Alexa Bliss returned from maternity leave earlier this year as a surprise entrant in the women’s Royal Rumble. The surprise wasn’t just to fans, but the talent alike as no one knew she was there until she was in gorilla ready to head out for the match.
On the most recent episode of the Nikki & Brie Show, Bliss details the last minute appearance. Everything from getting the call at midnight the night before to arriving at 4 PM with a 6 PM show time. It was all confirmed the same day at about 5 AM that she needed to be on a plane by 10 AM. She was flown into Cincinnati so no one would see her and driven into Indianapolis for the event.
She credits Bayley and Natalya for helping her right before the match to go over what they were going to do.
It has been previously reported that the spot for Bliss was originally for Shotzi. Shotzi confirmed that Bliss was not aware of this.
