Sol Ruca is currently dominating in NXT right now. She is currently a double champion, holding both the NXT Women’s North American Championship and the WWE Women’s Speed Championship.
Back in 2023 and 2024, when WWE actually celebrated diversity, NXT posted its roster for Black History Month. On that, Ruca appeared, and as things go, because she has a light complexion, her being on the poster was questioned.
While speaking on the Ring Wrestling Show, the topic of this came up and Ruca provided her thoughts. She stated that the post was originally taken down and then reposted. Many people thought they did so to remove Ruca as if it was a “mistake” that she was on it. When they reposted it, she was still there.
“Then they reposted it and I was still there and everybody was like, ‘wait, what?’ And then of course everyone was like, ‘show me proof, show me proof.’ You know, you shouldn’t have to show people proof, because why the hell would I lie about that?”
Ruca’s father is Black and she goes on to say there’s always some people who want to say she isn’t even half Black but a quarter or a certain percentage.
