It's okay to look -- SmackDown has returned to form! Hurrah! After an iffy week with not much going on last week, this week's show was infinitely better with the blonde babyfaces proving the Divas moniker to be true -- they were smart, they were sexy and oh yes, they were powerful! You'd expect little else from the Glamazon Beth Phoenix... but Tiffany? Tiffany?! I was not expecting anything out of the former ECW GM upon reading the spoilers for this week but Tiffany girl, consider my eyes opened. Tiff Tiff shocked the hell out of me with her rather ...
As professional wrestling's Future Legend, Melissa Anderson has wowed crowds in ChickFight, SHIMMER, NCW Femme Fatales and in other promotions worldwide. In TNA, we came to know and love her as the mysterious Raisha Saeed before catching another side of her as Alissa Flash. As Saeed, Melissa managed Awesome Kong to two Knockouts Title reigns and in just a few short months as Flash, Melissa gave us great matches with the likes of Sarita and Hamada before she disappeared from television in late 2009. When we broke the news of Alissa's TNA departure in January, fans were incredibly upset to see ...
After last week's moving tribute to womankind, I was bracing myself for the worst with this week's show. Surprisingly, the WWE decided to put on a straight wrestling match rather than mold the Divas action to guest GM Criss Angel's gimmick, and for that I'm grateful. But was the match anything to write home about? Let's see: Eve Torres, Gail Kim and Kelly Kelly make their way to the ring for a 6-Diva Tag Team match. I guess it's been a while since we've seen one of those, though I haven't really missed them.. Already in the ring are Maryse, Alicia ...
Tonight was a historic night for wrestling as round two of the Monday Night Wars kicked off and in grand fashion for both the Divas and Knockouts in my opinion. Both shows featured tag team action but on Impact we got a treat. With Awesome Kong basically done in TNA, the question has remained: "What's going to happen with the Knockouts Tag Team Championships?" We got our answer and in spectacular fashion. Missing in action Knockouts Taylor Wilde and Sarita returned to television to take on The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky) and the team of Angelina Love ...
She made her debut as the lip-synching popstar, Kandi Kisses on the first ever episode of Wrestlicious TakeDown this past week and she's here to tell us all about it, we catch up with the gorgeous Lizzy Valentine. We get Lizzy's reaction to the first episode, find out about her character and get her thoughts on some of the negative reaction the show has gotten. We also learn discuss Lizzy's time in TNA in 2003 as well as her one-night only return last December, plus what was it like working with WWE's Evan Bourne in Wrestling Society X? Read on ...

As seen last night on WWE Superstars, Rosa Mendes is now once again part of the Raw roster along with Zack Ryder.
I mentioned in the Diva Draft: Extreme Edition that it wouldn’t really matter which brand they were on because they’d end up staples of Superstars and look what we have here. I’d have preferred them on SmackDown though, where they wouldn’t look like a poor man’s Miz & Maryse.

As per request by some of our readers, here is a official list of characters that you can expect to see in the first season of Wrestlicious.

