Report on possible surprises for the Knockouts at IMPACT’s Slammiversary

If you are a fan of the Knockouts then you are anxiously awaiting IMPACT’s next big pay-per-view on July 17.

At Slammiversary we could see a few surprises when it comes to new names popping up in the Knockouts division. IMPACT has been making it a point to make WWE’s losses their gains as this has become a yearly moment teasing recently released WWE talent to show up at this event. The big difference between last year and this year is that there are more options for women that could appear and make a new name for themselves.

This event marks the end of the 90-day noncompete clause to the women who were originally released this year by WWE after WrestleMania in April. This includes Chelsea Green, Mickie James, and The IIconics (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay).

In a report by Fightful Select, they are able to confirm that IMPACT sources say that at least two surprises are planned for the upcoming event that involves outside names making their way into the company. This includes one that is already under contract elsewhere and one that is a recent WWE release. When it comes to these two surprises it hasn’t been declared if it will be women or men.

However, Fightful added that they have also been told to expect a “reinvigoration” to the Knockouts division in July. There has been talk for a number of months now that the women of IMPACT were going to grow in numbers.

Both Mickie James and Chelsea Green have formerly worked for the company, so their returns may be a possibility. James has recently taken a role with NWA and will be helping them produce an all-women’s event in August. She will also be in action at the organization’s 73rd Anniversary show.

The company has been hyping up its Knockouts division on social media recently with a few videos highlighting its talent.

At the time of this writing, there haven’t been any Knockouts matches announced for Slammiversary. IMPACT is very good at making sure all of their women are highlighted at their events, so expect some news coming soon.
