The former Playboy covergirl, who made her debut alongside real-life boyfriend “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett last December, has now been added to the ROH website.

Kanellis joins a select few female names on the roster, including Mia Yim (the first female talent as part of the new ROH under Sinclair Broadcasting), and Veda Scott, who serves as backstage interviewer.

Kanellis will be accompanying real-life boyfriend Mike Bennett to the ring for his match with Jay Lethal.

The former Playboy covergirl and Celebrity Apprentice star has been seen in the audience at various ROH events supporting her boyfriend, but this will mark her first appearance on camera.

Maria’s debut takes place at the Final Battle iPPV which emanates from the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Since being released by WWE in February 2010, Maria hasn’t really done much in wrestling, however, she is due to make an in-ring comeback next year for New York-based FWE against TNA’s Tara.

Speaking to Diva Dirt exclusively on last night’s episode of DD360, Sara spoke about her current status with ROH and recent discussions with the company, including the prospect of a new Women of Honor division next year as part of ROH’s new TV show under the Sinclair Broadcast Group banner.

Sinclair bought Ring of Honor earlier this year and launched a new ROH TV show in September, following the company’s departure from HDNet in April.

Following the move to Sinclair, Sara was surprised to find herself excluded from the roster page on ROHwrestling.com (the only female listed is Mia Yim), and tells us that her status with the company is up in the air at the moment.

She says: “I’d like to know as well! [Laughs] I have no idea. Once the Kings of Wrestling left, I understood I wasn’t going to be used for all the shows because mainly I was used in a managerial role. I knew that my presence would be limited in Ring of Honor. I think when I went to Japan a few months ago, I came back and I saw the new website and I was like, ‘Wow, that looks great!’ and then I went to the roster page and I was like, ‘Woah!’ It was just kind of a shock [to not see herself on there].”

The first ever SHIMMER Champion also reveals the exciting news that ROH may be launching a women’s division and have expressed interest in bringing her back.

The previous ROH on HDNet series featured the occasional women’s match, but a full-fledged women’s division never came to fruition.

Sara says: “Right now, they’re really starting from scratch again just re-establishing the brand and the product with Sinclair. I’ve talked to them recently and they have hopes to start the women’s division up, hopefully next year sometime, and they definitely want to include me.”

The Embassy come out and Prince Nana says he and Princess Mia have come all the way from Ghana. He calls her the prettiest woman in the world. Nana introduces the newest member of the Embassy — Dave Taylor.

During the match, some attempts at interference with Mia and Nana gettong on the apron, but Homicide is smartened up after last night’s interference.

Nice shoutout from Dave Prazak to Diva Dirt, mentioning that Mia’s spin kick on Homicide last night made headlines here.

Homicide goes for the Cop Killer but gets distracted by Mia who gets up on the apron. The distraction allows Ciampa to win the match with a northern lights suplex.

After the match, Homicide gets in the ring with a steel chair. He throws it at RD Evans and knocks him out. He’s now after Mia. He grabs her by the hair by Prince Nana pulls her out of the ring.

SHIMMER Tag Team Championship Match
Daizee and Tomoka don’t want to shake hands before the matcha nd get booed.

Hiroyo and Tomoka kick the match off. Side headlock by Hiroyo. Tomoka elbows her way out. Hiroyo runs the ropes and shoulder tackles Tomoka several times. Tomoka begs and pleads with her to stop. Daizee attacks Hiroyo from behind. Double team attempt by the champs is countered by a double crossbody.

Ayumi tags in and takes down Tomoka with a clothesline and then applies a submission but Daizee breaks it up by kicking Ayumi. Tomoka rakes Ayumi’s eyes and tags out to Daizee.

Daizee with a double chop. ‘Eat a sandwich’ chant for Daizee. Ayumi applies the tarantula/arm submission over the top rope on Daizee.

Ayumi goes up on top but Tomoka spits water in her face. Daizee goes for a cover but Ayumi kicks out. Tomoka back in the ring now and hits a snapmare. She hits a low dropkick & goes for pin but kick-out.

Ayumi runs the ropes and manages to roll up Tomoka but no three. Daizee knocks Hiroyo off the apron. Double team dropkick/bulldog by the champions.

Ayumi with a dropkick on Tomoka. Hiroyo tagged in and begins clearing house of both the champions. Kick in the face from Tomoka. Hiroyo hits a backdrop on Tomoka. Body slam attempt on Daizee but Daizee manages to apply a sleeper hold. Ayumi jumps on top of both women and applies a sleeper hold too. Hiroyo drops down on Tomoka.

Double knee smash in the corner by both Ayumi and Hiroyo on Tomoka. Ayumi with a double-knee smash (Codebreaker) and low dropkick. Ayumi goes for Urinagi but Tomoka counters and tags Daizee.

Daizee with forearms. Ayumi hits a back-stabber (think Carlito). Hiroyo with a missile dropkick on Nakagawa.

Urinagi by Ayumi on Daizee, Backdrop driver by Hiroyo. Hiroyo goes for the pin but Tomoka pulls the referee’s leg out of the ring.

Ayumi with a heart punch & yakuza kick. Tiger suplex on Ayumi for the win!

Tomoka and Daizee retain.

Ayumi and Hiroyo get a big applause and a ‘Please come back’ chant from the crowd to end.

Thoughts: Another fantastic match. Very fast paced. Even better match than last night.

Set for today’s show is a SHIMMER Tag Team Championship match, marking the first time the belts have been defended in ROH. Champions Daizee Haze and Tomoka Nakagawa defend against Ayumi Kurihara and Hiroyo Matsumoto.

