‘Third Bella’ on her way to possible wrestling career

Total Bellas is on its fourth season, and it appears that another member of the family is possibly on her way to the ring.

Earlier this year, Nikki Bella announced on Instagram that her stepsister, Maya Laurinaitis, coined the “third Bella” by WWE, would be joining the cast of Total Bellas for the fourth season, as she pursues a career in modeling and a future dream as a WWE Superstar.

Maya is the daughter of John Laurinaitis, known as Johnny Ace during his wrestling career. Laurinaitis acted as WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Operations with various backstage roles from 2001 until 2012, after which he took an on-camera role as the Raw General Manager. Since 2013, Laurinaitis has made limited appearances on WWE. In 2015, Laurinaitis married Kathy Colace, who is the mother of the Bella twins.

Maya’s father isn’t the only wrestler in her family; her uncle Joe is Road Warrior Animal, and her uncle Marcus spent time in WCW.

The idea that the 16-year-old might want a career in wrestling isn’t a far-fetched one, though some fans have lashed out over what they perceive as Maya’s unfair advantage.

During the below clip from Sunday’s episode, Maya discusses her passion for modeling with Nikki, sharing that it would go against her father’s wishes and plans for Maya’s acceptance into the “NXT facility”.

Nikki and Brie have the experience to help guide Maya in both wrestling and modeling, and Brie has even credited Total Divas, the flagship show, for some of the women’s evolution.

Check back to Diva Dirt for more news on Maya Laurinaitis, and catch Total Bellas on E! Sunday nights, at 9 p.m. EST.
