Maria Kanellis-Bennett announces ROH Women’s Tournament coming this summer

Ring of Honor is finally able to announce that they will have a women’s tournament this summer to crown a new champion.

As a part of restructuring its women’s division, the company attempted to have a tournament last year along with introducing a new title. This title will replace the Women of Honor Title that lasted from 2017 to 2020. Due to the pandemic, that idea was put on hold.

Now, at the recent 19th Anniversary show, Kanellis-Bennett came out to make the announcement saying it will take place this summer. She added that it will be opened to competitors from all over. As she was providing the details, Angelina Love and Mandy Leon of The Allure made their way to the ring. Love wasn’t too happy that she has to participate in a tournament to become champion and was confused about how Kanellis-Bennett garnered this authority.

From this, Maria provided an opportunity for Love to get a bye in the first round of the tournament. If she defeats backstage interviewer Quinn McKay in a match then she will win this advantage.

With the women’s roster of ROH being rather small, it will be exciting to see who will take part of the tournament.

Leave your thoughts below of who you would like to see in this tournament and become the inaugural ROH Women’s World Champion.
