On this day in history:
July 10th, 2000 | In one of their first one-on-one matches, Lita and Trish Stratus were booked to compete in a Street Fight. Despite the promises of the stipulation, however, the women never made it outside of the ring. The match came to a screeching halt when Lita, deciding to humiliate Trish rather than just beat the tar out of her, took her opponent’s top off. This brought out Steven Richards, who covered Trish in a sheet and hurried her to the back. The Right to Censor was only a few weeks old at the time and thus far only consisted of Richards, but this moment proved to be a good example of one of the group’s chief motives: censor “scantily clad” women.
What are your memories of this moment?
