Five matches from Clash/Night of Champions that are a must-see

WWE’s next pay-per-view is Sunday and with the Clash of Champions theme, all titles are on the line. All three women’s titles are officially set for the card.

We have the much anticipated RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defending her title against the recently returning Sasha Banks. The SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley will attempt to be the face of the blue brand by retaining her title against the nine-time champion Charlotte Flair. Lastly, we have the Women’s Tag Team Championship match that just became official this past weekend. Fire & Desire will try to win their first gold as they challenge current champs Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

Although it is said that Clash of Champions isn’t a direct continuation of the Night of Champions event, it follows the same criteria. All titles are generally defended during these events. Night of Champions ran from 2007 through 2015. This year’s Clash of Champions is the third since its creation as it was not part of the pay-per-view schedule in 2018.

In 2009 this was the only year (from either name of this event) that two titles were defended, that is up until this year. The Women’s Championship and the Diva’s Championship were both defended that year.

To get into the spirit of this event, let’s go over five must-see matches that took place. These are in no particular order.
