Athena remains the ROH Women’s World Champion at Final Battle for the third year in a row after winning the gold at the same event in 2022. She main evented against Persephone. The match went for over 27 minutes. Her reign is approaching 1,100 days.
The final moments came down to both women on the top rope, leading to Athena tossing Persephone down to the mat before hitting the O-Face for the victory.
Former WWE ID and Evolve talent Zayda Steel made her in-ring debut in ROH. She faced Leila Grey and came out with a loss in her first encounter in an ROH ring. Grey won the match with Angel Wings, and the two women showed good sportsmanship and the code of honor after the match.
AEW/ROH CEO Tony Khan commented on Steel in the post-media scrum after Final Battle.
“I thought Zayda Steel was excellent. I was really impressed with her. Not only was she tremendous in the ring, but so far, working with her backstage, what a great professional. She does a great job. We were happy to have her here. I look forward to seeing her more.”
