Today in History: Terri Runnels Wins the Hardcore Title

On this day in history:

May 27th, 2002 | The WWE Hardcore Title’s 24/7 defense stipulation brought about a lot of far-fetched scenarios. For instance, the time then-interviewer Terri Runnels winning the title from champ Steven Richards. After Richards suffered ambushes from several people (including Jacqueline), Terri claimed the spoils, pinning him and becoming the Hardcore Champion. Much like Trish Stratus‘s Hardcore Title reign, it was but a fleeting moment. Richards soon recovered, pinning Terri, regaining his title and heading for the hills.

What are your memories of this moment?
