Top 5 women’s WrestleMania matches

We are very close to what will go down as the strangest and most unprecedented WrestleMania in history. The global outbreak of Coronavirus has literally put the world on lockdown with all sporting events and mass gatherings either postponed or canceled. The NBA, NFL, and NHL are all postponed until further notice, the XFL has canceled its season entirely and despite their best efforts, all UFC events have also been called off. However, WrestleMania will go ahead but in a way that has never been seen before. The show is scheduled to take place at the WWE Performance Center with no fans in attendance and over the course of the two-nights.

Due to these unusual circumstances and the state of the world at large, this year’s WrestleMania just doesn’t have the excitement and anticipation attached to it. So to try and pique your interest I have devised my list of the top 5 women’s WrestleMania matches.

Take a look, have a read and agree or disagree, comment below and Enjoy.

5. AJ Lee and Paige vs The Bella Twins – WrestleMania 31

Not only a really good, entertaining and fun match it is also one that will go down in the history books as the last “Divas” match to take place at WrestleMania.

The match would also be monumental for another reason in that it would be AJ Lee’s final match in WWE before retiring from wrestling completely.

The match was set after Nikki Bella defeated AJ Lee for the Divas Championship, ending AJ’s record-breaking title reign in the process. The Bellas would continue to mock and torment the Paige and AJ Lee because of their “nonconformity” causing the former foes to put old animosity aside to become “frenemies” to take on the Nikki and Brie.

The match was solid with good strong performances from all involved. The crowd was fully behind the team of Paige and AJ as The Bellas would overpower and dominate Paige for much of the match before she made the hot tag to AJ who scored the win with an octopus stretch. The win was a defining moment and changing of the tide in the division as the “freaks and geeks” overcame the “Divas.”