Matsumoto and Serena kicking off the action. They lock up and Serena applies a waistlock, taking Hiroyo down and stomping on her hand. Arm-lock reversed by Hiroyo. A series of arm drags by Hiroyo on Serena.

Del Rey tags in now. ‘Queen of Wrestling’ chant breaks out. Hiroyo raises her arm for a lock-up but Del Rey kicks her in the gut.

Del Rey walks into a boot as Hiroyo tags out to Ayumi. Knees in the corner to Del Rey by Ayumi followed by a clothesline by Hiroyo. Ayumi with another double-knee smash in the corner. Suplex with a bridge pin but Del Rey kicks out.

Del Rey with kicks on Ayumi and pin attempt. She tags out to Serena. Serena gets in the ring and is taken down with a dropkick immediately. Ayumi applies a unique submission which is broken up by Del Rey who comes in and kicks Ayumi.

Del Rey in control now with forearms and whips Ayumi into the ropes. Hiroyo holds onto Ayumi. Serena runs at Ayumi but she moves out of the way. Serena falls out of the ring. Ayumi with a crossbody from the top turnbuckle on Serena on the outside.

Action returns to the ring where Ayumi has Serena in the corner. Goes for a monkey flip, Serena moves out of the way and puts her up on the turnbuckle. Ayumi manages to apply a tarantula/armbar on the ropes. It’s broken up by Del Rey. Pin attempt by Serena but no three.

Del Rey back in now, stomping away at Ayumi in the corner. Double team back elbow by Del Rey & Serena. Del Rey picks up Ayumi in Glam Slam-esque position and allows Serena to sock her before planting her on the mat.

Serena tags back in and slams Ayumi.

SHIMMER Tag Team Champions, Daizee Haze & Tomoka Nakagawa have come out to ringside and are scouting the match!

Cravat by Serena on Ayumi. Crowd trying to get Ayumi back into it. Serena picks up Ayumi but she counters into a cradle.

Sara jumps into the ring and knocks Hiroyo off the apron. She tags in but gets hit with a double-knee smash (Codebreaker). Ayumi tags in Hiroyo who begins to clear house & hits a crossbody on both women.

Hiroyo hits a gutbuster on Del Rey and has the match won with a pin but Serena breaks it up. Serena begins hitting Hiroyo with big punches, she runs the ropes but Hiroyo comes at her with a clothesline. Capo Kick from Del Rey on Hiroyo. Missile dropkick from Ayumi on Del Rey. Urinagi from Ayumi on Serena. Hiroyo then hits a backdrop driver on Serena to pick up the win!

Winners: Ayumi Kurihara & Hiroyo Matsumoto.

They will face Tomoka & Daizee tomorrow on the second iPPV.

The two tag teams have a staredown. Tomoka spits water Ayumi’s face and they flee the arena to end the segment.

Thoughts: Great match. Fast paced and exciting. A good taste of the Joshi talent for those who’ve never seen them before. Also a nice set-up for tomorrow’s SHIMMER Tag Team Championship match.

For the past several months you’ve known her as Mia Yim – independent wrestler and Diva Dirt LIVE co-host, but tonight Mia Yim becomes Princess Mia, ROH’s newest roster addition.

Ahead of her television debut on ROH on HDNet, we caught up with the Embassy’s princess to find out about her new role. Used to the fun, friendly Mia Yim of Diva Dirt LIVE, we quickly realised that Princess Mia has a whole new attitude! Read below:

Congratulations on your TV debut! Tell us a little bit about what you’ll be doing.
Mia: I will be by my prince [Nana]’s side in the Embassy. The Embassy is Prince Nana and I, our crown jewel Tommaso Ciampa, RD Evans, and Ernesto Osiris.

So how did you get recruited as the Princess?
Mia: Well, Prince Nana insisted I be his princess since I come from Korean royalty. I also have the beauty and wrestling background. I’m not just a pretty face!

You’re certainly not! You’re a pretty kick-ass princess, right?
Mia: Of course I am, I put in my share of work to make the Embassy the best and most powerful stable there is.

Tell us what it’s like working alongside Prince Nana?
Mia: Prince Nana is phenomenal. He treats me like the princess that I am, and gives me whatever I want. He really knows how to treat a fine, young lady

And you mentioned him earlier, your ‘crown jewel’, Tommaso Ciampa. What’s his deal?
Mia: He is the apple of mine and Prince Nana’s eye. He is the unstoppable machine the Embassy needs. He will destroy anything and everything in our way. He is truly something special.

More special than Ernesto? He helps you put on your shoes!
Mia: Yes he does, and he deserves more credit for his work! I must say, he is always there when needed.

What are the Embassy’s goals in ROH? Gold? Supremacy?
Mia: Ultimate power and respect. We want to be the top dog in the business, and it will happen. The new Embassy will not fail.

Fans will see you get physical in your debut tonight. Let’s just say you have quite a kick. It seems you’re not afraid to tumble with the guys?
Mia: Of course I’m not afraid. Why should I be? I can do just as much, if not more than the men.

What about the other Women of Honor? Will we be seeing you mix it up in the ring on your own?
Mia: If they get in the way of the Embassy and my Prince, then yes. I see it happening.

So everyone’s dying to know… who are your favorite princesses aside from yourself?
Mia: Aside from myself? There is no other princess better than me, so this question is irrelevant. I am my favorite!

Not even Jasmine? :(
Mia: Ill give her credit, she is beautiful and was a decent princess…but I have since stole the princess crown.

