Five potential WWE women’s tag teams

Kairi Sane and Io Shirai

This tag team just seems like a no-brainer. The two are already good friends. They’ve worked with each other as opponents and teammates in both tag and singles matches at Stardom. So, more than likely they will have great chemistry both in-ring and in promos.

This is also the chance to do something new with them that hasn’t been done at another promotion. Of course, a match between them would probably be amazing, but teaming up to compete for the tag titles would be a career first for them. Other than their time as Threedom, where they held the Artist of Stardom Championship as a three-woman team with Mayu Iwatani, the two haven’t won a traditional tag title.

Both have won multiple tag and singles titles, so the pedigree is there for them to be a dominant team. Their move sets complement each other too. Picture Kairi climbing the top rope to deliver the Insane Elbow drop and Io tagged herself in before she jumped, following it up with the Asai Moonsault. That tag team finisher is money.

There’s so much potential in this pairing. Having a former NXT Women’s Champion and undoubtedly future champion team up on the main roster seems like a recipe for success.
