Your Two Cents: Diva DVDs

“Your Two Cents” is our interactive feature where we gauge the opinions of our Twitter and Facebook followers on different discussions in women’s wrestling.

This week, we’re asking this: The WWE may be considering a new Diva-related DVD, so we want to know: if you could choose the next Diva DVD, what would it be about? We’ve read your responses on our social media pages and picked some of the best submissions to highlight here on the website. As always, you can join the debate by leaving your comments!

Our Two Cents

Batting for Team DD this week, it’s Bobby giving us his personal opinion on this week’s topic:

Bobby: Okay, let me read this carefully so I don’t end up repeating the last 2 cents question I answered where I mistook “Who is the best American female wrestler” with “Who is your favorite American female wrestler” and said Kaitlyn. (reads over question fifty times) Alright, if I could pick my own Diva oriented DVD, it would probably have to be one based on the ten or so greatest female feuds. It’s known that I’m one for stories, and there have been some good ones to include such as Mickie James/Trish Stratus, Torrie Wilson/Dawn Marie, Trish/Victoria, Sable/Jacqueline, of course Lita/Trish… heck I even really liked Candice Michelle/Beth Phoenix and Maria Kanellis/Michelle McCool from around 2007-2008 if we’re going more recent. I’m not saying those necessarily have to be included, but there have been some good feuds to happen in the WWE over the years and I think a retrospective DVD looking back on them with some of the women involved providing their own commentary would be a unique, fun view.

Your Two Cents

Ant John | Evolution of the Diva: The Greatest. A 3 disc set containing the top 50 Divas of all time, with a match dedicated to each on the list.
Eric Holt | If I could choose the next Diva DVD, it would be about the history of the WWF/E women’s division. In the DVD, it could talk about how the Divas division was started and who was involved in it. From there, the dvd could be like a timeline of how the women’s divsion evolved over the years from way back in the day to today.
Jack White | Hand Me Down: The Life and Times of Mae Young and her Son. What an epic tale it would be!
Josh Andrews | I think a tribute to the the most influential women in wrestling who have now passed would be best. I’d love to see the legends like Ms. Elizabeth, Sherri Martel, Luna Vachon, Mae Young and even Nancy Benoit profiled one more time. A nice touch would be the current crop of Divas providing commentary!
Josue Guzman | Well after seeing “WWE’s Greatest Rivalries: Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart”, I’d like to a female version titled “WWE’s Greatest Rivalries: Trish Stratus vs. Lita.” WWE has more than enough to create a DVD that tells the tale between these two women. Starting from the time they feuded as managers for their respective teams, to competing in singles exhibitions whether it be for the Women’s Championship or not, times as unlikely partners ending with their final match at Unforgiven. Not only will it appeal to us current fans but it would be a great way introduce both women to the current generation of fans that may not be familiar with them.
Kassem Farhat | I would like to see a DVD about the best Diva matches of the 21st century where the match is shown and the Divas involved tell their thoughts about it. That would be very cool in my opinion.
@KatieFJ07 | I would personally love to see a list of the greatest Diva matches of all time. I really feel that having this DVD would show many of the fans that these girls can go in the ring and be just as impressive as the boys. I’d love to see Bull Nakano vs. Alundra Blayze, Beth Phoenix vs. Melina‘s I Quit match, Eve Torres vs Beth at Vengeance, Mickie James vs Trish Stratus at WM22, etc.
Megan Travis | I’d choose a history of Divas DVD. Go back to the days of The Fabulous Moolah up through today and have interviews with both past and present girls. Have them talk about important events and women within the divsion and then fill the other two discs with matches.

And now we turn it over to you…

What are your two cents on the debate? What would you choose as the topic of the next Diva-related DVD? Tell us in the comments…
