Thunder Rosa gets the win over Penelope Ford; Matches set for Rampage and Dynamite

Thunder Rosa continues to stay in the win column and is back on Dynamite as she faced Penelope Ford this week. Rosa came out to a loud Houston crowd who gave her a huge reaction and were firmly behind her. This match came to be after Rosa saved her friend Masha Slamovich on AEW Dark after a post-match attack from Ford.

After a quality match between two of the top five ranking women of the division, Rosa was able to get a submission victory after a back and forth between the two. Ford countered a Fire Thunder Driver attempt by Rosa to get her into a submission. Once out of it, Rosa hits a Death Valley Driver and goes for the pin but Ford kicks out. After Ford tries for another submission victory, Rosa counters into a rear-naked chokehold which causes The Bad Girl to tap out.

Upcoming matches were announced for the women on future shows. We will see Jade Cargill facing Kiera Hogan. Hogan made her AEW debut this week and although an actual All Elite announcement hasn’t been made, she has eyes on her. She lost her first two matches against Hikaru Shida and Kris Stadtlander on this week’s Elevation and Dark. How will she fare with the undefeated Cargill on Rampage this Friday?

As for next week’s Dynamite, Jamie Hayter will be facing Red Velvet. Hayter officially became All Elite as she solidified herself as AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker‘s backup. Hayter showed up after the women’s main event last week on Rampage. Baker retained her title against Red Velvet. Will Velvet be able to pick up an important win or will Hayter prove why she was the perfect choice to be Baker’s problem solver?
