Merry Christmas Eve Diva Dirt! AEW Dynamite is on 34th Street, and we’re looking to brawl as Mina Shirakawa takes on Marina Shafir tonight.
Before tonight’s matchup, “Timeless” Toni Storm has some words for Shafir, but Shirakawa says that tonight she goes at it alone.
With World’s End coming up Saturday, the AEW Women’s World Champion, Kris Statlander, will have to defend her title against a former champion, Jamie Hayter. Tonight, they meet face-to-face to see who can get the last rub in before the big match.
Statlander empathizes with Hayter and knows what it’s like to lose it all. Now that she’s become champion again, she wants to see if Hayter can prove herself this time around, but with this new version of Statlander.
Renee Paquette asks Hayter if she has anything to add, but Hayter takes a swing on the current champion. Statlander catches the Hayterade, and Hayter reminds her that last time she got hit with this last week, she did not get up.
The AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, The Babes of Wrath, are here on this Christmas Eve and are set to defend their titles at World’s End against Mercedes Moné and the Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion, Athena. But tomorrow on Collision, their focus is on Hyan and Maya World. Harley Cameron is ready to bring the wrath, and Willow Nightingale needs a much-needed confidence boost.
The match between Shirakawa and Shafir finally gets underway, and Shirakawa is looking to get some payback since Blood and Guts. Both women are arguably the best strikers in the AEW women’s locker room today.
Shirakawa unfortunately runs into Mother’s Milk as Shafir locks it in tight. With Shirakawa fading away, the referee calls for the bell as Shafir looks dead into the eyes of the camera.
Post-match, Shafir gives Shirakawa a taste of more of Mother’s Milk, but Storm charges in to make the save. Shafir is ready for her as she knocks Storm out with one kick to the head. The Timeless Lovebirds are left knocked out in the ring, and Shafir leaves unimpressed.
What did you think of tonight’s AEW Dynamite? Who walks out of World’s End with all the gold? Could Shafir be looking to dominate in 2026? Let us know in the comments below!
