge. Jetta storms out of the ring.

Serena hits the ring and congratulates Eagles. Serena tells her that she should focus on their title match tonight. Serena says she been through a lot, but she never lost her passion to be SHIMMER Champion. She promises to win the SHIMMER title tonight.

* Daizee Haze and Tomoka Nakagawa come out to the ring and say that have nothing to prove and are taking the night off. Bryce Remsberg comes out and says that they have to defend their titles tonight. Ayumi Kurihara and Ayako Hamada come to the ring next and a SHIMMER Tag Team Title match is set, despite Daizee and Tomoka not being dressed for competition.

In the first round of the REINA Tag Team Championship tournament, the Ninjas defeated Team USA’s Sara Del Rey & Mia Yim following a 10 minute match.

The Ninjas got the win after hitting their Funky Cold Medina superkick/German suplex combo on Yim.

Tomorrow, the Ninjas take on Zeuxis and La Comandante.

Meanwhile, Mia Yim will face Aoi Ishibashi, while Del Rey teams with Ray to take on Yumiko Hotta & Saya.

Congrats to the Ninjas on a successful debut!

This past weekend, things were pretty standard. WWE put on two supershows featuring Kelly Kelly defending her Divas Title against Beth Phoenix, while Impact Wrestling showcased Knockouts Champion, Winter, defending against a potential top contender, Mickie James.

Thoughts: Not much to say really, the same matches we’ve been seeing reported on for a while now. I will say they are putting to good use though, as I’m sure Kelly and Beth working together so much has helped to provide such great chemistry on their pay-per-view outings as of late. With the announcement that Velvet Sky will be involving in the fatal four way at Bound for Glory, I would like to see her take place in some live event matches as well, for it could propel that bout to a high level if chemistry can be formed this early ahead of time.

September 9^th – Wrestlerock (Richmond, VIC): The “Barely Legal Bitch” Kellyanne defeated Shemale by DQ (“inappropriate touching”)… she also participated in a battle royal but did not win… for those that don’t know, Wrestlerock hosts over 18′s shows.

September 10^th – NAW (Albion, VIC): Nikita Naridian wanted to celebrate her title victory from last month’s show, but the celebration was cut short by Lowzen… the two ended up brawling for “a good five or six minutes”.

January 21^st, 2012 – PWAQ will be reviving their “Queen of the Warriors” tournament concept… the one-off event was held in February 2009 and the winner was future WWE developmental diva, Tenille. She bested Kellie Skater in the finals and ended her undefeated streak in Queensland… confirmed names for the tournament are Harley Wonderland, Sara Jay, Storm and Baby Devine (however, the company states that 7 spots have been filled so far).

The two wrestled on WWE Superstars last week.

The Royal Adelaide Show began September 2 and will run through to September 10, lasting a whopping nine days. So far, Matthews, and SHIMMER/PWWA Champion Madison Eagles have wrestled one another on nights 4, 5, 6 and 7, trading wins and losses back and forth.

This week, all three shows had a big workload with a string of live events. This is pretty much a batch of the same matches we’ve been seeing for a while, but over on the Raw side, it was WWE Divas Champion, Kelly Kelly squaring off against top contender, Beth Phoenix. SmackDown, while on a tour of France, provided its Divas fix with Natalya facing Alicia Fox. Finally Impact Wrestling pit Knockouts Champion, Mickie James, against Winter. Thoughts: Nothing much to say this week really. All matches we’ve been seeing lately, but it builds chemistry so it’s being done for a good purpose. Hopefully with all of these matches Kelly & Beth are having, it will help them out at Night of Champions to put on an even better bout than their Summerslam showing. All in all, an expected weekend of the house show results.

Both shows are being held at the same venue, the Liverpool Masonic Centre in Liverpool, NSW, Australia.

Last night’s show saw the Australian debut of SHIMMER’s Nicole Matthews ahead of her PWWA debut tonight in the SHIMMER Championship match, plus there was also an eight-woman tag team match.

