Picture this: Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Shayna Baszler are in the ring to determine who reigns supreme in the WWE Women’s Division. You have the SmackDown Women’s Champion, the Raw Women’s Champion, and the NXT Women’s Champion. Each woman has merit in their careers in terms of accomplishments and reputation.
But nothing overshadows the portrait more than the fact that all three women are the key to a dream feud that fans have been salivating after for years.
With NXT firing the shots left and right on both Raw and SmackDown, the excitement continues as what was once dubbed the “developmental brand” has something to prove. It is known that NXT has built its legacy upon the stars it has created and the matches that have been Match of the Year candidates.
NXT comes with their own army of talent that have worked to get where they are in terms of standing along with Raw and SmackDown. With their own history makers, NXT’s comparison to the brands is a tall order.
Of course NXT was front and center once the Women’s Evolution really took off. What Bayley, Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Charlotte Flair created was the cornerstone of what fans are seeing in WWE Women’s wrestling today. What these ladies did for WWE as a whole mirrors the takeover Ronda Rousey, Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir did for the UFC.
This is just the tip of the iceberg or that first bite of cheesecake. The build to Survivor Series has just begun, and one of the matches announced is the triple threat match between the three women. All Champions, this match alone draws on the fact that there could be something much bigger that’s brewing.
If the surprise appearances by Baszler on both Raw and SmackDown is anything to go by, most likely a Four Horsewoman confrontation will happen come Survivor Series. It has to.
Murmurs of a possible Four Horsewomen battle could very well be making headlines by the time this match is over. There is no doubt that the invasion theme will continue through the next few weeks and through November 24th in Chicago. A shocking surprise in the form of Rousey could possibly factor into the fallout of this triple threat match.
Remember, Lynch holds claim to unseating Rousey to gain the Raw Women’s Championship back at WrestleMania. In addition, Baszler will more than likely call on pals Shafir and Duke for a support system. However this scenario is set up, fans could very well see a battle should Banks and Flair make an appearance as well.
Talk about a hell of a start to WrestleMania season, and the scary part is that we’re not into 2020 just yet.
There is no doubt in this writer’s mind that the clash could go mainstream given the star power of Rousey. WWE would certainly want people talking in efforts to make WrestleMania the biggest success that it could be. The fact is, is that this clash is bound to happen. But what will the company do en route to Tampa is the biggest question.
That question will most likely be answered in Chicago. Until then, it looks like fans will be sitting back and waiting patiently for the payoff.
