Sabotage Wrestling announces new ownership

Sabotage Wrestling, an independent wrestling promotion that heavily features women’s wrestling, will transition to new management.

The San Marcos, Texas-based promotion made the announcement last week. The promotion was started to help highlight women’s wrestling in a better light and to create another opportunity for women everywhere to be able to showcase their talents, inside and outside of a wrestling ring.

The former owners, Mel Cervantes, aka Thunder Rosa (also LU’s Kobra Moon), and Brian Cervantes will be handing the reigns over to the Heel/Face Wrestling team, led by CEO Jeffrey Cerda, who has served as the Vice President of Sabotage since the company relocated from California to central Texas.

The Heel/Face Wrestling team also includes Jason Harris, Rudy Hernandez, and Joseph Montana, who have all had a part in the Texas promotions over the past few months.

“We want to thank each and every fan for coming out to each and every one of our Sabotage shows,” said Mel Cervantes. “We trust Jeff and everyone at the Heel/Face Wrestling company to take over control of this company because this is something that we truly love and care about. Myself, Brian and the rest of my family planted the seed of this great promotion and we know it will continue to grow. We just hope that everyone continues to support women’s wrestling because they are going to need it. Thank you so much to everyone for all of the support, I cannot stress that enough.”

The promotion’s roster includes Angel Blue, Barbi Hayden, Erica Torres, Heather Monroe, Kylie Rae, Leva Bates, Robyn Reid, and more.

Under Brian and Mel Cervantes, Sabotage made an immediate impact in the Austin, TX area and made history there with War of the Genders II, the first entire intergender wrestling event, which was headlined by Thunder Rosa vs. Sammy Guevara on January 19.

While Sabotage has been headquartered in the central Texas area, the addition of Cerda and Heel/Face Wrestling team has allowed the promotion to extend their reach beyond the confines of the host facility, through live streams on Twitch.tv and video sales.

Sabotage Wrestling’s first event under new ownership, titled “The Fire Still Burns,” will be on August 25 at 6:00 p.m at America’s Academy of Professional Wrestling school. For tickets, visit SabotageTexas.com.
