The call-up of Indi Hartwell to Raw during the draft has led us to this moment. The finals of an eight woman tournament culminates to Battleground tonight where a new champion will be crowned.
In the semi-finals, Tiffany Stratton defeated Roxanne Perez while Lyra Valkyria went over Cora Jade. That has brought us to Stratton vs. Valkyria tonight.
Here are our predictions –
NICK – This was not the finals I think that anyone expected. Despite a lot of people wantinf Tiffany to win, the writing on the walls all pointed to a Roxanne vs. Cora finals. Even though Valkyria has plenty of experience to be champion, she is still newer to the NXT audience. So with that being said, Tiffany is the likely winner.
WINNER: Tiffany Stratton
COLBY – I originally thought this would be Roxanne vs. Cora, but I’m totally cool with this bout. I wanted Tiffany in the finals anyway, but having her vs. Cora didn’t make as much sense. Lyra is proving her worth with each passing week, while Tiffany is a future main eventer in my eyes. Might as well strike while the iron’s hot and give her some gold now.
WINNER: Tiffany Stratton
GARY – Not the final two I expected but I am massive fan of both ladies. I really hope they put on a stellar match and prove they’ve earned these spots. Whoever wins I think should have a decent run with the title after two very short runs (due to injury of course and the draft) I almost feel like neither woman will be the champion and Cora Jade somehow ends up in the match after her assault on Valkyria, I don’t know how but I expect something. Failing that, I’m going to go with Lyra getting the win here (but I will be very pleased with a Stratton win).
