WWE Superstar Shake-up 2019 breakdown

The Superstar Shake-up is officially over, and the talent is settling into their new homes. The two-night event has become must-watch television in the same vein as the Raw after Mania. Here’s what we know now.

On the first night, Zelina Vega was the first female Raw acquisition. Next, two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion, Naomi, came to the aid Bayley in Sasha Banks’ absence to compete against the IIconics. Next, Lacey Evans officially became a member of the roster and defeated Natalya to become the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship.

Honestly, the Raw women’s segments were kind of underwhelming. There weren’t many surprises. The only thing that felt like it had lasting storyline implications was the Evans and Lynch feud. WWE saved the big moves for the SmackDown.

On the second night, Ember Moon came out to challenge Becky Lynch and make a name for her, followed by Bayley. Lastly, the only NXT call up, Kairi Sane, joined Asuka to form the new tag team Paige teased last week.

After the show went off the air, WWE announced Liv Morgan and Mickie James will also join the blue brand.

SmackDown got the bulk of the female superstars this year. However, the brand clearly needed some new matchups after the decision to make the WrestleMania main event a Winner Take All match.

What do you think of all these moves? Drop a comment below.
