The semi-finalists in the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament will all compete in a four-way tag match tonight to determine a stipulation of their choosing in their semi-final bracket.
This match pits the Timeless Love Bombs, “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir, the Babes of Wrath, Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale, and The Sisters of Sin, Julia Hart and Skye Blue.
The tag teams immediately start going at it, and all spill to the outside. In a scene almost resembling the Blood & Guts ending, Shirakawa almost gets choked out by Shafir, but Storm is not willing to let that happen again.
All hell breaks loose as Shirakawa crossbodys all the competitors on the outside, leaving Cameron and Storm in the ring. Storm takes advantage and scores the small package to pick up the win for The Timeless Lovebombs.
One year since their first bout at Full Gear, the AEW Women’s World Champion, Kris Statlander, defends her championship against “Ultimo” Mercedes Moné. With the big one on the line, these two look to complete a trilogy of matches that many consider to be pure chemistry.
The two battle at a face pace, and as Moné dumps her outside of the ring, Statlander clutches onto her left arm. Moné takes advantage of this and targets her arm throughout the match.
Moné hits 14 Amigos for each of her titles and an extra one for the AEW Women’s World title. Statlander finds her answer as she puts a halt to Moné’s Frog Splash.
Statlander catches Moné and hits a Blue Thunder Bomb on the outside. Moné beats the count and is ready to take Statlander out until she meets a big lariat. Statlander hits a belly-to-belly suplex and locks in a Statement Maker of her own. Moné counters with her own Statement Maker, but Statlander powers through and lifts Moné to the top rope and hits an Avalanche Rib Breaker, only for a two count.
The two try to score the seatbelt pin, but kick out each time. Statlander plants Moné on her head, but Moné saves herself with a rope break Moné tries to hit her patented Meteora, but gets caught. Both try to go for their finishers and counter every time, with Moné hitting a Poisonrana.
Moné tries to finish off Statlander on the corner, but finally gets caught in Staturday Night Fever. Statlander retains her title, as Moné suffers her second singles loss in AEW.