Back on track, the ROH on HDNet series is ending soon. Will we see you on on TV again?
Mia: That is unknown for now, but I am crossing my fingers for more TV appearances, not only for me, but the whole ROH.

You’ve got some big appearances coming up for ROH – you’ll be in Atlanta on April 1st and 2nd for the two Internet pay per views. Excited for your iPPV debut?
Mia: I am very excited. I cant wait for The Embassy to show more of what we have.

Diva Dirt will also be in ATL hosting a little party, might the Princess stop by?
Mia: I am a very busy princess. It really depends on if I want to devote an hour of my time to be amongst the peasants of ATL.

Following a short match, Del Rey picked up the victory with a wrist clutch slam.

After the bout, she taunted MsChif by spitting in her face, but ‘Chif hit back with a face full of green mist sending the Queen reeling. The segment closed with officials helping a fallen Del Rey while MsChif let out her patented scream.

Thoughts: Compared to the last iPPV match in December, this bout felt like a letdown. The match was too short in my opinion and didn’t really get out of first gear as a result. It was also disappointing to see the lively Chicago crowd quieten down for this match.

According to the official match preview, the bout stems from MsChif’s actions on a recent episode of ROH on HDNet. Get the details:

After that bout The Haze, in a true sign of sportsmanship, accepted her defeat graciously and attempted to shake the hand of the former SHIMMER Champion. MsChif refused, turned her back on Daizee, and began to walk away to the locker room. Haze attempted to find out what MsChif’s problem was, and was greeted with poison green mist spat into her face! Daizee has been out of ROH competition since that night while MsChif has gone on to state that she isn’t here for respect or to prove she is the best, she is simply here to dominate women’s wrestling and to prove to both Daizee and Sara Del Rey that they are no competition for her.

Well on February 26th; live on iPPV at the “9th Anniversary Show” MsChif will have the opportunity to back up her words when she goes one-on-one with the self-proclaimed “Queen of Wrestling” Sara Del Rey! Usually very confident, if not boastful, Del Rey surprisingly expressed some trepidation when informed of the match.

“MsChif and I have been in the ring plenty of times.” Stated Del Rey, “But there’s something different about her, something dangerous I haven’t seen before. There’s not love lost between myself and Daizee but even I, the Queen of Wrestling, think that MsChif pushed it a little too far. MsChif has always been unpredictable, but this…this ruthlessness is something new to me.”

Independent wrestler and friend of Diva Dirt, Mia Yim has officially joined Ring of Honor.

Yim made her debut today at the final ROH on HDNet tapings in Philadelphia under the name ‘Princess Mia’. She is aligned with the Embassy stable, led by Prince Nana.

The news is kind of bittersweet: On the plus side, Mia will make her national television debut on ROH. However, as has been widely reported in the past couple of weeks, the ROH on HDNet television series will end in April with today’s taping being the last.

Nonetheless, congratulations to Mia on joining ROH!

We kick off with a nice video package with Daizee Haze and Sara Del Rey discussing how they’d like to see more competition for women in ROH and their rivalry with each other. They want to test each other and put each other ‘through a battle’.

Del Rey and Serena are out first in matching red gear. Next is Daizee and Kong, now going by ‘Awesome Kong’ in ROH rather than ‘Amazing Kong’.

Daizee & SDR kick things off as Del Rey slams haze onto the mat. Daizee manages to hit a hurricanrana into a roll up but Del Rey kicks out. She later then hits another hurricanrana from the top rope.

Del Rey tags out to Serena who stops Haze from tagging out to Kong. The fans chant ‘CM Punk’ in reference to Serena. As the action is going on, Del Rey runs into the ring with a boot to Kong on the apron. Del Rey tags back in and begins stomping Daizee in the corner before applying an abdominal stretch. She tags out to Serena who applies an abdominal stretch of her own, digging her elbow into Daizee’s side. She then receives some leverage from SDR from the outside, holding her arm from the outside. SDR now tags in and they do the same spot with Del Rey holding Serena’s hand on the outside. As the referee is distracted by Kong, Daizee has Del Rey rolled up and could have had won the match.

Serena tags in and dominates until Daizee hits a Daizee Cutter from the corner. The referee begins a double count out. They both make it to their corners as Kong and Del Rey are tagged in. Kong hits a big splash on Del Rey and goes for an Awesome Bomb but Del Rey counters with a kick. She runs the ropes but runs into a clothesline from Kong. Del Rey is then hit with the Implant Buster. Pin attempt but no three.

Daizee tags in and climbs on Kong’s shoulders, hitting her a somersault onto Del Rey. Serena jumps in and breaks up a pin. She is hit with a heart punch by Daizee and a leg drop from Kong. Del Rey hits the capo kick on Kong. Del Rey and Daizee then exchange some moves as Daizee hits a sunset flip on Daizee. She kicks out.

SDR with a Royal Butterfly followed by a piledriver and nearly has the match won but Kong breaks up the count. Serena hits a spear on Kong taking her down. Another piledriver from SDR on Daizee and this time it’s all over. Serena and Del Rey win.

After the match, Kong carries Daizee out of the arena.

Thoughts: A fun, highly energetic/frenetic match. Del Rey and Haze were easily the standouts. Wish it could’ve been longer.

Final Battle will feature a big Women of Honor tag team match as Daizee Haze teams up with Amazing Kong to take on Sara Del Rey and Serena Deeb in her first appearance for one of the big three since being released from WWE.

