Santana Garrett to compete for vacant NWA Women’s title

As reported yesterday, the reigning NWA World Women’s Champion, Jazz, vacated her title. Today, the NWA announced that Santana Garrett will face Allysin Kay (Sienna) this Saturday at the Crockett Cup in the scheduled championship match.

In an unfortunate end to her 948-day reign, Jazz vacated the NWA World Women’s Championship due to medical and personal issues on Monday morning. She was booked to defend the title at the Crockett Cup against Allysin Kay.

Today, the promotion announced Santana Garrett as her replacement in a match for the vacant title.

Incidentally, Garrett is a former NWA Women’s Champion. On Feb. 7, 2015, she defeated Barbi Hayden to win the championship for the first time. The current WOW Superhero went on to hold the title for 314 days, eventually losing it to Amber Gallows in December of 2015.

The National Wrestling Alliance also announced there will the women’s wrestling legend on hand on Saturday to present the title to the winner. They will reveal the legend tomorrow at noon.

The Crockett Cup is a cross-promotional event presented by NWA and Ring of Honor. The show will take place at The Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, North Carolina.

Tickets are still available, and it will stream live on Fite Tv and the Honor Club at 7 pm.