* Jessie McKay, Kellyanne English, Evie and Megan-Kate def. Madison Eagles, Kellie Skater, JPE and Britenay in an eight woman tag match. Match was really fast paced and exciting. English and all of the New Zealanders were impressive in their debuts.

* Nicole Matthews def. Shazza McKenzie. This was the semi-main event.

The event will feature the SHIMMER Championship being defended for the first time overseas in the main event as Madison Eagles defends in a triple threat match against Nicole Matthews and Jessie McKay.

* Pre-show match: JT Robinson and Jack Bonza vs. Robbie Eagles and William Kidd in tag action. Jack Bonza picked up the win for his team.

* It was announced that the show is being filmed for DVD and Internet pay-per-view.

* Britenay (NZ) vs. Shazza McKenzie to open the womens show. Very entertaining bout that the crowd was into. Shazza McKenzie won the match after hitting the Shaztastic Stunner.

* The next scheduled match was supposed to be Bombshell Bo vs. KC Cassidy. Queensland’s Minx and Cassidy (on crutches and wearing a knee brace) made their way to the ring. Cassidy announced that she had not been cleared to wrestle by her doctors and that her replacement to wrestle Bo would be Minx. Cassidy interfered toward the end of the match and hit Bo with one of her crutches but Bo persevered to win the match.

* Tag team action was up next with Harley Wonderland and JPE (NZ) taking on Victoria’s Eliza Sway and Kellyanne English. Notable moment early in the match was when English did a dive to the outside onto both Wonderland and JPE. English took the beatdown for most of the match but made a comeback and the hot tag to Sway. In the end, Sway picked up the win for her team.

* Savannah Summers entered the ring next but hid in the crowd, and when her opponent Megan-Kate (NZ) made her way out, she attacked her from behind. Megan-Kate scored the victory and Savannah left the ring to “you suck” chants.

* Intermission.

* “The Rate Tank” Kellie Skater vs. Evie (NZ) is up next to ring back in the action after a short break. Evie takes the win after an impressive, hard-hitting match!

* Time for the main event! Canada’s Nicole Matthews vs. “Everybody’s Favourite Girlfriend” Jessie McKay vs. champion Madison Eagles for the SHIMMER title. Match started with a triple headlock spot, and was followed by a three-person roll-up. Continued with a series of hard-hitting, high impact moves and impressive reversals. Huge McKay fan following in the building. Madison hit the Hellbound on Nicole Matthews and retains the championship after an excellent match. All girls receive a lengthy round of applause for their efforts.

PWA Australia’s next show will be taking place on October 7 at the Liverpool Masonic Center.

This week, both Raw & SmackDown were in action, as the Raw side of things brought us the inevitable Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres teaming together to face both Brie & Nikki Bella in tag team action. SmackDown went a different route, first providing AJ against Tamina, but then adding in Kaitlyn & Natalya for their second show to form a tag team bout. What happened this weekend? Thoughts: Raw had pretty much the same match we’ve been seeing for a while so I don’t have much to say on that, but SmackDown is where I’m interested, particularly the Sunday show. I assumed Natalya & Tamina may be on the same page since commentary continuously puts over Tamina as being similar to the Divas of Doom, but I kind of like it just being Nattie and Beth against everyone else. I’d love to see video of the aftermath to that show. Hopefully it hits the Internet soon. Overall, Raw’s drifting towards the same ol’ as SmackDown seems to be breathing life into something fresh.

This week, Raw, SmackDown, and Impact Wrestling were all in action after a few weeks off due to pay per views. On the Raw side, Kelly Kelly defended her Divas Championship against top contender, Beth Phoenix, in a rematch from Summerslam.

SmackDown and TNA both opted for tag team bouts. SmackDown pit AJ & Kaitlyn, against the team of Natalya & Rosa Mendes.

Meanwhile, TNA highlighted Mickie James & Velvet Sky against Angelina Love & Knockouts Champion, Winter.

Thoughts: Pretty expected matches all around, but it seems like they are really pushing Kelly against Beth at house shows to build their chemistry together, which is working great if SummerSlam is any indication. Their next televised match together should be even better with all of these live events they are getting to work together. SmackDown and TNA look solid as well, in a pair of nice tag matches for the live crowd. All in all, looks like a good weekend loop to attend.