On November 24th, it was announced that Amazing Kong had stepped up to the plate and allied herself with Daizee Haze for the “Final Battle 2010” tag team match (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/amazing-kong-steps-up-to-the-plate/). The questions that have been floating around in the weeks since have all been in regards to Sara Del Rey and her partner. Many names have floated around, partners have been speculated upon, but now we have the official word from the self-proclaimed “Queen of Wrestling”.

“I scoured the world.” said Del Rey, “I searched high and low for a woman capable of standing beside me in that ring. Quite honestly, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Thoughts: This has shaped up to be a must-see match. If ROH can retain Kong and Serena’s services for TV and begin a regular division using these four, the possibilities are endless. ROH could be the one to watch for women’s wrestling in 2011.

Quick Thoughts: It’s amazing that ROH can dedicate an entire 10 minutes to this match with just a one hour show, yet we’re lucky if we 5 on WWE television and sometimes, TNA too. This was a really solid, hard fought match that more than lived up to the hype. Kudos to SDR, Haze and ROH.

Daizee Haze & the returning Amazing Kong will team up to take on Sara Del Rey and a partner of her choosing.

The match announcement stems from this past Monday’s episode of ROH on HDNet which saw the two face off. Afterwards, things got heated backstage…

Speaking on enlisting Kong, Daizee told ROHwrestling.com:

“I went to Kong, not only because she holds a recent victory over Sara Del Rey,” stated Haze, “but also because together we are the perfect balance of speed and strength, agility and power, and because, aside from myself, there is no one who knows Del Rey better than Kong! At Final Battle, Kong and I will bring the best of women’s wrestling to New York City and take the competition straight to Sara Del Rey and whoever she can find to tolerate her arrogant, pompous, better than everybody attitude.”

After both women make their way to the ring, they graciously shake hands as the referee calls for the bell. They briefly circle the ring before Daizee secures Rachel into a side head lock. Rachel then slowly backs her up into the turnbuckle, forcing Daizee to break the hold before hitting her with a back elbow. Rachel tries to take advantage of the cheap shot by running to the other turnbuckle and then charging back at Daizee, who gets her feet into the air and knock Rachel down. Daizee gives Rachel time to gather herself and tries to go after her before being taken down by a drop told hold.

Rachel then applies a headlock of her own to Daizee. They both get to their feet when Daizee tries to squat down and break the hold, but Rachel counters it into a wristlock. She is able to keep the hold on for about a minute before Daizee does a front roll and reverses the wrist lock on to Rachel. She then twists Rachel’s arm and flips her on her back while keeping the arm hold applied. Daizee switches the hold to where she is able to put more pressure on the upper arm of Rachel before putting her in another headlock.

Rachel punches Daizee in the gut in attempt to escape the hold, but decides to swing Daizee’s arm into the suplex position. She hooks Daizee’s leg, trying to give her the fisherman duplex, but Daizee keeps herself grounded. Realizing that the fisherman suplex wasn’t going to work, Rachel settles for the swinging neck breaker. She keeps the leg hooked for the pin, but Daizee kick out at two.

After the failed pin attempt, Rachel stalks Daizee to the nearest turnbuckle, delivering a kick and a couple shots to the face. Rachel irish whips Daizee to the opposite turnbuckle, charges after her, but Daizee moves out of the way causing her to run into the turnbuckle chest first. Daizee takes this opportunity to roll Rachel up for the pin. After going after Daizee again, Rachel is taken down by the legs from Daizee going for another pin, but Rachel is able to bridge and get her shoulders off the canvas. The two women spend a good amount of time with their arms hooked, back to back, trying to force each other into a pin, but Rachel is the winner of this “test of strength” as she is able to hit the Gory Bomb on Daizee.

Rachel thought for sure she was going to get the win in her ROH debut, but Daizee kicks out! Daizee gets some time to get back to her feet while Rachel questions the ref about the count and kicks her in the midsection followed by a couple of chops. Rachel chops her back and pushes her up against the rope for an irish whip, but Daizee reverses, kicks Rachel in the midsection before running back to the ropes and coming back with the Yakuza kick. She then tries to pick up Rachel from behind for what looks to be a belly to back suplex. Rachel plants her feet further onto the mat for resistance following a sit down and rolling Daizee up for the pin.

Daizee kicks out of the pin goes for a headlock. Rachel quickly counters it and tries to go for the big back body drop. Daizee flips over onto her feet before giving Rachel the Heart Punch following the German Suplex for the win.

A much more competitive match than last week’s, wasn’t it? It really doesn’t surprise me, though. Rachel Summerlyn is a very solid wrestler who continues to get better and better each time I see her. Could this be something we see more of in coming weeks? Well, if you haven’t read or heard about the blog Daizee wrote on the ROH website, Daizee talks about her and Sara Del Rey wanting more women coming into ROH and challenging them. All signs are certainly pointing that way. Do you recall the last time these two made a similar challenge in CHIKARA? Let’s hope history repeats itself and they get what they ask for.

The match starts off with Taeler making the ultimate mistake by falling for Sara’s attempt of a handshake. Sara reels her right in, sending her to the nearest turnbuckle followed by a Coppo kick to Taeler’s head. Sara doesn’t slow down there as she begins to deliver vicious forearms to the face of Taeler. Sara then drags Taeler out to the middle of the ring by her hair where she executes a gut wrench back breaker. Thinking that Taeler is already done for, Sara kneels on her chest for a very cocky pin, but Taeler is able to get the shoulder up.

