Possible Women’s Rumble Shockers

5. THE NXT CALL-UP

If there was a ‘safe surprise’ that we could put our money on, then it would be the chances of NXT talent making their mark on one of the biggest PPVs of the year. Tye Dillinger, Bo Dallas and Rusev were all NXT talents that made their main roster debut in the Rumble so it would only make sense for some of the women to follow suite!

With the recent call-ups of Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan, it’s hard to imagine if any NXT debuts would be more than a one-off appearance after the Rumble. Although, we know that a lot of the talent is ready and raring to go:

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are two immediate names that people feel should have been brought up to the roster, ahead of some of the aforementioned women. Their tweets following the announcement of the Rumble don’t seem to indicate that they will be involved, but as one of the biggest acts in NXT, their tag combination could prove lethal in a Rumble setting and would definitely make for an Iconic debut.

Seemingly slipping under the radar, but possibly standing a good chance of being a surprise entrant would also be Aliyah. She’s been training away in NXT alongside the Riott Squad and Absolution members who debuted last month. We know that Triple H likes giving his talent a chance, so we can’t rule out the ‘Cat’s Meow’ from getting involved!

While the Rumble is meant to set the ‘Road to WrestleMania’, for many of the other men (now women) it’s a chance to settle scores… or start new ones. Since the Mae Young Classic, Kairi Sane has slipped a little down the food chain, but her gutsy spirit is perfect for the Rumble. In addition, we also know that her rival Shayna Baszler is fresh on the NXT scene are ready to make her mark… and she’s still not happy about being the MYC ‘Runner Up’. Add this to the rumours of her fellow MMA Horsewoman Ronda Rousey joining the match and Baszler may stand a good chance of appearing. Both Sane and Baszler have hinted an interest in taking part in the Rumble, so what a way it would be to pick business up right where it left off…

Finally, just like Paige and Sasha Banks before her, our NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon can make her main roster debut while still being the Champion. What a way to show that the NXT division means business, by having the Champion hang in there with the main roster talent. Hey Asuka, I also think Ember has some unfinished business with you – could Ember end Asuka’s streak in the Rumble?
