Who’s up for a little Stratusfaction? Legendary former WWE Diva, Trish Stratus has filmed an acceptance speech for Diva Dirt and all of our readers after we chose to honor her last year with the first ever Diva Dirt Legacy Award.
Watch it below:
A big thanks to Trish and her team (Brian & Sarah especially!) for working with us to make this happen. We are pretty Stratusfied too!
Following her final match with Alissa Flash this past Saturday in San Francisco, former TNA Knockouts Champion, Shantelle ‘Taylor Wilde‘ Taylor’s took to the mic to bid farewell to the fans and to wrestling one last time.
Check out our exclusive footage of Shantelle’s farewell below!
On behalf of Diva Dirt, ChickFight and Pro Wrestling Revolution we’d like to thank Shantelle for taking part in her final match for us. Good luck for the future!
The full-length match will be available on ClickWrestle within the next 24 hours.
NXT three winner, Kaitlyn summoned her inner bad girl over the weekend by teaming up with one half of Lay-Cool, Layla against the team of Beth Phoenix and Natalya.
Results from the two shows:
Saturday: 2. “The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix and Natalya Neidhart defeated Layla El and Kaitlyn. Although not glaringly awful, this match went too long. The crowd was big into the faces, though, and Beth’s face-in-peril act for most of the match really got the crowd going. Finish saw a double pin with Beth hitting a Glam Slam on Kaitlyn and Nattie (legal woman) hitting a Michinokou Driver on Layla for the win. (Source)
Sunday: 2. Natalya and Beth Phoenix beat Layla and Kaitlyn. They won via body slam and Glam Slam for a double pin. The faces got a good reaction and the match was long. (Source)
Thoughts: As we always say with these types of things, house show results don’t necessarily mean a heel turn. Still, I’d be curious to see how Kaitlyn works as a heel. YouTube footage, anyone?
Diva Dirt has the exclusive scoop on the next match to be announced for Pro Wrestling SUN’s debut show on March 20th in Jackson, New Jersey.
It will be a three-way dance featuring ‘Queen of Wrestling’ Sara Del Rey (representing Ring of Honor), ‘The Rate Tank’ Kellie Skater (representing PWWA in Australia) and WSU World Champion, Mercedes Martinez (representing WSU).
Former WWE Diva, Maria Kanellis has popped up in the first episode of ‘Swallow’ a new web series on the fantastic site, Funny or Die. Check it out below:
Not content with rubbing shoulders with a Jonas (Jonai?), the Bella Twins and Kelly Kelly hit the red carpet once more last night for Mark Cuban and HDNet’s Super Bowl party in Dallas, Texas last night.
The event was also attended by ‘The Situation’ from MTV’s you-know-what. But here’s what really makes us green with envy: music heavyweight Usher performed at the event.
The Divas certainly looked like they belong in HD, no?
Following a highly publicized retirement match, former TNA Knockouts Champion, Shantelle Taylor (Taylor Wilde) has hung up her boots and said goodbye to the wrestling world.
Following in the footsteps of celebs such as Britney Spears and Sarah Jessica Parker, former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis has announced that she’ll be releasing her own line of perfumes titled ‘Signature’.
On Thursday, Kanellis tweeted: “Tomorrow I am doing a photo shoot for my new Signature line for a product available in store all across the country/world!”
Last night, she posted the above sneak peek from the shoot and revealed that ‘Signature’ is the name of her perfume line.
I believe this makes Maria the first wrestling personality to cross over into the world of celebrity fragrances.
What do you think MK’s perfume will smell like? And more importantly, will you be buying?
On a red carpet with big, burly football players and even a Jonas brother, it was our WWE Divas that added some sexy and fierce glamour to last night’s ESPN Magazine party.
Brie and Nikki Bella, along with Kelly Kelly, were on hand for the ‘NEXT’ party in Fort Worth, Texas last night ahead of Sunday’s Superbowl.
