One of AEW’s most heavily pushed stars, Kris Statlander, announced last month that she indeed suffered an injury to her knee and it would require surgery. The surgery took place yesterday. It was a tear to her ACL and it happened during a tag team match on Dynamite where she was paired with Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose & Penelope Ford. She will be out for some time.
She posted a photo of her in a hospital bed giving the thumbs up that everything went well.
Earlier this year, Statlander received the biggest match of her AEW career as she faced the then-champion Nyla Rose for the AEW Women’s World Title. She would not be able to come out with a win. When she returns, she most likely will have the title in her sights yet again.
