... Maryse! In a flip-flop of last year's top two, the two time Divas Champion has replaced Melina at the apex of this year's 50 Sexiest Divas countdown, thwarting the current Divas Champion's chances of a three-peat. Maryse was last year's #2, narrowly coming behind Melina and this year, narrowly beating Melina. In 2008, she ranked at #15 on the countdown. This year's chart saw more votes than ever. 15,000 votes were cast over the course of the competition. Also making the top 10 is Mickie James, holding onto her #3 spot from last year, despite being released earlier this year. Mickie's charting ...
After weeks and weeks of pointless speculation, outlandish theories, and minor spoilers from other Knockouts, Tara finally showed her actual face on TNA television again. Absolute SHOCK reigned supreme in the Impact Zone and I'm sure I wasn't the only person scratching my head at the dramatic turn of events! The announcers even seemed amazed. I mean hello! Tara is back and she's helping the woman who ended her career no less! It's mind boggling. It's truly baffling. It's more confusing that a statistical lecture in an 8am psychology class. It's TNA! And in TNA, things don't have to make ...

Independent wrestler, Brittney Savage of WSU fame made her debut tonight for Lucha Libre USA.
Savage is the reigning WSU Spirit Champion, defeating Alicia in an ‘Empty Arena Match’ that aired for free online earlier this week.
She also appeared on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown last year in the ‘Beth Phoenix Squash Tour’, competing as Brittany Carter.
Team 3D Academy student, Betsy Ruth, known as Rosie Lottalove in TNA has confirmed her departure from the company. On her Twitter page earlier today, she wrote:
Ok guys. TNA days are done for now. Not a bad thing, so don’t speculate. Thank you 2 the guys and girls, & agents. It was a blast! XOXO
Rosie made only one appearance on Impact in the US in a match against Roxxi.
On last week’s Impact, the entire world witnessed Angelina Love win yet another TNA Knockouts Championship. The response to her historic victory was pretty underwhelming and rightfully so. Madison Rayne had been doing a phenomenal job as champion and why the title was taken from her we’ll never know. Seeing Angelina as champion brings nothing to the division that wasn’t there before but that’s just the state of wrestling these days. What’s done is done and there’s no use in questioning it anymore. It’s a brand new week and on this week’s Impact, we were treated to a Knockouts Championship rematch featuring Angelina and Madison.
Before the match go underway, we were treated to backstage promo featuring Angelina and Christy Hemme. Christy told all of us that tonight Madison was evoking her rematch clause and that there was a good chance that she wouldn’t be alone. Angelina said that with Madison it was never a fair fight because she was scared. Angelina reminded us of the last time she was Knockouts Champion. She complained that she had to literally give the belt back to Madison because the former title holder threw a little hissy fit. Angelina went on to say that Madison would only get the title back if she pried it from the champ’s cold, dead hands. Then she teased that she would have her own back-up with her tonight.
The challenger, the aforementioned Madison was the first Knockout to make her way to the ring tonight. She didn’t enter in the usual, Beautiful People fashion either. She rode out to the ring on the back of a motorcycle driven by Tara Mystery Woman. Madison was in a foul mood upon entering the ring and she started screaming at everyone in site. She jawed with a few fans and then turned her PMS rage to Earl Hebner. Eventually, Angelina’s music began to play and the Knockouts Champion made her way to the ring. She paused at the end of the entrance ramp and waited for the music of her back-up to start playing. A few seconds later, the Beautiful People theme started to play again and a delicious looking Velvet Sky made her way out. Madison flipped out upon seeing Velvet and she demanded that Mystery Woman get out of the ring and go take care of business. Mystery Woman made a beeline for Angelina, and Madison and Velvet headed for one another. More after the cut »
New Divas Champion, Melina was part of the SmackDown vs Raw 2011 ‘Community Event’ earlier this week in LA and was interviewed on the red carpet by GamerLive.tv. Find out what she had to say below:
Really cute interview. I guess we can pretty much deduce from this interview that Melina will join Eve Torres and Michelle McCool in the game. That’s three so far.

All traces of little seen TNA Knockout, Rosie Lottalove — real name Mary-Kate Duignan — have been erased from the official TNA website.
Duignan, who competes as Betsy Ruth on the independents, was signed to a contract in May but made only one appearance on TNA Impact against Roxxi. A second appearance, a tag team match, never aired on US television but did air internationally.
Her profile has been deleted from the roster page at TNAwrestling.com, and her photo gallery has been deleted from the Knockouts media gallery page.
Duignan was recruited out of the Team 3D Academy and was under a two year contract.
According the latest issue of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AAA Women’s Champion Sexy Star was panned by WWE officials after taking part in a tryout at FCW a couple of weeks ago.
Dave Meltzer reports:
Sexy Star from AAA was at the FCW tryouts two weeks back in Tampa. At the tryouts, she did a match against New York Knockout Nikki (Toni the Top in Wrestllicious – those who have seen her have said she’s a great heel but absolutely doesn’t have the look WWE wants). She Nay Nay also tried out. The WWE reaction was that of the 63 people who tried out, paying $1,000 to be seen, that about 50 of them had no business being there. We heard they were impressed with the fundamental skills of the guys Lance Storm trained, one of whom was signed to a contract. As for Sexy Star, they thought her work was terrible, her English was terrible and they also thought she was overweight and wasn’t pretty enough without the mask. John Laurinaitis told the officials at FCW that when it comes to hiring women, the standard is if they aren’t pretty enough to be in Playboy, then the company wouldn’t want them.
I guess that gives you an insight into WWE’s hiring process. People are always quick to say, ‘WWE should sign so-and-so’, yet in actuality, it seems they are far more stringent than just looking for wrestling talent. WWE seems happy with their current ‘Diva hiring model’ — hiring pretty models and training them, with the odd independent wrestler being signed once in a blue moon. As optimistic as some are in wanting to see the likes of Melissa, Kong & Del Rey in WWE, I’m guessing they are content with the pretty faces with limited ability.

Welcome to the first “Hitting the Ropes” Glam Slam mailbag! I enjoy writing my normal column but I thought it would be exciting to mix things up a little bit. I’m not exactly sure where I want to go with this, but at the very least it is a chance to interact with you, the readers, and to discuss some new topics and issues. Of course we’ll still talk about women’s wrestling but I thought I would open up Pandora’s Box and see what else is on your collective minds. Maybe along the way we’ll learn something about each other and…God forbid…even have a little fun. (I know, I know, I sound like such a mark.) So, I hope you enjoy the Glam Slam mailbag, a mixture of serious, humorous, and thoughtful responses to your questions and comments. Plus a few wrinkles thrown in for good measure…
Some Glam Slam ground rules: No topic is off limits. You want to comment on movies, TV, music, sports, politics, etc, go ahead and drop me a note. If there something specific you want to ask me about the Divas, Knockouts, etc., please don’t be shy. I will try to include all of your comments and questions unless they are rude or vulgar. Can’t have that. Also, if I don’t have an interesting response or I just don’t know what the hell you are talking about, I will either 1) reach out for help from my fellow Diva Dirt writers or 2) make up an answer. I hope nobody takes this too seriously. I have already received a bunch of good questions and I appreciate that. Fortunately I won’t have to make up questions to fill out this column.
So let’s get started!