Let’s just say, Kelly Kelly is giving us serious dress envy. In the words of Lay-Cool: flawless. It’s been a good week to be K2!
For the first time in the history of my SmackDown Redux, I’m going into the A-List show absolutely cold turkey, unsure of what exactly is going to happen. On Tuesday night I took a serious vow to remain spoiler free this week and to not watch the show until it airs in the U.S. on SyFy. I’m pleased to report that I stuck to my vow and as I write this, the show is getting closer to starting. All I know is that the main event features the team of Kelly Kelly and the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge, taking on the team of Michelle McCool, Layla, and Dolph Ziggler. As cool as mixed tag matches are, this one gets even better because on Raw, VickieGuerrero announced that this match would be for Edge’s championship. Call it his punishment for using the banned spear at the Royal Rumble. I call it freaking epic because this is going to be the best Redux in the history of Reduxes.
I really should not be this excited for a taped wrestling show.
And so the show begins. We kick things off with Booker T in the ring announcing that he is the newest addition to the SmackDown broadcast team. This upsets me because I am a Matt Striker fan. I’ll miss you blue eyes. Anyway, Booker T does his spinaroonie thing in the ring and as that concludes, Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler make their way to the ring with extreme, massive heat. Vickie is screaming excuse me and they get in the ring with Dolph helping his girlfriend get in like a true gentleman! Vickie says that tonight will be a SmackDown we will never forget. She has set up qualifying matches for the SmackDown elimination chamber and then she begins to talk about tonight’s main event. She calls Dolph the uncrowned world champion and she brings up Kelly. She calls her a tramp and orders her to come to the ring.
As witnessed tonight on SmackDown, Kelly Kelly was ‘fired’ by Vickie Guerrero after helping Edge retain his World Heavyweight Championship in a 3-on-2 handicap match.
Kelly speared Layla to win the match which effectively meant that Edge retains his belt.
Having already angered the assistant GM by her actions at the Royal Rumble, Guerrero fired Kelly before proceeding to berate her (“No one gives a damn about you!”) as K2 sobbed all the way up the ramp to the back.
Though it should really go without saying, obviously the angle was storylined and Kelly has not been released by the company.
What do you think is next for K2? Will she be reinstated to SmackDown and feud with Vickie? Move to Raw? Sound off in the comments!
It’s not every week that the Divas feature in the main event of SmackDown. And it’s not every century that the Divas are involved in a World Heavyweight Championship match.
So tonight, we are hosting a SmackDown Response so you can discuss the show as it happens!
It looks like Alison Skipper aka Chelsea in TNA is gone from the company.
She has been removed from TNA’s online roster and her photo gallery has also been removed.
Skipper debuted in January 2010 as a valvet for Desmond Wolfe, who has been absent from TNA television for several months due to undisclosed medical issues.
Chelsea joins the ranks of Hamada and Taylor Wilde as recent departures from the roster.
Oh skittles! Here we go again! It is that time again. That time where you sit down, curl up with a nice warm blanket and join me for yet another lovely entry into the TNA iMPACT Write-Up vault. Last week, we got a show full of Knockouts, bouncing all over the place. We saw a boiling rivalry finally come to a head between Winterand Velvet Sky, not to mention a certain champion getting a taste of her own medicine, self delivered. We also saw another few pages written in the saga that is The Jarretts versus Kurt Angle. Deep breath!
This week, we are subject to a ridiculous video ensemble from the power couple of TNA, which I don’t recommend watching before eating. We also have the saving grace of a true Knockouts match between two polar opposites when it comes to the squared circle. So I tell you what, take a seat in the back, settle with your popcorn and get ready for a cinematic feature. Okay. So it isn’t the Masterpiece Theatre but dammit, it’s TNA! It’s Diva Dirt! It’s the Write-Up! Let’s do this!
