It’s three words tonight…Blood and Guts, as tonight the AEW women’s division will make history competing in this match for the first time, ever. And history was certainly made! It was brutal, it was chaos, it was insane, it was memorable.
Trigger Warning: There will be blood!
The competition pits “The CEO” Mercedes Moné, Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, and the Triangle of Madness’ Thekla, Skye Blue, and Julia Hart against the team of the AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander, “Timeless” Toni Storm, Willow Nightingale, Mina Shirakawa, Jamie Hayter, and Harley Cameron.
Blue and Nightingale start the match off, and Blue immediately gets busted open.
Coming in to Blue’s rescue is her Sister of Sin tag team partner, Hart, as she steps in and takes it to Nightingale, as they drop her with a powerbomb. Cameron comes in dressed as Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, and in true heroic fashion of the character, comes to the aid of Nightingale.
The Triangle of Madness is now complete as “The Toxic Spider” Thekla comes in and lashes the tag team of Cameron and Nightingale with her belt.
Hayter now arrives as she has a score to settle with Thekla and the rest of the triangle, and batters all the members as much as she can.
Bayne makes her entrance along with Penelope Ford, and clocks Hayter with a big dropkick and takes out Nightingale and Cameron with her prowess. Cameron decides to take this into her own hands and hits Bayne with a trash can lid. Her plan backfires as Bayne sends Cameron crashing into it.
Statlander arrives with a pool cue in hand and quickly reminds the other team of why she’s the AEW Women’s World Champion. Queen Aminata, despite being injured out of this match, evens the numbers game and sends Ford packing to the back.
The CEO arrives with her belts on display and lands a DDT on Statlander right onto the world championship. A foreshadowing perhaps for their AEW Women’s World Championship match at Full Gear. Moné has an idea and hands her title belts to her teammates to use as weapons.
Shirakawa makes her usual flashy entrance and works in tandem with Statlander to take out Moné.
Shafir is the last entrant for her team, and is ready to bust the girls open as she reveals a bed of nails, unbeknownst to Statlander’s expense.
Storm is the last entrant for her team and immediately knocks out the other team with her pearls and some glass. And with all the entrants in the ring, Blood & Guts has now officially begun!
Hayter attempts to drive Blue through the table twice, but it doesn’t break. Moné gives a kiss of death to Storm, shades to their match at All In. And Mini Moné makes it as a surprise entrant in the match, much to Moné’s dismay. Cameron has another surprise as she pulls out the brass knuckles to knock Moné out.
Thekla and Hart slip out of the cage, and Thekla spears the referee to gain the keys to the kingdom, as Moné clears house.
Statlander and Moné get caught up on the beam, but Statlander lands a Samoan Drop as she sends Moné crashing into the table along with her titles.
Shirakawa and Storm Double DDT Shafir into Moné’s champagne bottle from earlier. And as Storm is ready to hip attack Shafir into a mirror, Shafir retaliates and sends the mirror crashing into Storm.
The Timeless Love Bombs, get caught up in the other team, and Storm just has to surrender after seeing Shirakawa getting brutalized right in front of her.
Safe to say, a lot of these women will not be walking the same after tonight. But, Storm has a message for the opposing women after this grueling match.
