Wrestlers 4 Haiti Hits $5000 Mark in Two Days

Wrestlers 4 Haiti led by TNA Knockout, Awesome Kong has raised over $5000 in just over two days. Thanks to generous donations from fans, the guerilla charity fundraiser totalled $2,597.23 in proceeds during a tally earlier this evening.

Wrestling legend, Mick Foley added another $2500 to the fund bringing the total to $5,097.23. The TNA star had pledged to match the proceeds raised by Wrestlers 4 Haiti up to $2500, a number which was exceeded. [Click here to watch a clip of Kong announcing the total.]

All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross on Monday morning. Pledges were made online via PayPal and at a benefit held by Kong last night in Pennsylvania.

We’ve had our own little hand in the fundraising with the ‘Wrestlers Tweet 4 Haiti’ competition, so thank you to Kong for thinking of us! On behalf of Diva Dirt and our readers in particular, I’d like to give a big round of applause to Kong for her amazing, tireless effort over the past couple of days to make this a success and rallying the wrestling community together to make a contribution. She is one of a kind and a true role model, so thank you!

We will hopefully keep the pledge drive going on Kong’s behalf as the world will no doubt continue relief work for Haiti over the weeks and months to come. Send your pledge via PayPal to [email protected]. For more details on how to send your payment click here. You can also bid on a personally donated 8×10 from Alissa Flash left over from Diva Dirt Gives Back by clicking here. Please do take advantage of the ‘Buy It Now’ option so we can get the proceeds to Kong ASAP. We will be throwing in a free Raisha Saeed signed 8×10 too!