Diva Dirt is excited to be the first to reveal that former TNA Knockout, Sojo Bolt aka Josie has signed with Wrestlicious. Josie, who has been working for OVW in recent months since her TNA departure, will make her Wrestlicious debut in a future episode of TakeDown.
Read the press release below:
LOS ANGELES, February 26, 2010—Josie Bynum, a former TNA Knockout who performed as Sojourner Bolt, has signed with Wrestlicious LLC and will make her in-ring debut on an upcoming Season One episode of Wrestlicious TakeDown.
Bynum was rated in the top 25 of the PWI “Female 50” for 2009. This brings the total number of Wrestlicious TakeDown performers in that ranking to 18, or more than one third.
“It’s true! Josie is coming to Wrestlicious,” said Bynum. “I am excited to help bring great women’s wrestling into the forefront of sports entertainment.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Josie to TakeDown,” said Wrestlicious Senior Producer Johnny Cafarella. “She is a terrific wrestler, has an awesome work ethic and knows the ropes of the wrestling business. She’ll be a great fit here.”
TakeDown premieres Monday, March 1 at 11 PM EST in the US on MavTV (http://www.mavtv.com) (Dish Network channel 361) and Bite TV (http://www.bite.ca) in Canada. America One Network (http://americaone.com) will air the TakeDown series on Saturdays at 11:30 PM EST beginning March 6.
In addition, the new series is syndicated to network affiliate and broadcast stations in selected markets. It also will be archived on Demand at www.bite.ca/wrestling and available online starting the first week of March.
Earlier this week Wrestlicious Founder Jay Vargas was asked what viewers can expect in the premiere episode of TakeDown:
“The wrestling will be stronger than most people think it will. It will be very, very character driven. In fact 2/3 of the show will be sketches and other character development stuff with about 1/3 being in ring wrestling. Even the commentary will be as much about describing the characters as describing the action,” Vargas told Melanie Rob of Diva Dirt. “Remember, TakeDown is an ACTION/COMEDY show, the Man Show meets Hee-Haw meets female wrestling. This is the premise it was sold as, an action/comedy with wrestling as the vehicle. And that’s how we’re delivering it.”
We will be speaking to Josie in the next few days for an exclusive interview. If you have any questions for her, please leave them in the comments.
Last week, we announced our first ever So You Think You Can Slam contest asking you to get creative with the promise of great prizes. We have also enlisted four women’s wrestling stars: Alissa Flash, Awesome Kong, Krissy Vaine and Missy Hyatt to judge the competition.
Please keep your submissions coming and check out full details at the link below. We have decided to extend the deadline till March 8th.
Also, we’ve already heard from Krissy Vaine and Alissa Flash and now here’s a few words from the First Lady of Wrestling, Missy Hyatt!
Cryme Tyme star Shad Gaspard had an abundance of compliments for our Divas, specifically Eve Torres and Lilian Garcia in a new interview with SLAM! Sports. He says:
“The hottest Diva right now in my opinion is Eve Torres. I also think Beth Phoenix is a gorgeous women, an Amazon — she is the perfect combination of sleek smooth muscles and intelligence. She’s not a prissy girl. She is all woman.”
Shad says he has a lot of love for one Diva in particular — former Raw ring announcer Lilian Garcia who recently left the company to start the next chapter of her life.
“Lilian has always been a good friend to me ever since I first came to WWE,” said Shad. “She always gave me great advice and would notice things I didn’t notice myself.”
“The first time she watched me walking out she came up to me afterward and said I looked like a little kid, so she told me to stand tall, puff my chest out, and I thought that was really nice of her.”
“She didn’t have to say anything to me at all. Lilian is a great person, a classy lady and I wish her the best of luck in her future.”
Nice to see one of the guys speak so highly of the Divas. Eve is definitely gorgeous, her eyes in particular are a huge selling point. Though perhaps I’m biased, but I think Layla is the perfect combination of sex appeal and beauty. She’s smokin’ hot!
Do you agree with Shad? Is Eve the hottest Diva in WWE right now?
Bubba the Love Sponge, the man at the center of a lawsuit filed by former TNA Knockouts Champion Awesome Kong has released a statement via his official website refuting that he made any threatening phone calls to Kong. Read the statement below:
This morning I was made aware of allegations made in a petition for full bill of discovery by Ms. Kia Stevens, a professional wrestler with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. The allegations in this petition are one hundred percent false. To be clear; everything contained in this petition is not true. Ms. Stevens attributing outrageous racist statements and physical threats to me is disgusting.”
“We can prove without any doubt the allegations made in this petition are false. First Ms. Stevens claims that she was called on the air, at 5:08 AM on February 10th, we are not even on the air until 6 AM Eastern time. We have phone records and eye witnesses that account for my every movement that day from 4:50 AM forward. No call was made to Ms. Stevens at all.”
“We will be pursuing all legal remedies available to us in the State of Florida to fight these deliberately malicious allegations.
Well, it was always going to come to one person versus the other. Someone is obviously lying and no one is going to come clean — that will be for a court to decide. But in this case, one person has a shady reputation compared to the other and I think we all know who that is.

TNA Knockout, Awesome Kong has filed a lawsuit against Bubba the Love Sponge and cell carrier AT&T after receiving a threatening phone call from an unidentified number. Courthouse News Service reports:
Stevens claims Clem called her at her Tampa home from a blocked number at 5 a.m. on Feb. 10. She says the caller said, “‘This is Bubba the Love Sponge here at (and at this point the caller named a radio station’ and then alluded to the fact that the call was being broadcast on the radio. “The caller then started talking in a stream, threatening to come to the petitioner’s house and ’sucker punch’ her until she stopped breathing and then said, ‘You’ll be dead like all those other niggers in Haiti you fat black bitch … Fuck Haiti!”
Stevens claims that when she did not respond, “the male who had identified himself as ‘Bubba the Love Sponge’ stated ‘What d’ya think about that, Monkey Kong?’ … ‘What? Those big fat Jimmy Walker lips ain’t talking shit now, huh?’”
Kong is also going after AT&T after they refused to provide her the number when requested. To read the full details click here.
If true, it’s such a shame that after the whole unfortunate incident was dead and buried, Bubba tries to go after her again some weeks later. The act of a coward is making a threatening phone call with a witheld number. It’s all well and good to hide behind a phone, but I doubt he’d ever have the balls to say that to Kong in person.
His disgusting comments above are just proof of what a lowlife he is and I hope Kong gets justice for not only her but millions of African-Americans who will no doubt be offended by these heinous comments. It’s mind blowing to think racism still exists in 2010.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that former Women’s Champion, Melina is due back in WWE in ‘late spring’ after tearing her ACL last December.
Melina, then-Divas Champion, was hurt at a house show just days after Christmas.
A successor to her title run was only crowned this week.
