Hola a todos, and welcome to the CMLL Weekly Review! This week was full of tag matches as México celebrated Independence Day and the CMLL celebrated their 92nd Anniversary Show!
First on Tuesday glamour nights from La Arena Coliseo de Guadalajara, we had a tag team match as Dulce Kitty and Náutica took on Valkyria and Nexy.
With a good opportunity to showcase themselves, the four of them attempted to make a stride into victory, with the babyfaces getting in there first and winning the encounter.
You can watch the match for free on YouTube!
The same night on the day of the independence, we had another tag match, this time between the Mexican National Women’s Tag Team Champions Skadi and Kira taking on second-generation wrestlers, the lady of the dark glove, Sanely, and ROH Pure Rules Tournament participant Olympia.
Looking proud and as Mexican as ever, the women made their way into the ring, the first fall went pretty even until the two powerhouses clashed with each other; with both down, their partners tried to steal the win only to get a near fall. It was then that the heels got the job done and got the win for the first fall.
The second fall started with las rudas ganging up on Kira until Skadi tried to make the save, only for las rudas to tag-team her instead. This continued until las tecnicas were able to counter them with their tag moves, getting their first win.
In the middle of the chaos of Kira’s high-flying moves and the reaction from the crowd, the last fall was action-packed. Sanely and Olympia were not going to let this go, and with their experience and strength, they won the match after a gorilla press.
Last but certainly not least, Las Chicas Indomables put their CMLL tag titles on the line versus fan favorites Persephone and Reyna Isis on CMLL’s 92nd Anniversary show, and with no other women’s match on the card, they were ready for the spotlight.
Wearing matching gear sporting the colors of the Mexican flag, both teams felt the energy of the crowd in the form of cheers for the challengers and boos for the champions throughout the whole match, fighting with everything they had to offer inside and outside of the ring.
Yet that was no match for La Vaquerita’s slow counting, and after some running kicks, they got to retain the titles amid the disdain from the crowd.
This will be it for now, until the next time!