Divas Champion, Kelly Kelly, retained her title against Beth Phoenix tonight at SummerSlam after stealthily countering the Glam Slam into a victory roll.

Kelly upset the Glamazon following a good match that saw Beth dominate Kelly. However, Kelly also had some shining spots including a great crossbody to Phoenix on the outside.

However, despite winning the match, it looks like Kelly has only infuriated the Glamazon even more. This one is far from over…

Thoughts: Enjoyable match that got decent time. The finish was the best move to make, as much as Beth fans will be unhappy, as it allows the feud to continue and grow over the coming month and hopefully lead to a rematch at the next PPV.

This weekend’s loop represented both Raw and SmackDown separately, as well as together for a supershow. On the Raw side of things, Divas Champion Kelly Kelly took on her top contender, Beth Phoenix, and SmackDown saw AJ battle against the Diva who turned her back on the resident Geek Goddess, Natalya. For the supershow, fans saw AJ host the event, leading to a tag match with Beth & Natalya against Kelly and Eve.

Beth said they may be friends but she wants the Diva’s Championship and told Eve to get out of her ring. Kelly Kelly then ran out and the Diva’s Title match started. Match started with the usual Kelly offense of a Thesz press, punches, the spinning head scissors, and the stinkface. Beth got fired up and started to pummel Kelly, using her own version of a stinkface, and dominated for about four minutes. After an over the shoulder backbreaker by Beth, Kelly rolled through with a schoolgirl cradle and got the win.” (Source)

“The Diva guest host is announced and it is AJ. She was about to host a dance contest but is interrupted by Beth Phoenix and Natayla. Beth Phoenix cuts a promo about the age of the model diva in the WWE is over and Beth and Natalya are the future of the ROLE Model diva. They are about to take out AJ but Kelly Kelly and Eve come out to make the save.” (Source)

Thoughts: The promo Beth & Natalya cut looks pretty interesting & telling of what might be to come. For years a number of people have criticized the WWE’s hiring policy, and I think it would be pretty interesting to have two characters portray the same feeling on screen against the ‘models’. I hope the beef between Kelly and Beth/Natalya extends for a long time because this could be a pretty great storyline if they go the route shown on the house show this weekend.

Thoughts: Given that the Raw and SmackDown brands were joined together for last night’s live event, the SmackDown crew will probably be at Raw tonight also, which means Beth and Natalya could be united on TV. Perhaps Beth’s promo was a dry run for tonight’s Raw explaining the motivation for the heel turns. I’m very excited to see what happens tonight on Raw.

TNA has crowned its first ever British Knockouts Champion in Winter.

The former Katie Lea defeated Mickie James to become the Knockouts Champion after a match filled with shenanigans from Winter and her cohort, Angelina Love.

Several times, Angelina attempted to interfere in the match and cost Mickie the win. Against all odds, Mickie perservered and seemingly had the match won after hitting a Tornado DDT on Winter from the corner and taking out Angelina.

However, she couldn’t foresee that the mystical Knockout Winter would spit some sort of red mist in her face ‘blinding’ her to steal the win.

After the match, an emotional Winter celebrated as Mickie writhed in pain, needing medical assistance.

Thoughts: This was another good Knockouts match tonight and the outcome is almost like a fairytale ending for Winter. Never getting the break she deserved in WWE, Winter came to TNA and rose to the top of the division and is now the Knockouts Champion. Not to mention, she makes history as the first ever British Knockouts Champion. After a rocky road, Winter gets her much deserved title reign. Congratulations to her!

Earlier this week, Winter was also crowned the new WILD Champion thus becoming a double-champion in the span of four days.

Knockouts Tag Team Champions, Tara and Miss Tessmacher, are still the Knockouts to beat after defeating Rosita and Sarita to retain their Tag Team Championships tonight at Hardcore Justice.