Sara wastes no time and goes back to Taeler’s hair and take’s her to the ropes, using them as leverage while still pulling on the hair of Taeler. Sara then steps out on to the apron, pulls Taeler’s upper body through the ropes, and begins to kick her viciously right on the chest.

Taeler tries to slither away from Sara, who continues to stalk and kick her before grabbing both of Taeler’s arms and bending them back in a submission hold. Taeler is able to work her way up to her feet, reversing the hold, and dropping down on her butt for a jaw breaker to Sara! Sara bends down, clutching her jaw while Taeler takes the opportunity to give Sara a dose of her own medicine by delivering a powerful kick of her own.

Taeler continues to feel the effects of Sara’s kicks from the earlier in the match and doesn’t recuperate in time before Sara knees her in the gut. Sara tries to Irish Whip Taeler to the ropes, but she reverses and hits Sara in the face with a spin kick, knocking Sara off of her feet for a bit. Sara quickly regains her composure and charges after Taeler, before being taken down by a elbow to the chest.

Taeler is on a wave of momentum and tries to get the crowd on their feet before climbing the top turnbuckle. She comes flying off with a double ax handle attempt, but is met with a stomach full of Sara’s boot. If anything was going to put a stop to Taeler’s momentum, that was it! The crowd (and I) begin to sense that the end is near for Taeler as Sara yanks her up and rolls her into a cross arm bar where Taeler submits within seconds.

Now, don’t get me wrong. This was a solid match, but it was a glorified squash. Clearly the message ROH is trying to send across is can anyone come into ROH and stop Sara Del Rey? Or atleast push her to the limit? I think they are going to bring in someone soon who will be able to do it. I wouldn’t mind seeing Jamilia Craft come back & making Sara humble. We shall see, but until then make sure you check out ROH’s sister promotion, SHIMMER (I’m sure you’ve heard of it) on ROHwrestling.com for their newest DVDs.

Del Rey and Kong will be on opposing teams today at CHIKARA’s Chikarasaurus Rex event. Kong reunites with TNA manager, Raisha Saeed to take on Del Rey and Daizee Haze.

Great to see Kong & SDR in the main event of the show. The two will battle tonight in Chicago in a rematch from their Supercard of Honor V match back in May. We’ll hopefully have results tomorrow.

With a big feud of Kong vs Del Rey on ROH shows, I have to wonder if things will spill over into the SHIMMER tapings in September. Perhaps a big blow-off match on one of the volumes?

Last night, Ring of Honor debuted in Louisville, KY at the Danny Davis arena. Yours truly was in attendance for the sole fact that the Women of Honor were on the card. In a bout before their team up at Chikarasaurus Rex this weekend, Sara Del Rey took on Daizee Haze. Accompanied by the Kings of Wrestling, Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli (who has one of the best 6-packs I’ve ever seen, by the way), Del Rey was actually on the defensive for part of the match. Never let Daizee’s size fool you, she kept Sara on her toes at all points in the match. In the end, she did manage to pull off the win, getting Del Rey in a rollup.

Seeing these two in person for the first time was an absolute thrill. Del Rey has some of the stiffest kicks and forarms — stiffer than most of the men! Daizee’s athletic ability and agility are amazing. Both are outstanding physically — Haze is ripped and Sara’s guns are so buff, she ought to register with the NRA. (Cue crickets here.)

Also, after the show I ran into former TNA Knockout and current OVW star Josie aka Sojo Bolt. She’s an incredibly sweet woman who took the time to let her fans know she appreciates all the support she’s gotten throughout her career. She’s still wrestling in OVW, but now she’s mainly helping to build the next generation of women wrestlers. She also let me know that she’s a huge Diva Dirt fan!

All in all, Ring of Honor had an excellent show last night. I’m glad they came to Louisville — it gave me a taste of what’s to come in September and a chance to catch up with Josie!

After a week long hiatus, we are back with the ROH Recap! Two weeks ago, we seen the impressive rookie, ‘Jumpin’ Jamilia Craft, take her mentor, Daizee Haze, to the limit. This week she faces a bigger (literally and figuretively) task, having to grapple with one of the strongest women in the business, Sara Del Rey.

The bell rings as Jamilia proceeds with the code of honor, extending her hand to Sara, but instead gets a huge boot upside her head. Sara takes advantage of a dazed Jamilia by hooking her from behind and delivering a belly to back suplex, keeping her fingers locked for the pin. Is the match over already? Jamilia doesn’t think so as she rolls her shoulders off the mat before the three count. Sara’s jaw drops in disbelief and her facial expression screams “This b!tch did not just kick out?!”. Sure enough, she says “This bitch?!”. Sorry Sara, but it’s going to take more than that to keep this woman down.

Sara gets up and kicks at Jamilia like she’s dirt on the side of a road. Sara then takes her to the ropes, shoving her head through the middle, and proceeds to choke Jamilia out with the most pressure coming from her legs. While this is happening, Sara and her cronies taunt the crowd.

Sara decides to make her way to the apron and delivers multiple kicks to the chest of Jamilia. Jamilia crumbles to the mat as Sara goes for another quick pin. Jamilia shows she still has some fight left as she kicks out again.

Sara immediately picks her up and delivers a beautiful snap suplex before sitting Jamilia up, trying to rip the mask off of her face. Realising that she is unsuccessful, an angry Sara gives a stiff kick to the back of Jamilia. She sends Jamilia to the turnbuckle following a charge, but charges right into Jamilia’s elbow. Sara tries to give her a right handed punch to the face, but Jamilia comebacks again with a pair a feet to Sara’s face.

