Women of Honor Tournament: 2nd Round Results

The second round of the Women of Honor championship tournament has gotten underway. Similar to the first round, ROH has released second round matches on their YouTube channel. Below are three of those matches. If you have missed any of the first round matches, you can check out our coverage here.

WOH Championship Tournament Round 2: Tenille Dashwood vs. Brandi Rhodes

At times the pacing of the match felt a little slow. That being said, this was my first time seeing Brandi wrestle since her time at Impact. She has definitely made improvement in the past year, and I hope that she continues to progress. Tenille looked great throughout the match, and has not missed a beat in her post WWE career.

WOH Championship Tournament Round 2: Kelly Klein vs. Mandy Leon

This match featured two long standing members of the revitalized Women of Honor roster. I enjoyed the physicality of the match. While Kelly Klein used her usual hard hitting style, Mandy Leon also had a few moments that impressed me throughout the match. The ending of the bout was something I also liked. It was clever, and not a finish that I have seen for a while.

WOH Championship Tournament Round 2: Sumie Sakai vs. Kagetsu

This was by far my favorite match out of the three. The two ladies in this match gelled together very well. I have never seen Kagetsu’s work from Stardom. However, in this match alone she really impressed me. Her aerial maneuvers and submission move was great to see. It’s also nice that one of the OGs from the original Women of Honor division Sumie Sakai is getting a chance to participate in this tournament.

What did you guys think of the second round matches? Are you enjoying how the tournament has shaped up so far? Who do you want to see in the finals?
