Stardom pulls Toni Storm vs. Bea Priestley from Korakuen show

Stardom announced via Twitter that the scheduled match between Toni Storm and Bea Priestley, set to take place on May 16, has been canceled.

Priestley is coming off of the biggest win of her career, dethroning Kagetsu for the World of Stardom Championship on May 4. Toni Storm is the current NXT UK Women’s Champion, having won the belt from Rhea Ripley at NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool back in January.

What made this proposed match between Storm and Priestley so interesting was the fact that Storm, a contracted WWE talent, would be taking on a member of the AEW roster. This would’ve been the first time since the AEW started rolling out their roster earlier this year.

Reports have been circulating since last year that NXT UK superstar have restrictions in their contracts which would prohibit them from working with certain promotions. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Storm is already scheduled for another match at Korakuen Hall.

It’s unclear why Stardom was forced to change the card. Now, she will take on Kagetsu in singles competition. As for Priestley, the World of Stardom champ will defend the title against Hazuki in a rematch of their clash during the Stardom Cinderella Tournament.