Jamilia runs toward Sara and is picked up for what looks to be a sidewalk slam by Sara, but quickly counters it into an inverted DDT. Jamilia tries to get the upset and goes for the pin, but isn’t even close as Sara kicks out after one.

Jamilia tries to continue the momentum and runs to the ropes only to have her momentum stopped by a big boot to the face courtesy of Sara Del Rey. Not wanting to give her another chance to get an upset, Sara picks Jamilia up and delivers a piledriver for the win.

I’m not going to lie. I was immediately dissappointed when I seen the run time for this match, but looking at the line up of the show it is understandable. There were three other matches (one being a streetfight I believe) and not to mention the interview segments in between. That is a lot to squeeze in the span of an hour.

That said, Jamilia got very little offense in, but it is better than nothing which is what I initially thought it was going to be after Sara pinned her at the beginning of the match. As advertised during the match, Sara has a big rematch against Amazing Kong. Kong will definitely be looking for revenge after what happened in their last meeting. It was important for Sara to look strong and focused in this match before this weekend. I think we will be seeing a rematch between Sara and Jamilia in the future where the match will be given more time and Jamilia will be given the chance to display more of her offensive weapons.

Craft made her ROH debut a couple of weeks ago against her mentor, Daizee Haze.

In this edition of the ROH Recap, we have 18 year old “Jumping” Jamilia Craft going up against seasoned veteran Daizee Haze. Watch below:

This match starts off with Jamilia already waiting in the ring wearing her Macho Man-esque gear while Daizee makes her entrance.

The women shake hands in the middle of the ring before referee Bryce Remsburg orders for the bell. Daizee tries to engage a lock up with her opponent, but Jamilia has other things on her mind as she does a front roll. The two women circle a ring for a few more seconds before Daizee initiates the first move by securing a waist lock and then converting to a wrist lock before forcing Jamilia down on to her back. While she has Jamilia on the mat, Daizee begins to knee her in the arm while still latching on to her wrist.

Daizee sits Jamilia back up and begins to wrench her arm. Jamilia stands back up momentarily, but Daizee takes her down quickly with a hip toss. Daizee continues to work Jamilia’s arm by instilling an arm bar. Jamilia make her way back up again and again Daizee takes her down by the arm, but this time she locks her in a head scissors. Jamilia tries to use her legs to thrust out of it, but despite her efforts Daizee keeps the submission secured.

That doesn’t last very much longer as Jamilia rolls around on the mat and is able to capture Daizee into a side head lock. Daizee works her way back up to her feet and tries to escape the headlock by sending Jamilia off the ropes, but she continues to keep Daizee in that side head lock. Daizee delivers a jab to the midsection and tries to send her off the rope yet again, but is unsuccessful for the second time as Jamilia maintains the side headlock.

Jamilia decides she wants to ground Daizee Haze and executes a headlock hip toss. This does no good for the rookie as Daizee shows off some more of her technical skills by rolling her shoulders off of the match and securing Jamilia in another wristlock. Jamilia shows some technical skills of her own by rolling out of the wristlock and securing Daizee Haze in another side headlock.

Instead of trying to twist and turn her way out of the submission again, Daizee backs Jamilia up into the nearest turnbuckle and follows up three shoulder thrust into the midsection of Jamilia. Daizee then sends Jamilia into the opposite corner, bouncing her off the turnbuckle, and delivering a dropkick.

Jamilia quickly gets back up, but Daizee catches her by the wrist, throws her down, and goes back to work on Jamilia’s arm again with another armbar. Jamilia tries to scoot her way to the ropes, but is halted when Daizee starts to drive her knee into Jamilia’s repeatedly. Daizee begins to wrench Jamilia’s arm harder while Jamilia begins to inch her way to the ropes again and this time she’s got it!

Despite the break, Daizee Haze continues to secure the submission while up until the referee’s four count. Daizee gets up and has a few words for the crowd before going right back to the arm by grabbing Jamilia by the wrist and driving her own shoulder into her arm. Daizee drives Jamilia down to the ring face first puts her in a submission where she is able to put pressure on the back and arm of Jamilia. Jamilia rolls her way out of the roll causing both of the wrestlers to get to her feet where she is met with by forearms to the back from Daizee.

Daizee tries to pick her up for a body slam, but Jamilia jumps down and delivers a beautiful inverted DDT! A hazed Daizee (see what I did that there?) slowly gets back on her feet and tries to deliver a right hand, Jamilia blocks and comes back with a right hand of her own! Daizee tries to deliver another right hand, but again Jamilia blocks it and counters with her own.

At this point, Jamilia starts to catch fire, delivering several right hands to Daizee while backing her up towards the ropes. She attempts to Irish whips Daizee to the opposite side, but Daizee reverses hoping to catch her in a clothesline. Jamilia ducks, running to the ropes and comes back with a flying clothesline to Daizee Haze! Jamilia is completely fired up as Daizee tries to run at her but is picked up and hit by a spinning side slam from Jamilia.

Jamilia stays on top of her for the first pin of the match up, but Daizee is able to kick out before three. Jamilia looks at the referee a little bit shocked. Her loss focus costs her as Daizee, hits her with a chop, heart punch, and a double under hook belly to back suplex for the win.

At first, I wanted to say I was bit underwhelmed with this match, but then I quickly remembered that Jamilia has only been wrestling for about a year. With that said, this was a very basic match. They kept each other grounded for a majority of it with some technical wrestling, but towards the end is where I really thought the crowd was starting to get into it and both wrestlers were starting to catch fire.