Our first glimpse is a video package with Karen Jarrett and her husband, Jeff. They are allowing the TNA audience into their home, cheesy MTV Cribs style. They talk about how they met, Karen being just a random employee but then Cupid stuck his arrow right in Jeff’s heart. We weren’t lucky enough for it to do any actual damage but we can hope, right? Karen says that she was married before for twelve years, but she was alone. Now she isn’t alone and she’s got Daddy Jeff to thank for that. Granted, their home in Hendersonville, Tennessee is very nice but is it really worth exploiting your children over? Karen walks around the house, dressed in all black, looking like a gothic character from an Austin Powers movie. Yeah. I said it.
Long story short, the kids come in, dressed like they’re ready for a Christmas photoshoot. Karen is showing off the pictures in Jeff’s office when the kids point out their favorite picture. It is one of everyone in TNA, with Jeff Jarrett standing next to TNA President, Dixie Carter. The girls call her “Aunt Dixie” and their father is quick to correct him. All the kids apologize, calling him Daddy Jeff which makes me sick. Then picking on Kurt Angle’s little boy, with his mother urging him on. Someone call child services. Seriously.
Just one week after being unceremoniously dropped from the Divas Championship title picture, Melina is relegated to WWE Superstars in order to work her way back up the ladder. Props to WWE, however, as we were given a fresh new match as Melina faces off against Tamina. Despite being on the roster for nearly a year now, this is our first opportunity to see Tamina in a full-length singles match. How will she fare?
Watch below:
The former Divas Champ is out first sporting her new attitude, followed by Santino’s sweetheart, Tamina now with her own entrance music and even new ring gear!
The heel Melina is feeling playful, sliding in and out of the ring, attempting to play games with the second generation Diva. Melina backs into the corner and Tamina runs after her but the referee tries to keep them apart. Tamina grabs Melina’s leg, slamming her against the mat and then hitting a slingshot. While usually, this would result in the recipient hitting their head against the top turnbuckle, Melina just kind of stumbles on the floor for what seems like an eternal second. Awkward.
ChickFight is finally upon us! After months in the making, Diva Dirt and ChickFight present our first co-promoted match tomorrow night live in San Francisco for Pro Wrestling Revolution.
It will be former TNA Knockouts, Taylor Wilde and Alissa Flash doing battle in the former’s retirement match. Plus, Diva Dirt’s very own David will be serving as ring announcer.
We are also running a competition on Twitter. Make your predictions for the winner (either Alissa Flash or Taylor Wilde) using the hash tag #chickfight205. We will select one tweeter out of the group who successfully predicts the outcome to win a free download of the match when it’s available on ClickWrestle.
Also, stay tuned late Saturday and all day Sunday for exclusive results, news, pictures and of course, videos!
Former WWE Women’s Champion, Beth Phoenix was asked about Awesome Kong signing with the company in an interview with SLAM! Sports this week. By commenting, it seems the Glamazon is the first WWE Diva to publicly acknowledge Kong’s signing, as she speaks on the possibility of her and Kong working a match together.
Last month, TMZ revealed that there was some talk between TNA and former Jersey Shore star, Angelina Pivarnick, about coming in to do a full-length pay per view match. Nothing really happened after that. Until now.
The website As the World Turns Left got in touch with Angelina’s agent, Michael Schweiger, who confirmed that Angelina is interested in joining TNA.
The Internet has been abuzz today over former WWE and TNA star, Shelly Martinez‘s announcement that she was ‘breaking up’ with wrestling. Wondering what exactly that meant and why she wanted to break up with it, we gave Shelly a call to find out more.
In this interview, Shelly discusses why she’s breaking up with wrestling, why she’s calling it a ‘break up’, what led to her making this decision and more. Shelly discusses politics in wrestling and the treatment of women in the industry, and offers up her advice to girls trying to make it in the business. We also discuss her array of other projects including the Sprinkles superhero web series, the Megan & Miley Show web series, Fun Time Radio and more.
