Luna Vachon to be inducted into Hall of Fame Legacy Wing

According to WrestleVotes’ Twitter account, Luna Vachon will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a Legacy Award recipient on Saturday night.

Vachon’s in-ring career spanned across three different decades, from her start in Florida Championship Wrestling in 1985 to her retirement in 2007.

Vachon is best-known for her work in WWE, both as a competitor and as the valet to stars like Goldust and Gangrel.

Her noteworthy opponents include Alundra Blayze, with whom Vachon had a history dating back to their time together in FCW. While putting up fierce competition, Vachon was never able to wrest the WWF Women’s Championship away from Blayze.

Although, she did hand-pick Bull Nakano as an opponent for Blayze, who would eventually defeat the champion. Vachon also feuded with the likes of Sherry Martel and Sable, who Luna would compete in a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania XIV involving Goldust and Marc Mero.

She’s took part in the first instance of intergender wrestling in the WWE on an episode of Monday Night RAW in 1998. She was also the first female wrestler to be featured in a WWF video game with the release of 1994’s WWF RAW.

Is Luna a worthy Hall of Fame honoree? Should she have gone as a normal induction, as opposed to the Legacy Wing? Sound off in the comments below.
