Today in History: Sasha Banks wins her first Raw Women’s Title

On this day in history:

July 25th, 2016 | Sasha Banks was on a mission to dethrone Charlotte Flair’s 300 plus day reign as champion. In a match-up against Charlotte with the Raw Women’s Title on the line, Sasha got the chance to do so after managing to send Charlotte’s protégé Dana Brooke (who tried to get involved in the match) to the back. Sasha then turned her focus on the champion – where she wore Charlotte down with her signature knee drops and going as far as landing a suicide dive to the outside ring. But in an emotional finish of Charlotte declaring that Sasha “will never beat her” Sasha countered a strike to lock in a Bank Statement in the middle of the ring, giving Charlotte no choice but to tap out and giving The Boss her first Raw Women’s Championship.
