Today in History: The Divas and Women’s Titles are defended at Night of Champions 2009

On this day in history:

July 26th, 2009 | At Night of Champions 2009, both of the female belts were put on the line. Mickie James sought to end Maryse‘s then-record 216-day Divas Championship reign, while Michelle McCool put the Women’s Title on the line against Melina. Mickie would win her match by reversing the French Kiss into a DDT of her own, becoming the Divas Champion for the first and only time. Michelle retained her title by folding up Melina for a sudden pin, bringing a quick end to an extremely hard fought match.

What are your memories of these moments?
