Penelope Ford attends WWE tryout

On Dec. 13, WWE held tryouts in Orlando at the Performance Center and breakout indie star, Penelope Ford was in attendance.

Ford was named and featured heavily in a number of photos posted on WWE.com and WWEPC social media. The images showed Ford training and working out alongside a number of other indie wrestlers, an Olympic sprinter, and former UFC fighter, Eric Spicely.

The WWE host regular tryouts all around the world. Most recently the WWE visited Chile and announced they would hold tryouts in India in 2019 as they look to enroll international talent to increase their global expansion.

Ford has been a fixture on the independent scene, for a few years now for most notably in hardcore and inter-gender matches for promotions such as CZW, Queens of Combat and GCW. Her star rose after her stand out performance at All In, in which she injected a boost of excitement and awe as she flew about the ring taking Adam Page out of the game with a flying crossbody block from the top rope to the outside.

Ford is extremely athletic, performing incredible flips and feats in and outside of the ring. She is also incredibly tough, trained by Rory and Drew Gulak at the CZW Dojo and is no stranger to tables and barbed-wire, which is where she gets her nickname “The Bad Girl’. With all this talent, her ability and her look, it seems only right that she would be on the WWE’s radar.

Penelope Ford was featured in our Superstar women to watch for in 2019 article and she seems to be proving us right. Could this be a sign of things to come? We certainly hope so.