Following a fun tag team match that saw all four Knockouts shine, Tara picked up the win for her team with a Widow’s Peak on Rosita.

Thoughts: This was about 6-8 minutes and was a much better match than their initial match on Impact a couple of weeks ago. A lot of fun spots and the crowd was very into it which helped. One thing that must be pointed out is Tessmacher’s improvement in the ring. She really shined tonight.

Taping One

* Allysin Kay d. Tina San Antonio, Niya and Marti Belle via stranglehold backdrop. Post-match Marti and Tina argue outside the ring.

* Jessicka Havok comes out to congratulate Allysin and calls out Alicia. Alicia storms the ring and lays Allysin out with a kendo stick. Alicia cuts a promo saying that Jessicka needs Allysin Kay to help her fight her battles. Alicia says she’s going to kill Jessicka tonight.

* Nikki Syxx d. Barbie via piledriver.

* Jana and Jessie Brooks d. Jennifer Cruz and Monique via Jana Vice on Monique.

* Serena d. Annie Social via spear in a fantastic match. Annie got a HUGE pop for her rolling elbow out of nowhere. The chopfest between the two had the crowd going wild.

* Post-match, Serena gets on the mic and says she’s the best in the world and that she has her eye on the WSU title. Says she will take the title. Rain interupts and says that she deserves a title shot. Serena says she needs to prove it to her. Looks like it will be Serena vs Rain.

* Sassy Stephie d. Amber via Kiss My Sass to retain the WSU Spirit Championship.

* Gabby Gilbert (formerly known as Roxie Cotton) vs Rain is next.

* Rain informed management that she doesn’t work the midcard. Match is changed to Gabby Gilbert vs Violet.

* Gabby Gilbert d Violet via a unique double underhook submission.

* Amy Lee vs Brittany Savage Uncensored Rules Match is next.

* Brittany Savage d. Amy Lee via RKO. Amy Lee beat Savage all around the ring with everything from a cookie sheet to a golf club to a dildo… yes, you read that right.

* Post-match Lee calls Savage back and give her props. Lee then announces that this is her last match.

* Mercedes Martinez d. Lexxus with the fisherman buster in a fantastic 73 minute match that went all over the arena. Lexxus proved all her critics wrong and got a standing ovation post-match.

Taping Two

* Annie Social d. Monique via split-legged stunner.

* Post-match, Rick Cataldo calls out Monique and yells at her. Gabby Gilbert interrupt and we have our next match.

* Gabby Gilbert d. Rick Cataldo via top rope senton. After the match, they embrace and Gabby lays Rick out with a flatliner.

* Boston Shore d. Bonesaw and Jana to retain their tag belts. Post match they ask for more competition.

* Nikki Styxx d. Niya via submission. Niya’s handspring moonsault was amazing!

* Allysin Kay vs Sassy Stephie ends in no contest when Jessicka Havok comes out and convinces Sassy to join them. The trio is now known as the Midwest Militia.

* The Belle Saints come out and berate the Militia for throwing the match and challenge them to a match. Sassy and Kay v Belle Saints next.

* Midwest Militia d. Belle Saints. Sassy pins Marti with the Kiss My Sass. Post-match, Marti and Tina argue. Marti threatens to reveal a “dirty little secret” about Tina.

* Serena d. Rain via spear. After the match, Boston Shore rushes out and attacks Rain and Serena. Amber says she deserves a title shot next.

* Serena and Rain vs Boston Shore set for the next iPPV!

* Brittany Savage d. Jennifer Cruz with her RKO finisher. After the match Rick and Monique try to attack Savage, but she lays them all out.

* Alicia vs Jessicka Havok ends in no contest when Havok tries to suffocate Alicia and Brittany Savage makes the save. After a heated exchange, Amy Lee comes out and announce that she is WSU Commissioner. She announces Midwest Militia vs Mercedes, Alicia and Brittney at the November 19th iPPV.

Additionally, Allysin Kay vs Alicia, Sassy Stephie vs Savage for the Spirit Championship and Jessicka Havok vs Mercedes Martinez are booked for the March 2012 5th anniversary show.
