Mandy Rose finally returned to an NXT ring this week for the first time since rejoining the black and gold brand. The result of the match wasn’t what she had hoped for as she lost via count-out after her opponent Sarray delivered a dropkick taking her out of the ring.
The dropkick to the face of Rose had Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne rush to help her with a towel to cover her face. Afterward and backstage in medical, backstage interviewer, McKenzie Mitchell attempted to get a few words from Rose. Dolin & Jayne stood their ground and wouldn’t allow anyone to see her.
Dolin and Jayne took matters into their own hands as they attacked Sarray in the locker room.
For the first time since defeating The Way for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships, Io Shirai and Zoey Stark will be defending their gold next week. Since winning the titles, Shirai and Stark have been kept out of the ring while trying to form a friendship or bond. Shirai confirms she isn’t friends with Stark nor does she care about her upcoming opponents Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter. What she does care about is keeping gold around her waist.
The Robert Stone Brand’s Jessi Kamea lost to the NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez on this week’s show. However, this has not deterred Franky Monet who is still ready to take down Gonzalez and win her first gold since joining NXT.
Indi Hartwell is trying to create a friendship between Johnny Gargano and her fiance Dexter Lumis. Hartwell and Lumis will be tying the knot on the Sept. 12 episode of NXT. InDex accompanied Gargano during his match against his match with LA Knight.