I do advise you all to pick up SHIMMER Vol. 29 where Jamilia debuts against Mercedes Martinez in a good match. Mercedes brings the classic “taking the rookie to school” concept while Jamilia pulls some tricks out of the bag and is able to hold her own against the more experienced Mercedes Martinez.

Jamilia has impressed many after wrestling for just one year and we at Diva Dirt wish her the best!

In that match, which took place in New York, Del Rey stole the win by hitting Kong with a metal elbow pad.

ROH has finalised a deal for Kong to appear at their May 8th show at the Manhattan Center in New York. She will face former SHIMMER Champion and on-off tag team partner, Sara Del Rey.

ROH on HDNet continues Mondays at 8pm ET.

Out first is Portia, who is playing the babyface role in this match. At first, the image of Portia slapping fives with the fans kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I mean, she is one of the most hated heels in SHIMMER after all. Even though Del Rey is the bigger heel in this instance, I would have liked Perez to still keep her heel persona, if only to keep some consistency between SHIMMER and ROH.

Sara Del Rey hits the ring next accompanied by… um… well, I don’t really who he is to be honest. I’m sure his name was mentioned a time or two, but let’s be honest: We’re not watching this match for him, are we? The ladies adhere to ROH’s Code of Honor and shake hands, but as soon as the bell sounds Del Rey goes on the attack, forcing her smaller opponent into the corner and taking her to the mat with forearm strikes and a few stomps for good measure. Referee Bryce Remsburg tries to pull Del Rey off of the pint-sized Portia, but Sara is having none of that.

While Del Rey is busy with the ref, Portia takes the opportunity to roll Sara up with a schoolboy for a two count. Portia tries to get of the offensive but is laid out by another vicious forearm. Del Rey tries for a wheelbarrow but Perez reverses it for another near fall and pays for it with a kick to the head. Sara keeps on her opponent, pulling her up by the hair and tying her up in the ropes. Del Rey proceeds to level Portia with some nasty (in a good way) kicks to the chest folowed by a snap suplex for a two count.

Sara continues to bring the hurt to Portia, utilizing her trademark headbutts and hip attacks to wear Perez down. Del Rey is on fire until she misses a Capo Kick in the corner and Portia capitalizes with a few stiff punches and a impressive tilt-a-whirl into a tornado DDT. Portia hulks up and hits a low dropkick for a two count, but is stopped in her tracks by Del Rey, who takes her out with a very unique suplex for a near fall. Before Portia can regain her composure, Sara hits her Capo Kick followed by a piledriver for the win.

I have to admit this was an impressive showing for the Women of Honor in their first match of 2010. When I read this match on paper, I thought it would be a total squash match, but I was pleasantly surprised. Portia more than held her own, and managed to take the fall without coming off as weak, which would be not be good for a current champion. Another high point in this match was watching Sara Del Rey’s unique offense, her piledriver finisher in particular. I honestly cant remember the last time I’ve seen woman use a piledriver, Del Rey executed it perfectly and had me cringing on Portia’s behalf.

I find it amazing that ROH can put on a match of this caliber in six minutes, yet WWE and TNA can’t even come close for a PPV. Seriously, WWE and TNA should take note. This is how you you put on a women’s wrestling match. Hopefully this match wasn’t a one-hitter quitter and we’ll see more from the Women of Honor on a regular basis. Before this match, the last time they were featured on HD Net was in September of 2009, which is a crying shame. I could see this turning into a series of squash matches, culminating in Sara facing (and possibly losing to) an opponent of equal stature, but judging from past experience, I’m not holding my breath.

SHIMMER stars Sara Del Rey will take on one half of the Tag Team Champions, Portia Perez of the Canadian Ninjas.

ROH on HDNet will air a special ‘Best of 2009′ episode this coming Monday [12/28] at 8pm.

Making her way way to the ring first (and looking great, I might add) is Nikki Roxx, followed by Sara Del Rey, who is being accompanied to the ring by her ridiculous eyebrows (Don’t tell her I said that).

Straight out of the gate, the two women get into a shoving match. Unfortunately for Nikki, the exchange ends when Sara slaps the taste out of her mouth. Nikki tries to get the upperhand with a dropkick and a chop in the corner, but is taken out by a unique rolling heel kick from Del Rey.

In typical ‘Death Rey’ fashion, Sara takes control of match using kicks and stomps to keep Nikki on the mat. She even takes time out to verbally abuse the referee. Now’s that’s  multitasking. After a flurry of offense and a near fall, Del Rey goes for a submission and the crowd goes wild for Nikki. Nikki easily powers out of the submission just to be taken down by a handful of hair and a nasty knee to the head. Ouch.

After narrowly escaping defeat, Nikki avoids a big boot from ‘Death Rey’. She goes for a boot of her own, but Sara has the same thing in mind. Both ladies connect and I wince in front of my monitor. Double ouch. Nikki follows up with some stiff elbows to the head and a beautiful fall away slam for a 2 count.

Looking to finish Del Rey off, Roxx goes for the Barbie Crusher, but Sara escapes with a knee to the head and a sick roundhouse kick. Wasting no time, Sara locks in the Royal Butterfly and hits it to pick up the win.

Not a bad match from the veterans in my opinions. A little short for my taste, but still a good match. When I first saw this match on paper, I expected a total squash match for Del Rey. Thankfully, ROH let Nikki get in some solid offense against the former champ.

Best spot of the match goes to the sick double boot. Such a simple move, yet it had me cringing when I saw it. That had to hurt.

