It is being reported that Mia Yim was set to debut on SmackDown this past Friday. This did not take place and the plans were nixed according to Fightful Select. She was set to start a feud with Carmella, however, it was nixed based on needing time to add throwback content to reflect the theme of the show.
Furthermore, it was noted that the “Throwback SmackDown” was a theme that was Fox Network’s idea that was accommodated by WWE. Time was also said to be added to the Roman Reign’s segment but it isn’t certain if that took away from the time that was supposed to be for Yim.
It has been rumored since Yim broke away from RETRIBUTION and the stable has broken up that she was moved to SmackDown. The end of the RETRIBUTION angle occurred on the Kickoff show of Fastlane in March.
Carmella continued to have a match on SmackDown which she won against Ruby Riott. The Wrestling Observer is stating that Yim’s debut is now scheduled for this week. At the time of this writing, there has been no confirmation of this news by either WWE or Yim herself.
It is not known if Yim will return to her NXT gimmick or if she will continue with the Reckoning name much like T-Bar and Mace have since the RETRIBUTION split.
Diva Dirt will update you on this news story if anything further gets added.
