Sexy Star wins in MMA debut via unanimous decision

Last night, pro wrestler, Sexy Star, won in her MMA debut by a unanimous decision. She defeated her opponent, Mariana Ruiz, in a fight that took place in Star’s hometown of Monterrey, Mexico. The bout lasted three round.

The former three-time AAA Reina de Reinas champion, whose real name is Dulce Maria García Rivas, officially entered the world of mixed martial arts in February. She signed a multi-year deal with the promotion, Combate Americas.

In addition to being an accomplished luchador, she also holds an undefeated record of 5-0 in boxing. Considering her combat background, Rivas made a flawless transition to MMA.

Rivas made headlines back in 2017, and not for her accolades in professional wrestling. She received tons of backlash from fans and her peers when she dislocated Rosemary‘s shoulder with a shoot armbar.

The incident happened in a match at AAA’S Triplemania XXV. Afterward, the promotion stripped her of the Reina de Reinas Championship. Even more, she was taken off shows, and blackballed by several promotions
after that.

Sexy Star hopes for a fresh start in her new found career as a MMA fighter.