Outside of the actual wrestling, I loved how supportive the ROH fans were of Roxxi. Kinda sad that such a small venue makes more noise for the SHIMMER girls than a huge arena makes for the Divas.

On a unrelated note, WWE or TNA really need to scoop up Dave Prazak. He’s a genius on commentary: “You know what that look means? SHE DON’T LIKE YOU!” Priceless.

Fellow ROH and SHIMMER fans, I hope you enjoyed that. Knowing ROH it’ll be the last SHIMMER match we’ll see for a while. Oh well, there’s always the DVDs…

After weeks and weeks of waiting, SHIMMER fans are finally treated to some SHIMMER-lite goodness on HDNet. This week the team of Neveah and Daizee Haze take on former SHIMMER Champion Sara Del Rey and current SHIMMER Champion MsChif. Check out the match below:

The heels enter first to a cheap plug for SDR’s new Twitter page followed by Neveah and Daizee. Will someone please get Neveah some new ring gear!!! She seems to be wearing that same outfit everytime I see her. Anyway, onto the match.

Neveah and MsChif start things off with a lockup. Neveah with a slam from behind into a hammerlock into a really pretty bridge. After an questionable armdrag,  Neveah tags in Daizee and executes a double hip toss for a near fall. Daizee goes for an arm wringer but MsChif reverses with an impressive frontflip. Sidenote:  I think it amazing that a woman of MsChif’s body type can pull off such graceful maneuvers. Not that she’s fat or anything, but she doesn’t strike me as the type to be so agile and flexible.

Daizee counters with a reversal of her own into a couple of armdrags. Daizee tags in her partner who hit her trademark necksnap/sliding clothesline combo. She goes for the pin, but it’ s broken up by Del Rey. Neveah goes back on the attack with a scoopslam, but her momentum is halted by Del Rey once again. MsChif takes advantage and hits a perfect standing moonsault for a two.

Sara is back in the match and takes it to Neveah with a headbutt and several stomps. After one last stomp to the face (ouch), Del Rey gets Neveah back to her feet and whips her to the corner. Nevaeh attempts a bottom rope crossbody (…really Neveah?), only to be planted by Del Rey’s modified suplex.

Quick tags by the heels, working over Neveah, who needs a tag desperately. After a reversal, Neveah finally manages to get to her corner and tag in Daizee, who lights a fire under this match. After a Gail Kim-esque drop kick, Daizee hits a flurry but only gets a two count. After a failed monkey flip, Neveah blind tags Daizee. Here’s where things get really cool.

Oblivious to the tag, Sara sets up Daizee for a powerbomb while MsChif goes to the top rope. Daizee counters with a hurricanrana, simultaneously avoiding MsChif Green Mist. Very nice spot, ladies.

Neveah uses the confusion to her advantage, rolling Sara Del Rel up for the near fall. Del Rey gets control of the match with a headbutt into one of the most impressive finishers in women’s wrestling today: The Royal Butterfly.

All four women involved in this match put on a great show, as always. I do, however, have one complaint. I feel like I’ve seen this match before. In fact, I did. A few weeks back we saw the same match, with Sassy Stephie taking MsChif’s place. I can’t help but feel like ROH is overusing these four women. There are plenty of girls on the SHIMMER roster that could put on awesome matches. Why not put some of them in ROH? Rumor is that a certain ‘Hardcore Knockout’ will be making her debut in Ring of Honor soon, so maybe we’ll have a new matchup on HDNet soon.

Another thing that could be injected into ROH’s women’s division is some storyline development. I realise that these girls have storylines in SHIMMER, but I don’t think a little storytelling would go amiss.

DAIZEE HAZE VS. SARA DEL RAY

MSCHIF VS. NEVEAH

When I initially heard about this match, I was positive it would be a total squash match for the champ. After all, Neveah is a relative newcomer to SHIMMER and ROH, and is used to competing in a tag team. Much to my delight, Neveah put on a great showing in this match. I was sure she’d fall flat without  Ashley Lane aka Madison Rayne, but thankfully I was wrong.

Neveah starts off the match, keeping MsChif grounded with a series of headlock takeovers and forearms. A well-placed backfist a la Awesome Kong puts the Champion in control and she lets Nevaeh have it with a sick looking double stomp to the back.

Neveah tries to get back in the game, but is taken out by a stiff clothesline. Here’s where things get a bit sketchy. MsChif executes a awkward looking standing submission into a (botchy) modified gourdbuster. The submission reminded me of Melina vs Beth at the Royal Rumble or MsChif vs Melissa on SHIMMER Vol.1, just not as good. Nice try, though.

In a attempt to dust Neveah off, MsChif eats mat on a beautiful moonsault. Neveah takes advantage, executing an impressive flurry of attacks and awesome german suplex.

Fast forward to Jimmy distracting the referee, which allows MsChif to hit Neveah with the green mist followed by The Desecrator for the win.

Steven’s Thoughts:

Once again, the SHIMMER girls impress on Ring of Honor. Like I said above, I expected a squash match to put over the Champion, but was proven wrong. Neveah managed to prove herself as a singles competitor, and I see big things for her in the future. I would even put her ahead of her former tag partner, Madison Rayne, in terms of skills. I wouldnt be shocked to see her competing in TNA sometime in the near future.

MsChif was impressive as usual, save for the slightly botched finisher at the end. My only gripe would be MsChif’s association with Jimmy Jacobs. I don’t care for the way she’s used him as a crutch to win her last two matches. MsChif is more than capable of handling herself; having Jacobs there to cheat and distract just takes away from her as a Champion. Besides that, he’s just really weird and creepy.
